accompany_on Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 you dont usually use standing tatami on its own. usually, tatami follows after a c.D, f.HS etc. So sometimes using it "alone" confuses the enemy and you'll just be surprised that they are actually hit.
accompany_on Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 so far for me baiken's real trouble is with Axl. Even not-so-skilled Axl players give me a hard time.

suru Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 If standing mats make you nervous, try backdash mat (backdash, not back airdash), decent footsie tactic. But seriously, just popping up a 236k keeps them from getting too cocky - you think something's coming from a bit far out and you can start fishing for counterhit launchers. I get so many people running face-first into normal ground tatami. Just be smart with placement and timing - set it up so people poke into it obviously. Not the safest thing to play footsies with, but it's got its moments. I guess YMMV. I don't like spamming back-iad mats like some players because they're slow, and seriously nobody is really stupid enough to run into them. Playing with way too much distance, and if you try to start from close, you're definitely getting anti-air'd. It's good in some situations, but other times you just gotta put your foot down right where you're standing :P. Thoughts on I-no match: 6p is nice, straight-up beats chem-ai with basically no timing, beats most dash-ins as a bonus. iad mats are a no-no. 2s/5s(f) are better than usual, for some reason I get away with spamming them more in this match. Counterhit anti-air 5s(f) is always nice too.

accompany_on Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I found the P counter to be quite effective against I-no. For ex, once she does her music bubble usually she dashes in on u. So P-counter on the bubble on the right time to hit the dashing i-no on the air....and usually it launches her up.

Wicked Cricket Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Ky relies on long strings involving 6HS and 6K which can't be JC-ed so he must change his game to win vs Baiken. It's baikens advantage, really

suru Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Back iad tatami spam gets nailed by counterhit stun edge into big corner combo :P. It's not too bad against Slayer because he doesn't have many ways to stop you, I guess.

moonlessnite480 Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 I know. It's one of those habits that I can't seem to shake off. When I'm thinking about it I only use it to but a barrier of sorts between me and the player...but other times im just being random lol. :P

THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 Back iad tatami spam gets nailed by counterhit stun edge into big corner combo :P. It's not too bad against Slayer because he doesn't have many ways to stop you, I guess. yeah but a well placed CH pilebunker baiken will shit herself...literately and she'll see birds, too. Pcounter vs. Ino in generally is a no-no cause you'll get baited every time and lose half life to 3/4 everytime. Also dont be scared to run Ino down she cant do much but try to hit you with 6p and StBT which can easily be countered with smart use of FD brake. Millia vs. Baiken is bad for baiken because if you get knocked down and guess wrong your dead. You cant use counters effectively in her standard rushdown cause it all gets baited. 5p and 6p(flower hair move if that 6p) beats out all jumpins. if you do T.Mat to high she can run under it and hit you with 5p into air combo. Air to Air baiken wins but a smart millia shouldnt jump with baiken. Its just to hard to get a solid hit in this match...Does any1 have an idea as to what to do with this match?

suru Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 As I said before, I don't like to spam back-iad tatami. And dude, if you got pilebunkered in the crotch it's because you're too damn close :P. I don't try that iad mat shit when I'm right on top of them. Millia vs. Baiken is bad because nothing is safe. You can't drop mats reliably, chain gets rolled through, etc. The only real thing you have going for this match is, you do a lot more damage than she does, and she has less health than you. It's kind of like the Baiken vs. Pot match in reverse ... kind of.

THE SERAPHIC 1 Posted December 30, 2005 Author Posted December 30, 2005 yeah usually when i get CH PB is cause i did 1 to many T.mats. baiken vs. pot in reverse...precisely couldnt have thought of a better explanation for the match myself^^ Baiken vs Anji all i do is rain T.mats all match long i dont know if anji can do anything to stop it or what but that all i do till anji fucks up and get CH t.mat and loses near half lifebar pre-guts. My goal in this match is to annoy and piss the anji player off to the best of my ablity and force him to make mistakes. i say this i one of the matches were baiken has control of the match. As far as butterfly trap goes either do Slash if he attacks or K if does a dodge and retaliate. Advantage baiken Vs. Johnny i dont remeber to well, but i say jio and I used to break about even based on who got hit hard 1st. I this an even matchup? *SDV* *SDV*

moonlessnite480 Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 hmm interesting information there. I LIKE!!! As long as you don't IAD mat in their face you're good to go but I think the other guy said that already oh well HEAR IT AGAIN! I'd say something about matchups...but well whatever!
