alucard19 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 s. means standing c. means crouch. As the title say. Characters with a hop back dash can create instant overheads. Just back dash then YRC asap and quickly input an attack. If done fast enough you'll get a overhead. ky. use slash for your Yrc instant overhead. u can follow up with whatever u want(s.s,c.k, etc). tested on. works on everyone?more testing needed. Venom. use punch, then c.slash. kinda tight combo so dont delay c.slash. combo to whatever. tested on Sol,Zato,Chipp. should work on most of the cast. doesn't work on milllia. Axl. use kick, c.p. to whatever. tested on chipp, may, Millia. should work on most if not all. Pot. attack seem to slow for the back hop yrc trick to work. edit: thank u for the correction sagacious.Pot can used back hop yrc dust for a overhead. Sol. unfortunately his air punch and kick whiff over almost everyone, but bedman,Pot, and maybe leo(dont have him, so i cant test it out. i just know he's a big character).need more testing. update. Dragon install sol can use back hop yrc, then slash for a instant overhead. Faust. use kick for your overhead nice angle to boot. follow up with c.p. combo to whatever. tested on Ram. should work on everyone tho. Ram.use kick and then use s.slash with sword equip. her air kick is short range but it has a good attack angle. should work on everyone. tested only on Faust. Mixup option. High. back dash yrc overhead Low. back dash yrc low throw.yrc, throw. or not, might be a waste with this one,up too u. not sure if this is new or not but i never seen it done before. i came up with the idea when i notice sol was airborne when i back dashed, so i yrc and tried to input an attack and it worked. i wounder if this made ky a hell of a lot better?!
Dreiko Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I saw it when watching Ramlethal Japanese pros a few weeks ago but despite not being new, it's definitely not commonplace enough.
Dime_x Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I figured this out right away, but only because of previous experience with fighting games such as samurai showdown where ukyo could backdash and then cancel his low airborn backdash into his air fireball, giving him a wonderful ground space control tool. Idk how powerful it would be on GG seeing as to how theres a big yellow flash before the overhead plus astute opponents might be able to see the airborn frames of a backdash and know that the opponent CANT do a low, such as leo. But its still more than likely worth it, especially against not super reactive people. A more prudent question is what characters can get combos off of these falling away overheads. Leo has a backdash yrc overhead into j.P but i couldnt find easy ways to combo from it... Though i didnt test against crouchers either and probably should have now that i think about it.
alucard19 Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 At Dime x. Everyone can combo off the back dash yrc overhead. I posted a follow up attack after every instant overhead.. If u want a mixup just back dash yrc and then go for a low attck instead of a instant over head to keep them guessing.
Mumm-Ra Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Faust already has drill fdc so this is pretty useless for him
rubedo777 Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 This is not an instant overhead, the yellow flash gives you a big enough window to identify what is happening and to react.
alucard19 Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 if thats the case why dont japs block millia hair car yrc overhead?i'll admit it does look faster, but by your logic, the 'yellow flash gives you a big enough window to identify what is happening and to react'. which is not true. its a good 50/50, in my opinion, especially for someone that doesnt have a good over head at all. ky and sol(dragon install sol).well, sol does have air dragon install yrc,but not sure how practical that is. updated first post on dragon stall.
sagacious Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 I've done some testing on this, and I think the most useful ones are Ramlethal (with sword setups) and Ky. Ky can either do a j.S or land and do 2D, and the j.S can easily combo into knockdown on crouching it. If that's rhythm-blockable then it's still damn hard, and it gives him a safe overhead where he didn't have one before. Faust can always combo off his bdyrc jK but he doesn't need it. Chipp can do j.P into f.S into pressure or just do j.D for knockdown which is nice. Venom can actually do j.P to 2D for a knockdown and ball setup. Potemkin can do bdyrc j.D which looks funny. thanks for writing about dragon install Sol, I didn't even think to test that lol here's my .txt: i wrote yes if i could combo into knockdown off it. yes: ky jS -> s 236k za jk -> 2d po jd fa jp, jk-> fs or dash5p2d or 2h 236s ra jk -> stuff ch jd, or jp -> fs stuff? ax jk -> 2d (rensengeki) ve jp -> 2d no: sin backdash is grounded sol jk hits standing but not crouching i-no backdash moves too far backwards mi jk and jp can connect but no combo afterwards; cry me a river, millia ma nothing connects, though you can jd into a falling attack for ok spacing... el nothing connects. tk BE yrc might give a more risky high/low/throw sl backdash is grounded be backdash is grounded le nothing connects
alucard19 Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 thank u sagacious, for helping out bro and for the correction on pot being able to use this as well.
jimmy Posted January 14, 2015 Posted January 14, 2015 mi jk and jp can connect but no combo afterwards; cry me a river, millia thanks for testing these, one thing I'd note is that Millia can combo with this meterless if she has a disk out. I've seen Millia's use this a quite a bit on oki so it's very practical
BlackJustin13 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 el nothing connects. tk BE yrc might give a more risky high/low/throw I had a feeling Elphelt wouldn't benefit too much from this. Her ideal overhead (j.s) has some pretty short horizontal range and a backdash would probably put her out of reach
