1. what.

2. except when it comes to litchi she can just grab you instead of doing a j.b, I see litchi's do it when they think you can jump.

3. yes I am and she has three dragons which may not be fast but can catch you off guard if you choose to attempt a punish.

4. you never been purple grabbed before obviously.

5. she's suppose to do it after a knockdown anyways and she can control how it moves so its not so easily escapable.

just because you can react to litchi's mix-up doesn't mean its bad it just mean you can react to it, I thought haku-men has bad mix up until I fought some of the good ones like jackG and qwerty...I was dead wrong.

the thing with litchi is that you have to be patient, i learned patience a long time ago in this match-up will pay off in the end. And as tager i know that its a requirement in order to win at high level of play, therefore you shouldnt be getting hit by 3 dragons. Its is incredibly clear when you can go for the approciate punish.

I have been purple thrown before, but against litchi no i dont even get green thrown unless its during a back dash in the air or a tech trap. be aware of whats going, stay calm, be patient for, ct litchi anyway.

a litchi just went for a cross-up(j.b) today i blocked no problem.

Someone save every single post this guy makes, it's pure gold.

i just have to come in here to mention how much i love reading alex's posts.

this is a match-up thread for discussing rachel vs litchi match. not some free for all " i wanna post things completely off topic" to the discussion. A mod should really clean this thread up, i do as it suggest and post only about the match-up. every new recent post execpt for axis beast has had nothing to do with rachel vs litchi.

You make some good points on how to handle Litchi's oki but there isn't a universal answer. It definitely shows that you have experience in the matchup but there isn't a be all end all answer to Litchi's stuff.

Please do NOT quote an entire person's post just to get some meaningless one liner. I will not hesitate to delete posts that look like personal bickering that should be done in private messages. Also stay on topic. That is all.

Litchi is extremely predictable, hence why she's mainly a defensive/punish hard character. To a novice, many ok players and even some good players, her mixus are just as big as her breasts.

For example. During Great Wheel/Kokushi Musou l like to do 6a, haku, chun. That's a high-low-high that many people get flustered over. You can even skip 6a, or haku for low-high/high-high respectively. So you see, her mixups are very perky and hard to ignore. ^-^

Oh um... back to the matchup. O.O

To me, Litchi is very easy. Midrange is your worst enemy, zone range your best. l tend to block low considering Litchi's overhead combo is wack and needs heat. Her mixups (on me) never work, and her pressure stinks with manten. Why, l can sit there and trap her all day ^-^

Or l can approach from the air to bait tsubame. l hate being grabbed though, escape or not because my garden security dies and l need to summon them all over again.

be incredibly careful of commiting entirely to zoning. litchi's airdash j.b may just nail you right in the face and its incredibly hard to anti air that move.also watch for all green, and her throwing the staff at you preventing you from activating your rods, and taking away your pumpkin.

Thank you, and i know. Inorder to stand a decent chance in this match for rachel players, we just have to capatalize on litchi's weakness which is the lack of decent pressure strings, and mix-ups outside of certain set-ups like greet wheel(after a knockdown) and 13 orphans.

Even with the dd going up against an opponents block, litchi's normals are fairly slow(sadly not as slow or short ranged as rachels). And if you pay attention to her frame due to the fact that she is tall you can see the animation of her increasing her frame vertically. Her lows come out slightly slower as well, and her frame is incredibly low to the ground.

Not teching immediately after a reset in the corner makes it difficult for litchi players to decifer what to do when they dont have a dd they could use to force a neutral tech. Its also very important to be careful of doing anything(hitting buttons)when litchi is in range to hit you with 6b on the ground, her long sweep while having the pole, a long air dash j.b, or when she tangles her staff around her self and launches high low or mid, dp, or all green. while airborn look out for j.c/dp. every whiff or blocked normals that ahs extended recovery means we are safe to make a move for the most part

Its also important when using a character who needs to summon things to be affected, and that also is really terrible under pressure how to effectively prevent characters from landing

there combos, and how to somehow be allowed to summon things when not given the space.

l'm only worried about Ryuuiisou. l backdash Lichi's approach and punish.

I was in the corner for like 90% of the round against WoZscreamer. o.o He has a really good Litchi. Unfortunately though for him, he's not so used to Rachel's mixups (Who can blame him when i'm probably the only Rachel he fights XD), and like most Litchi's, and open book.

...But still scary o.o and l don't say that often.

5.5-4.5 Litchi's favor. IMO most fun matchup in CT. basic crap-

- Try not to hit too many buttons when she has staff. Unless you enjoy losing.

- You can play a fullscreen game against her, just watch for staff nonsense (6b/3c[m], 2d/5d) / ryuuisou / daisharin.

- AA'ing w/ 6A is kinda iffy, j.b can beat it clean. It works, just dont mash it expecting to win every time.

- BLOCK. And if you're knocked down in the corner, honestly just neutral tech and block w/e is coming your way.

Maybe more later idk. Basically use your brain here.

Today i fought a player named lord qua, and his litchi's pressure was alot different from other litchis pressure that im use to. he basically is playing cs litchi in ct, however the rod sets arent as fast of course. Anyway, i just wanted to post a new mix-up that was catching me due to not wanted to anti-air or jump when she was in range to j.b.

theres a moves where she twirls the stick downward from the sky with herself rapped around it. she can instant cross you up with it, rapid on landing and get a nasty combo for doing so. I didnt see any player in the room block it and everyone was at a very good skill level.

So just be on your toes i guess if shes hovering above your head ^.^
