CountBleck Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Poke on 6A start-up, or after he does sledge. Oh, god, seriously? Is it really THAT simple? I feel mildly dumber just believing I couldn't figure this out.
Konner Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 Try and IB the 6A or sledge. You'll have a large window to get him off of you with 5A or 2A. You should be able to jump out of that pretty easily. It's all about IB > your safest choice. If he's smart, he may start doing AC if you jump out too much.
Osuna Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 I don't know what it is, but I have huge problems with a good Tager, specifically one of his blockstrings, which, I've heard is crappy. But I can't even seem to get out of it. (5A)xN, 6A 5D Sledge A, repeat until Guard Crush Where exactly is the opening that I've heard so much about in this string, because I can't find it. I main Carl, and well...I really shouldn't be losing to this Tager 3-0 on a regular basis. There's a huge gap between 5A and 6A, and 6A and 5D and between sledgeA and 5A. the smallest gap is after sledgeA, but it should still be large enough for you to just 5A him.

My friend just learned about how annoying Carl's j.A is. QUICK JUMP AND MASH A, IT BEATS EVERYTHING
A.X.I.S. Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 My friend just learned about how annoying Carl's j.A is. QUICK JUMP AND MASH A, IT BEATS EVERYTHING if carl is jumping and mashing A then thats when you use 2A, the change in your hitbox will make him wiff and you make him eat a CH 2A into colider.

NumeroGaijin Posted March 11, 2010 Posted March 11, 2010 i used to hate that matchup and yeah Heroic is right 2A isnt reliable enough. A well timed 5C will catch him but other than that in most cases you are screwed by the wee man lol
Heroic_Legacy Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 i used to hate that matchup and yeah Heroic is right 2A isnt reliable enough. A well timed 2C will trade with him but other than that in most cases you are screwed by the wee man lol Fixed
A.X.I.S. Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Fixed they both work, hell i used 5A to stuff a dash in at a certain height. also how did you get the 720 D~C to work, whenever i do it the D comes out and the C is never read, any tips on this? tired of my 6A coming out pink.
Heroic_Legacy Posted March 12, 2010 Posted March 12, 2010 Go use Nu. Go do crescent feints. Then try Tager's 720D~C. Same timing, just more motions beforehand.
A.X.I.S. Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 thanks that helped a whole lot, now to do it with 5A 720.
Mike Z Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 also how did you get the 720 D~C to work, whenever i do it the D comes out and the C is never read, any tips on this? tired of my 6A coming out pink.#1 - you can't do 720+D~C if you are chaining into the D. You're not allowed to kara-cancel chained normals in BB (or GG, this was the fix to the FDCs from GGX). If someone says they're doing it, really what it is doing is making them delay the motion and the C enough that their desired input works. You also can't do it if you are JCing into the D - you can never get a standing move after a jump cancel (like 5A, up, D will always be j.D or nothing). #2 - if you want to avoid a purple 720 off 6A, the easiest way to do it is to buffer one 360. Do the 6A, then before it hits 360 from R D L U R, continue to hold R as it hits, then wait and complete the 2nd 360 from R D L U + C. (Obviously, if you do 720s the other way, then do it backward and hold L instead.)
Commanderoftroy Posted March 14, 2010 Posted March 14, 2010 That timing is even more odd when playing online. I can never get the 5a 720 to work but then again i dont see anyone ever use that.

Commanderoftroy Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Yeah i mean i have seen a few videos but never on a consistant basis, would think being able to do it would help greatly for those who arent mashing wake up supers and dps.
ShinsoBEAM Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Yeah i mean i have seen a few videos but never on a consistant basis, would think being able to do it would help greatly for those who arent mashing wake up supers and dps. Jab 720 isn't too bad after practice, normally I do HCB A,then finish the 720 C...it works fairly well.
Konner Posted March 17, 2010 Posted March 17, 2010 Anyone else here do 6A > 2C > 5D > Spark Bolt > 5C > 6A > 2C > AC? It's over 6k damage with a j.D CH, but 5.5k from the 6A. Oh, and a CH 6A messes it up for most character, you'll have to delay the 5D more because of the CH and against some characters.

Oh, and a CH 6A messes it up for most character, you'll have to delay the 5D more because of the CH and against some characters. Off a CH j.D yes I do, I really don't hit 6As much else. Alot of times though I just don't use my spark bolt go to 6A,2C,collider, shit to put you in a good position. But its character dependent of course. RCs are normally a much better use of meter, for example CH 6A>j.2C(RC)>j.2C>2B>2C>623>236B>41236D>2C>623C just posted in the other thread will do like 6.8k. Omit the last 236B with a standard follow up it still does like 6.3k or something, and you still have your spark volt to make them think twice about many things.
Skye Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 How do you guys go about alleviating pressure? With who? Tager?
mAc Chaos Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 Classic Skye. Surely you Tager players have learned how to deal with pressure and have some advice for a beginner?
A.X.I.S. Posted March 24, 2010 Posted March 24, 2010 block/IB/barrier or guess... really thats all i have to say because that's all i do.
