Tigre Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I'm really pissed off at Mad Catz. My order for the GG stick processed and charged my card last Wednesday. The stick still hasn't shipped and the charge fell off from my card so I called them today and was informed that the GG sticks were actually not in-stock but a preorder with no actual ship date. I cancelled the order and bought a HRAP4 off of eBay and it should be here between Friday and Wednesday of next week. I love EMS. Ouch, I was getting worried about the Xrd stick too, but mine shipped out yesterday. Not sure who you spoke to that said they were pre-orders... Most businesses ship within three business days so if you ordered it when they were put up on Wednesday yesterday was the third business day for them, You should have switched it to a Persona stick, man. The base design is the same. The Persona 4 Arena stick is the same base design, but is a.)still in pre-order (There are outstanding pre-orders from November, from what I've read) and b.)Not up for order so I'm not sure what that'd solve...
nilcam Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I ordered a RAP4 on eBay with EMS shipping for about the same price as the MC stick. I've always been happy with Hori products so I'm happy. I'm hoping I have it by the weekend.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Guys, the DOA Hori stick is back in stock at Amiami. Or well, last time I checked it was I ordered one for a friend but maybe someone here is interested. And yes, DOA lol, but you can change the art.
smang Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 I was actually wondering that as well, but for shipping to Europe. From what I was able to gather the custom checks seems to be completely random. Anyways paying around 40 pounds of customs and taxes for a 120 pound stick doesn't sound so bad. Anyone with some experience in this matter? I'm in London UK, ordered the midnight HRAP V4 from play asia. it all arrived fine, but a few days later i got a separate letter from Fedex asking for about £30 customs fee.
RisingStars Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 My HRAP V4 came in. The stock gate is a flat black panel that can be easily removed, but to put an octo in, you'll need to drill 4 holes into the new gate to match where the screws go. I did it with a Sanwa GT-Y. It's pretty easy. You will need slightly longer screws to mount it, maybe 1 inch. I'm a modding novice, and it wasn't hard at all! Very, very happy with the results No hardware store carried the same kind of screw that was originally used. Did you just get a longer screw and screwed it into the actuator? Or did you actually find longer screws with the same threading? Margatroid, I completely understand your issue now. It is not very ergonomic. Compared to the HRAP V1, the buttons themselves do not curve at the same angle. For the HRAP V4, the buttons are much more parallel to the stick, causing your arm to be much more perpendicular to the stick to access the buttons, putting some strain on my wrist. For the HRAP V1, the curved layout of the buttons allow your arm and hands to come in at a better, more ergonomic angle.
Istillduno Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 I swear trying to get hold of a PS4 stick is taking the piss right now, origionally ordered with Amazon when it was "temporarily unavailable" expecting it to come back in stock but then it changed to "currently unavailable" but never bothered to notify me that I was waiting on an order which would never come until I checked the stock myself since it was taking a while and asked customer services about orders before the status change. So I cancel that order and move over to Play Asia who had it set as "in-stock" when I ordered lo and behold, checking the status now and it's out of stock again, no sign of when it's coming back and they've already taken my money when I ordered. I've got no problems with people selling out of stuff but would it really have hurt Amazon to shoot an email across just to say "Don't wait for your order, we aren't getting any more" rather than waiting for me to stumble upon that myself? edit* Enquired with Play Asia to see if the change in status effects existing orders, hoping it doesn't change to completely unavailable if it does because I'm not sure how to go about getting a refund off them if they don't get any more in, got all my emails from them and paypal saved just in case.
nilcam Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 I ran into the same problem. Play-Asia had the midnight blue Hori shipping soon. A few days later the status was changed to sold out. When I contacted them, they hoped to get it in to send to me. They've changed their system to make cancelling orders harder. Then Mad Catz screwed the pooch. My eBay order is moving through customs now. You'd think that either MC or Hori would be kicking out sticks to meet the seemingly endless demand.
Istillduno Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Oh, did you manage to get you money back? Really worried about this because I paid with a debit card through paypal as a guest and I do not want to be leaving my money with them if they don't have the goods. As it is I'm leaving it till the 26th which is the latest shipping date I was given then cancelling and going for that refund if it hasn't arrived and been shipped. If this doesn't work I might look into taking apart a ps4 pad and just making one myself if the PCB doesn't make it too fiddly to solder, done it before with a PS1 controller but risking wrecking a 50 quid controller is quite a bit more nerve wracking than a 5 quid one so I hope it doesn't come to that lol.
RisingStars Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 for those looking to put an octagon gate (sanwa GT-Y) on the hrapv4/hayabusa... I don't wholly reccomend it. To hit the corners, 1,3,7,9, you really need to hit spot on corners of the octagon. This transition has made it a little harder for me to hit these inputs compared to other sticks that I have used.

Play-Asia is honest so I don't think you'll lose your money. I paid by credit card and the charge had already fallen off the account by the time I cancelled.
nilcam Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Finally got my Hori RAPv4 in on Saturday. This is, hands down, the most beautiful stock stick I've ever owned. The sticker has a nice glossy coating on it that is absolutely beautiful. The Hyabusa stick is amazing and I really like the Kuro buttons. Bravo, Hori, bravo.
APinkBuny Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I was finally able to find and order my fightstick for PS4. Ordered the Hori Rap4 Silent blue version. So if you want/need a stick and don't want to wait till April for Madcatz. Go to Nin-Nin they have the Hori Silent Edition in stock. I ordered mine last night and spent the extra money for 4 day shipping. It only ran me 235 US which is most likely the same price you'll spend on a Madcatz stick but with out the 3-4 month wait time.
