First time actually fighting a platinum player, got bodied all night by this dude. Though were good friends it helps me realize I don't know jack about this match-up. I'll practice again her in the training room and read up on it but please provide a little insight on what I may be doing wrong in this match-up. Her 6a is pretty godlike from the looks of it.

Midscreen BE? What were you trying to do with that D.ID ender with KD should be the only thing you would want. Wouldn't advise to let a Zoning charecter to be all free like that. Yea the plat match up isn't as complicated it as it looks, You just have to know what her items do and what her mix up game is. 1:45 of that video you gave up a 2k damage combo and KD again for what ever reason :/

Its more preferable to do a GH after a 5b for you have many more options other then that afterwards.

5b 2b / 5b GH / 5b 3c / 5b 2b 66 2b/ 5b 2b 66 throw / 5b 2b 2c / etc Just about giving your opponent less time to think instead using all those Mid-hitting normals.

I always use 5c after a 2c

2c GH

2c 6c

2c 5c -to catch a punish attempt-

2c 3c

2c Gh and 2c 6c have huge gaps inbetween the gatlings for a charecter with a reversal. Correct me if im wrong

I liked how you used 6b on the opponents wake up, never use it in a block string very obvious animation, but online who reacts to the shit anyway. with 50 meter 6b is your best friend in the corner I'm very reserved with it.

HF/3c whatever Kd. Opponent neutral techs. Throw / 2c to catch mashing / or 6b / 2b cause its a low/ 2a xn frame trap/ or 2a into whatever blockstring etc.

If the 6b lands in the corner the most a very strong combo would be - 6b 5c 6c BK 6d JC BE 5d DS 6s ID > 236c - Kick follow up > fall Aerial GH land > 5d > HF + follow up > 44 3c >HF + follow up> DBD

should be around 6,000 damage. You can get 6k off the throw as well if you manage to land that with 50 meter. But Ragna life sucking as it is they burst and your in a huge disadvantage being in BK and all :/

Feels good when you know someone can defeat you. Motivates you to become better and actually turn out to be one of the best out there. Provide tips where necessary, thank you.

First video

0:43 explain the Random GH's you like to do im confused. 0:57 5b 6a Supppeeer Jump j.c, A Good player of anycharecter would have violated you for that. 1:02 6c Dash cancel grab. Stop abusing unexperienced players. 1:07 Wouldn't try a 6b with out proper conditioning to tell the opponent to not mash and block low. 1:45 Why is that even working D:. 1:50 I advise using 6d at a close distance otherwise its just plain unsafe and not even a mix up really, 5a 6d <-- good distance. if they tried to do something stupid they will get CH, but mind its a slow move. 1:58 I hope your not getting any bad habits with that 6c Dash cancel, the better mix up for that would be 6c first hit DASH CANCEL throw or whatever - saw kaqn do that, and I as well a few times. 2:40 why did you rapid after the 2c, it would have been more confusing to 2c 6c first hit rapid into whatever. 2:43 Heeeeey your did something neat.

Second video

1:05 Im so confused for that situation right there. 1:15 great read. 1:26 Noooo sadeyo never give up the corner you shoulda after the C.ID 66 5c 5d(1hit) 44 3c 22c for meter and ITS NOT EVER YET oki. 1:56 You dropped an input or something? 3:03 Forgot to tell you, You jump entirely to much Super Mario Brothers featuring Jin and Raguna. 3:10 There you go again Trying to be Mario. 3:35 I see you wanted to go for a simplistic kill, nothing wrong with that just it didn't look like it would have killed him entirely.

I think he understands the Litchi match-up really well.

I really need some help improving. I'm getting worse now, can't really land anything on an opponent, human or AI. Here are some examples.

Ouch Tong, let's at least give some pointers.

1) B>C>Hell's Fang is not a block string. Better players will punish you hard for that. In general, you need to work on hit confirming. Go into training mode, and set the dummy to random block. A good exercise is to do 5B>5C. If they're blocking, do Dead Spike. If they're hit, do Hell's Fang.

2) Block more. You're mashing waaaay to much in some of these. In one match with Hakumen you got counter hitted 4 times by 4 attacks in a row.

3) Look at the CS2 combo thread. Some of your stuff is stuck in CS1, like doing GH mid combo.

Big answer is training mode. Which is sort of the most boring part. First learn CS2 combos. Looked like you were doing CS1 stuff. Practice some hit confirms off a jumping training dummy.

It may also help to find someone at your level and just spare with them. The more games you get in the better you'll ease into everything.

If someone wants to play i'll be on for a while. I'd like to get some pointers.

Yeah, I know I was doing CS1 stuff. I know CS2, I just wasn't prepared for getting hits, plus I do have the dummy in training mode on random block and practice. I just can't do it in a real match.

I have no one to spar with, and I have been practicing a lot.

If you can't do it in a match, then you're not practicing correctly. Do it in steps. Start from trying to hit confirm correctly 10 times in a row, then 20, then 30. Keep increasing it until it feels natural. If starting off with 5B>5C feels too difficult, do 2A>5B>5C. I know, it sounds stupid, and will be boring, but it will help your game out immensely.

Guess I'll try offer some critique.

Be careful with 6A. This matchup in particular, 6A seems like it'd be a great tool, but Tao can just dance around it all day, and should easily be able to punish a whiffed 6A. I'd only really use 6A if you know for sure it'll hit. 5A anti-air isn't too bad in this matchup either.

Work on the 5B>5C air hit confirm. A few times you caught Tao with 5B>5C while she was in the air, but you didn't really make any use of it, so she could just tech in the air, and you don't get any knockdown on her, which is exactly what you need against Tao.

Better knockdown pressure. Whenever you did get a knockdown, your pressure felt lacking. I know one time in the first video, you had her down in the corner, but tried to air throw her, losing any kind of pressure game you could of had. If she's down and has no meter, go crazy with blockstrings, as there's really nothing she can do about it. Abuse 6D (like someone mentioned, this Tao throws out alot of lows). I could see that when she did have meter though, you were cautious about that wake up berserker barrage, and you were pretty unlucky at the end of the first video, lol.

Use your meter. You died with 100 meter too much, when you could've very easily done a Counter Assault to get her off you.

That's about all I could really notice tbh. Tao is a stupid matchup anyway :v:

Some of Ragna in action since Friday and I thought the fights were really entertaining. Decided to post a few of the exciting matches between Jin and Ragna. The other few videos provided, I'll gladly provide a helpful opinion towards your Ragna in order for you to learn. On the other note, it's important to attend the training room religiously as a Ragna player. He's not hardcore execution heavy but his cross-ups to some hit-confirm is definitely essential to get down.

D Divider doesnt have invicibility anymore.

And If you have the chance, never ever give up corner, even on a combo. When you landed that 6C you could've crossundered to continue your combo AND give back your precious corner.

Nothing wrong with you, just optimize your combos and you're good to go.

See guys, weird stuff won't happen to an offline Ragna.
