Margatroid Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I got my V4 Midnight Blue Hayabusa and I am in love with it. I think the lever is superior to the JLF and the buttons are nice too. Definitely recommended, especially considering the price.
Maker Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 @rising if your in a hurry you ARE going to pay for it. People are ruthless with this sort if supply / demand stuff. I'd reccomend that the next time you see one for sale you get it and just deal with buyers remorse later on. IF your in that big of a rush anyway.
nilcam Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I ordered a Hori RAP4 Midnight Blue silent stick from Play Asia. It cost slightly less than a Mad Catz stick, maybe a few dollars less. It will ship in 5 - 15 days.
qwerty Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 If you're not afraid to do some soldering, you can hack a Fighting Commander 4 in your HRAP for seamless PS3 and PS4 functionality. Past that, your options are limited, as you've figured out.

Anyone else know this process?
Margatroid Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 RisingStars, I was not charged any special customs fee in Colorado. As far as I know, only Canada does that. But you should check your state laws just to be sure.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I think they only charge you fees if you use something like DHL or Fedex. If you use your standard shipping method then you're cool.
Epic Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I was actually wondering that as well, but for shipping to Europe. From what I was able to gather the custom checks seems to be completely random. Anyways paying around 40 pounds of customs and taxes for a 120 pound stick doesn't sound so bad. Anyone with some experience in this matter?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 If it's a carrier like DHL, UPS or FedEx you'll ALWAYS pay importing taxes (unless you order through Amazon, they always charge a deposit for those fees). For standard mail there's always a risk of having your package intercepted by customs and having a charge on it, but 90% of the time your package will pass with no extras. ... now, thank god you live in decent countries where the postal service doesn't actually steal your stuff at times

I was looking at a HRAP4 on ebay that was $178 + $10 shipping, but it just sold! Anyways, I ordered from Amazon JP to tenso, and am having Tenso ship it to me via EMS once they receive the package. How exactly is it determined what carrier I receive it ( San Francisco) once it hits the states?
Margatroid Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 So I just noticed something about my RAP4 that really bothers me, and maybe people have opinions on this. I've been having trouble reliably doing IADs, and I was trying to figure out exactly why. I was feeling out the lever's gate corners, then I tried moving the whole stick over to the left edge of my lap so my left arm could extend in a natural straight line to hold the stick instead of bending my elbow inward. I found that I immediately had much more comfort and control and was IADing more reliably. I really like the silent RAP4, especially the quality of the lever, but my old madcatz Soul Calibur V stick had a lever that was significantly farther from the buttons. However, I think maybe even it is not far enough away to comfortably hold in your lap with a straight arm. Aside from playing with your stick on a surface like a table, what solution is there for this? It's irritating that I'm having to bend my lever-arm into this uncomfortable, un-ergonomic position due to the lever being located so far inward. My lever arm feels almost "trapped" if I play with the stick in the middle of my lap, like my range and ease of motion are being limited. Maybe it's less of an issue for Japanese people with shorter arms...
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 RisingStars: if it's via EMS, your local postal service will manage (in this case USPS, IIRC). Margatroid, a solution would involve modifying the case (something that I wouldn't do it :P). I noticed that too but I am slowly getting used to it.
RisingStars Posted January 7, 2015 Author Posted January 7, 2015 Margatroid, Interesting. Is the layout much different from the HRAP1? When mine arrives, I'll let you know how I feel, but I have never felt an issue using the HRAP1, whether on a table or my lap. Maybe I am just used to it. Anyone have experience opening up and changing parts on the HRAP4 (or links to a guide?). I'd like to switch in my octagon gate as well as maybe sanwa buttons at one point. edit: actually I think I remember having a similar issue... Switching to the outer 6 buttons helped alot
Margatroid Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 I think the main issue is that my upper arm is pressed against the side of my body when I'm holding the stick in the middle of my lap, so I can't really move it. For a lot of motions I only use my forearm, but dashing seems to be easier and more accurate when powered by my triceps. Not sure what kind of technique other people use for IADs.
RisingStars Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 So for anyone that is still interested in a stick, I contacted Hori USA and they said that they would have HRAP 4 back in stock in February, for those that can wait a month or 2
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Are they gonna release their "red" line or the Silent Blue one?
RisingStars Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 I'm guessing the red line since that is all I see listed on their USA site, and that is what I was originally inquiring about.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Well, the normal HRAP4 is good too, so no worries about it.

Switching to the outer 6 buttons helped alot The stock gate is a flat black panel that can be easily removed, but to put an octo in, you'll need to drill 4 holes into the new gate to match where the screws go. I did it with a Sanwa GT-Y. It's pretty easy. You will need slightly longer screws to mount it, maybe 1 inch. I'm a modding novice, and it wasn't hard at all! Very, very happy with the results
Bojutsu Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I have the injustice gods among us fight stick, and I love it. Its moddable too.
xRELICXx Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I had this same problem! So i went out out and got a Titan One converter for my Qanba Q1 to work on my PS4!
StylisH Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm just looking for backwards compatible sticks for PS4/Xbone/PS3/360
nilcam Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 I'm really pissed off at Mad Catz. My order for the GG stick processed and charged my card last Wednesday. The stick still hasn't shipped and the charge fell off from my card so I called them today and was informed that the GG sticks were actually not in-stock but a preorder with no actual ship date. I cancelled the order and bought a HRAP4 off of eBay and it should be here between Friday and Wednesday of next week. I love EMS.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 You should have switched it to a Persona stick, man. The base design is the same. Checked about M4 and Titan One. Both of them require a wired controlller. On Ps4. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
