I never owned a PS2, I always played Guilty Gear with a friend on his. So when I got a PS3, I decided to pick up GGAC+ because GG is awesome. Unfortunately, I have the new version that isn't as backwards compatible as the older versions. So at the moment, I just loaned it out to a friend of min (who has the older version) which wouldn't be a bad thing if not for the fact that he lives about 4 hours from where I live. That said, should I hope that eventually they'll patch it so that it runs (if you are unfamiliar the game freezes at the ArkSys logo) on my PS3? I'm actually considering just buying a PS2 (there are a couple other games I'd like to play but don't play on my version as well)... but... yeah. Not like I don't have other games to play and things to spend money on. But I do miss my Guilty Gear.

aksys has mentioned that the onus is on sony for this one, but i guess that depends on how you look at it. the MO for something like that is to point fingers. even if it did work 100%, you'd still be working with unavoidable video lag which is produced by playing any PS2 game on the PS3. i've resigned myself to keeping my PS2 around just for my fighting games :[

Is there a online for the Wii version? Come to think of it, I know some ppl with Wii's so I might be able to get games in that way. Plus, I can pick up TvC. And buy all sorts of excercise games that can sit in the corner of my garage like my treadmill, weights, etc etc

No there is no online for the Wii version. It would have probably been terrible.

yep,the wii is crap when it comes to online.

still if it had online i would have played it anyway, maybe like five matches a day since the lag would have been most irritable.

jus how bad is the timing difference from the ps2 to the ps3 when playing GG? I need to train, but a friend told me that the ps3 timing is really off, which would of course hurt me if i was playing on a ps2... is that true?

I need to train, but a friend told me that the ps3 timing is really off, which would of course hurt me if i was playing on a ps2... is that true?

It's about 3 or 4 frames, which is enough to throw off timing for FRCs, reversals and other such things.

Your best bet is Ad-hoc party which you can get through a JP PSN account for PS3 and play Guilty Gear XX AC+ through that on your PSP...assuming you don't live too far from said friend.
