  1. Rev 2 costs $20 as an expansion / new game. It comes with a new story and brings arcade story cinematic to characters that released with out them. PS4 will have both Digital and Physical releases all other platforms are digital only. The Physical copy will also cost $20 (more than likely). Since it's an expansion / new game it will come with 2 new characters and all the characters already released. If you have Rev you don't have to worry about it. I'd say there's a very small chance they'd have some one pay for characters that were on Rev if you didn't have it before. As for release dates Spring is for Arcade and console release will be a little later. As for the cost of the game, if you don't have $20 to buy a game, you have bigger problems in life.
  2. Well it's not much better on PS4. I continually see no one online anywhere near Cali. This means I gotta connect to New York and fight frame drops and lag all day. Sad Times.
  3. All things related to the Axl vs Raven match up. After playing against Raven for a long set I can honestly say that Raven is a very hard match up for Axl. If Raven gets off his fireball mixup game it feels like Axl no longer has options to get out of the mixup's and is stuck in the Raven set play. Anyway I'm sure those Axl gods out there have some tips and tech to share.
  4. I think Stylish mode is a good way for beginners to figure out what types of combos you should be doing with your character, as a general How to Play X. However, if some one really wants to learn the game then they need to learn the game and the mechanics. With mission mode, tutorial, combo, and of training mode with a record feature there is really no reason a 100% new player couldn't learn this game.

  6. Just my 2 cents about the separation from good to great. Skills the great players have are.. 1. Match Up knowledge - they know what moves are punishable and not punishable. 2. Knowledge - They know every combo your likely to do and how to get out of it. 3. Time - They put it as much time as possible into the game. 4. Execution - Their combo's are at a 90+% execution rate. 5. Practice. - They only practice with people of the same skill or higher. 6. Click - Kinda goes back to number 5. There is a click in every FG where they can practice with amazingly skilled players all the time. 7. Defense - They actually block and are good at blocking. The biggest thing they have is a FGC where they live. Living in a city where the community is strong is a huge plus. A lot of places do not have this and so most of time if you want to practice it's online. Online play regardless of the connection speeds will have lag and so moves that would be punishable are now not, escape tools no longer work, and in come cases unsafe strings are no completely safe..ie online Chip, Millia and several others.
  7. To me it makes sense that SRK doesn't have anything GG related. SRK has been nothing more than a Street Fighter hype train from what I've seen the last few years. So I doubt they will ever put in GG stuff outside of patch notes and possible click bait. The reasons I think GG is a small community compared to say Street Fighter. 1. Stiffer learning curve. 2. Characters are harder to master. 3. Inputs matter - there's no shortcuts ie doesn't give you a DP 4. No huge payouts for tournies. Your not going to see 50k payouts in the US for winning a major in GG. On the other hand Xrd is a beautiful looking game. The art for the stages, characters, and even the moves blow everything else out of the water. The game also rewards people for their time ie. the better you become the more fun you can have. To play GG you need skills. Capcom games made it very easy to get "good" with poor execution and put a lot of really bad habits into the current FGC. So for those people who say "grew up" with SF4 will find GG far to hard to play. I do think that once we get more regular Xrd tourny streams, majors, and of course Evo the community will grow slowly.
  8. Yea I'm pretty sure the app your talking about is the phone version of the arcade card for the arcade. This allows you to tap a card that will select your character, color, and button layout. It also tracks and records your win/loss ratio and pits it against every one else in japan. Since America doesn't have arcades anymore we wont get the app nor the card.
  9. The only fighter I play is GGxrd. Actually I might now a bunch of you already. I used to hit up every SF4 tourny at UAT a while back under the name Smoketank.
  10. Hi all I just wanted to say that I finally have access to a car and can finally make it out to our locals. So excited!! Also, if anyone is interested I can host on Fridays preferably during the day ie 12-4 but I can see if I can push this more towards 6-10pm. What to know is I only own a PS4 so if you only have a PS3 stick make sure to bring a PS3. I'm in Mesa just off country club and main. This is an apartment so I can only really host about 4 people. If anyone is interested just send me a PM. Personally I'd love to make this an every Friday thing so everyone can practice.
  11. While I can see that some people if they use my step one could gain some serious bad habbit's. If you use training mode the right way you will learn. What I mean by taking the time to learn you character is this. 1. Put BnB's into muscle memory. 2. Learn a few corner combo's, frame traps. 3. Learn the spacing and frame data of your moves. 4. Learn how to start your combo strings. 5. Use the Record mode in training mode and make the character your fighting go into their strings. Learn how to break out of them. 6. Learn with the Record function what moves can beat other's special moves. 7. Learn how to move in Guilty Gear ie. Instant Air Dash, how to Jump...ect Going online with out knowing BnB's, 1 or 2 corner combos', or understanding what your normal's spacing/antiair/frame data will not make a fun experience online. Does it have to be a month? No, but I see to many people that pick a character jump online and then say a character sucks or the game sucks because they have no idea how to play the character or the game. Even if you picked up bad habits this way you'll be better at seeing them in the end. Why would you be better at seeing them? Because you took the time to learn your normal's. So ie. if you keep using 6H and get punished every time then you know that your f.S might be better suited to the task for hitting a far away opponent. Then the person tries f.S the next round and realizes that this is a safer option. How did they come to this conclusion simple they now what their normal's are. They figured it out on the fly and now know not to use 6H so much. They didn't need 20 matches and some one on a mic to tell them because they know their character. I'm not saying this is fool proof. I'm saying don't go online with a character when you only spent 20 min's in challenge mode got stuck on challenge 10 and jump online.
  12. Yea I love this app I just switched mains so this is great for learning MU's when I'm out and before/after a match if I keep getting hit by a move. I'll just have to learn the English names for moves but it's all good.
  13. Yea I've been able to Dash out when against Sol, Millia, Leo, and Slayer today.
  14. Really great app just started using this as I finally got a tablet. One suggestion I have is could you put in an option to use the Japanese names of special moves instead of the English. Maybe there's already an option to change the names and I haven't found it yet.
  15. I've attempted the dash parry multiple times but it never works. Tho I suspect it works offline or in games where you in 3F lag or less. Most of games are 4F-7F which is why Dash Parry doesn't seem to work. I'll test this in training mode tho. For the FD into 6H. When under pressure if your FD'ing the opponent is slowly getting pushed back. How far they are being pushed is determined by the level of the attack. Once the person is in say 5H range you can use 6H instead. 6H has a small parryish window so when they ground dash back in you will teleport behind them hit them and then can cancel it into Task C. If the opponent doesn't try to dash forward your 6H will leave you in front of them instead but you'll still be able to combo into Task C.
  16. Yea I'm just in the beg stage of working in Tech. So far working on the insane cross up potential of Task A setup's with 6H and such. But I'm def making huge gains. Just from today alone I'm able to break a lot of top tier characters and just solid players in general.
  17. Yea this morning I figured out a few way to get out of crazy corner pressure. Here's what I found so far. Listing this encase this was just luck. 1. FD into 6H. Found that if the opponent tries to go back in from the ground I'll teleport behind them. 2. 2K-2D combo at the right time can lead into an escape. 3. Superjump. It's really not safe but I got out once. Anyway thats what I found so far. That with not going so ham on YRC I can just blitz out. Also on an unrelated note its fun as hell to use the sheep super as a huge shield to move in :P
  18. Just started taking my Bedman online yesterday. So far so good since I'm slowly lvling up. My question is what do I do when I stuck in the corner? Things I've tried. FD-Tho I haven't had much luck doing this since I'm usually low on meter due to YRC'ing. Also when I do have the meter to FD to push them back they generally shove me right back in. 2P - I've tried using 2P in the micro gaps but it just doesn't seem to get me out. I've attempted many other things and it just seems like once I'm in the corner it's GG. Well its GG if the person I'm fighting has corner combo's. Anyway, for people have some get out of corner tech they could share that would be great.

  20. I have 4 tips about breaking bad habits. I hope these tips give the OP the help he/she wanted and helps others. 1. When picking a main or even a sub. Spend 1 month in training mode. No online matches, no real matches. Understand the characters spacing, speed, and put combo's into muscle memory. 2. When fighting a person whether it be online or offline. When you get punished for doing a move its most likely unsafe. Stop this immediately. 3. Replays. Always, always, always re-watch your games after you done playing. Really look at what you doing and see what you could have done differently. Most importantly write down those changes on paper. 4. Frame data. Look at your characters frame data and now what is plus, minus, and really minus. Also look at other characters frame data and see what they are plus and minus on. The biggest thing about bad habits is in general you don't know they are bad. If your losing say 80 to 90% of the time then 9 times out of 10. Your doing some thing wrong. There is some thing in game plan that is very unsafe and you MUST change it. The only way to do so is to do the steps above. I hope this helps.

Essentially just trying to figure out how to jump over some one, stop, then hit diagonal in the direction I just came.
  22. I have a question about Bedman 8-way movement. So now that I have an arcade stick I can finally play Bedman and he is everything I hoped for. Now, for the question. When going into training mode to master his 8-way movement I was doing..note this will get kind of technical. Originally I was hitting 88 in around 600 milliseconds or just over half a second. Then I started doing 88 in 1 full second to 1.2 seconds. The question is just how fast should I be trying to trigger float? I want to make sure I'm being optimal. Also I've been trying to do that cross up float into diagonal with 98(1or3) but I constantly get a straight jump after the cross up. Whats the right way to get that cross up? Is it 99(1 or 3) to go the cross up float?

  24. Oh I just wanted to add something to my original post. Once the changes hit Axl there will be no real need to have a sub for Axl. Once he get's that knockdown added, which is really all he needed. The match up's that are really bad will get a whole lot smoother.
  25. Well for me I played Reload for years never picked up the other games until Xrd. So my route was actually Slayer main and Axl sub. However Slayer just doesn't feel right to me so I mained full time Axl. As for Sub's I really like how Bedman plays so I've been subbing him. Granted I'm still waiting for my fightstick to ship from Japan so I can really test out Bedman but I think Axl, Bedman is a good combo.
