I just block 2d rather than trying to beat it out. FD pushes it out of range for any meaningful followup unless he it did it right in your face...

The scary part about 2d isn't that he throws it out and u try to beat it when it does, but rather that he can cancel into 2d from a regular move that you just tried to sakura counter - so I figure stop spamming counters against sol and he'll stop spamming 2d against you. or Vipers, which is the response to the p counter if he's expecting it

RK loses wakeup lvl3 ground missile against baiken. RK wins this matchup still because of his other strengths but at least his oki isn't as good against baiken. but u can say that about any char's oki >_>

Situational isn't a bad thing on its own, but you have to consider how limited the situation is. If 2d will beat 6k in all cases except for one or two, 6k isn't really a good response in general. In reality, Baiken doesn't have good ways to beat 2d most of the time.

2d is a problem because, combined with dp, it prevents you from really playing offensively. I don't know of any safe way to play rushdown against Sol because while dps can be baited and punished, 2d is hard to do anything about.

Yoshijin only works provided Sol actually follows 2d with anything. If he just 2ds and then stops, Yoshijin won't counterhit, and Sol gets free combo.

One other random thing about Sol matchup - he can Grand Viper your chain on reaction.

As long as Sol is sliding along the ground during GV, 6K goes right over him. Once he starts to come up for the uppercut, 6K will stagger him (or you'll trade hits if he's close enough). When the uppercut actually comes out (and is all fiery and stuff), he's too high and 6K is useless.

umm i was just trying it out and i couldn't get Baiken to snuff out GV while Sol was doing the sliding part  could you elaborate a bit?

it doesnt really matter, cause no sol would do GV at a distance where you could even stick 6k out and even if he did most likely you can IAD back T.mat for the win.

If the GV was "telegraphed" that easily, then you might as well just jump up and over the GV and run over to punch Sol in the face for being a douche when he lands.

Could anyone give some advice/suggestions on the Faust match-up? I'm interested in hearing what other people think about this fight.

If you're hanging in the air, definitely look out for 6p and 5k. Do not recklessly spam tatamis. Those moves will kill you bad. Oh, and his j.hs, especially the FDC low to the ground one. That thing is something like 60% of the screen. Some players like to take the JC combo upon sweeping faust. Baiken can even sweep faust and do a low j.d for a dust loop. Either take that or the knockdown. I'm thinking though as playing Baiken, you don't get many damage opportunities so I think I'd go for the damage. I'm in no way an authority on this match. This is just off the top of my head.
