New to Guilty gear Xrd, got some questions

Hello,

like what the title says, I am a guilty gear newbie and I got some questions.

I have been playing some lobby matches online, I noticed that I having a hard time just setting up any of the combos that I practiced in training mode. What I mean is that I don't know how to get in without getting punished really hard. I am trying to learn sin btw.

Another question I got is how to beat potemkin, I swear everytime I go against this guy, I am so close to ripping my hair out, his command throws feel instant to me and I can't anywhere near him without getting buster'd to death or getting punished with his anti air throw.

Are you air dashing in a lot?  Because air dashing is a commitment that you have to be prepared for.  You can easily be hit with an anti air if you predictably air dash in constantly, and you won't be able to save yourself by blocking.

In general sin is weak at close range because of the long cool downs on his specials. His back dash and range are very strong though
