tolore Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 So I believe I found a bug with blocking, it's easiest to reproduce with Leo. In leo back turn stance attacker dos bt.S->BT.H which is a an air tight blockstring, blocker presses 1 to block the first hit then immediately goes to 7 to block the over head. This will cause him to get hit by the overhead while crouching. The weird thing is this is applied randomly. It always happens with leo's back turned block string, it happens with ky stun edge frc->dust, but it does not happen with millia heavy disk->6k, but it DOES happen with milliak 2k->RC->6K(the defender might have to faultless the first hit for this to happen). It also doesn't happen with any multi hit projectiles because the extra mid hit will make the defender stand while holding 7.
SuperJ Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 bt.H hits crouchers on frame 20 (actually bt.S-H doesn't even combo on standing faust). hth?
LunaKage Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 Don't try to block an overhead with 7, you block overheads with 4. If you press 7, your character will try to jump. It sounds to me like your character is getting hit out of jump startup as a frame trap, and while I'm not sure about GG, I know that in BB certain strings would cause you to get hit crouching if you tried to block high for the low in the string. For example, using 2B > 2C as Noel, if her opponent blocks high after blocking 2B, she will get hit low by 2C, but will still be in crouching state.
tolore Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Well I'm actually the leo player in this scenario. I don't believe it's hitting out of jump start up, it's giving the yellow exclamation like you blocked the wrong way and it's still a crouching hit(IE a crouching only combo would work).
Dude Butts Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 good find, my hunch is that there are pre-jump frames that are taking priority before it registers any change in block direction, whereas if you blocked with 4 for the first hit and 7 for the 2nd, it would just be autoguard during those pre-jump frames. also there might be more pre-jump frames during crouching or something.
