Well how many Japanese Axls are there? 3 that are any good maybe?

Hmmm...Shuuto, Niiyama, KON is okay, and I've seen Kaqn play Axl before.

The theory that it only works off a JCable move may hold some water.

Let's try to find out HOW this is made possible ! Do you know sb who has enough knowledge to answer ?

Maybe shall we post the question in an other thread so people would help. Maybe even ask so with a programmable controller...

There's no denying that KAQN is good, and that he's sometimes played Axl, but is he good at Axl? I haven't seen too many vids of it, but I wasn't horribly impressed.

I was just name-dropping. Personally, I think Shuuto and Niiyama are the only good JP Axls.

Alright, got that answer by the top tier of this forum ^^

Like Clayton said, it's because of the super jump. Super jump, double jump, finishing (or cancelling) an air dash cause you to turn around immediately in the air.

So that would explain why you actually only get a forward dash on stand alone raiei or after sJI'ing it on a JC'ble move before the Raiei...

Also the last part make me think of this...

On (normal) jump installed moves, you get an air backdash. So it sometimes is harder to make the j.HS to hit if you don't cross (needs to wait the end of the air dash animation for that...) However, he did say "(or canceling)". Does that mean there's a way to turn faster to get that j.HS hit if you don't cross ? By FD'ing/ SB'ing for example... Too tired to figure that out now... Maybe DW could use more of his "free time" for that ? ^^

What, you can ? I mean when you hit the other's sprite so that you don't cross again ? Never got to make it work. But can you combo with 5+K on landing after the hit ? And I was wondering : Can you cancel a dash with FD or Slash back ?

Wait, do you mean Raei (FRC Blocked): Air backdash for re-crossup? Yeah, that works.

And I was wondering : Can you cancel a dash with FD or Slash back ?

Yes.

No, I meant it doesn't double cross-up. So it makes you back dash into the face of the opponent. I meant AIR back/front dash Then, FDing your back dash would make you turn faster and you could actually hit j.HS by facing the opponent in the situation cited above ?

Well, I know slashbacking makes an air forward dash turn around as soon as you're on the other side of the opponent, not sure on that one, but probably.

But I've definitely been able to re-crossup with a back airdash. Maybe doesn't work on some characters, or maybe it's because they IB the Raei.

Then normal jump installing the move would enable you to : 1) Forward dash on the other direction of the enemy-> FD/SB-> j.S (can hit, as you now face the opponent) 2) back dash toward the enemy-> FD/SB-> j.HS-> 5+K-> pressure/combo (can be done if not crossing) Of course, I get the hit when double crossed up, but my question was if you made the Raiei from too far.

Yeah, but it does cost you 25% MORE to do it safe... Whereas you can always FD your landing after the air dash stop if you see it will be bad...

It's funny how one can change his mind in only few days...

I like the second thing about when Raiei(S) is blocked, but comboing with a Kokku FRC seems like a waste of tension to me.

Heh. I hear an echo in here. :psyduck:

^^

Well, I admit you can't combo after a j.S here, whereas you can after a kokuu...

BTW how do you do your instant air back dash kokuu thing ? I can't manage to do it. The input is 632144+S right ? where the second 4 is just after the first ?

The difference is that in Sking's post (the one we were responding to) he brings up a situation where a Kokuu FRC offers no clear advantage; here, it sounds as though DW is saying that a Kokuu FRC would be more likely to hit, which is ALWAYS an advantage. By the way, DW, I see that you're trash-talking Teyah in your user banner. :keke:

Exactly. Kokuu FRC as a COMBO from Raei FRC is a complete waste of meter. Doing it after it's blocked is a GREAT idea (as even if they block the Kokuu, it builds a lot of guardbar)

Welllll... Not just Teyah. I'm pretty experienced against Eddie, Slayer, and Testament in general.

So every once in awhile when I am reading this forum, I come across "meaty Rashousen". How exactly is that done? It seems really tricky to land a Rashousen that meaty considering you can't do the unblockable until the opponent has woken up.

Posted

It refers to hitting with a rashousen at the end of an untechable slide caused by Raei (S) at the end of a short combo. It's seldom worth it, in my opinion, as you can often get more damage by just doing a longer combo.

:keke: You didn't understand me, Like DW tried to said double crossup is always and advantage for many reasons:

1. Your opponent needs to hold and wait till all happens

2. That lead you to more thick throws opportunities

3. WTF!!! I never saw that shit

4. That another trick underyour sleeve

5. allows you to be more rushing and make your opponent think twice before triying to counter attack

6. Blah blah blah...

The thing is that more crossups, fake-crossups you have and use the more scarier and dangerous you'll be :eng101:

So, for a while I was trying to learn S Benten FRC. I could get it half the time or maybe a bit more in training. But I'd almost never get it in a match, and then, a day or so later, I wasn't getting it very often at all. How long does it generally take you guys to learn FRCs? I dunno if I just have terrible timing in general...

Posted

First FRC was Rensen FRC, and that took me like 2-3 months to learn. But, first FRC is always the hardest... Subsequent ones haven't been too difficult to get down. No more than a week.
