Reamatsu Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Waiting until the Summer is getting to me. Is there any thread or anyone that can inform me what's going on out in El Paso?
Scottie Yosh Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I wonder how many words one could make with the input letters... :p:
MetalMaelstrom Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Furi-poo, could you pretty-please make an account for me on the dustloop wiki? I PM'd Dusty around noon, but he didn't get on today

MetalMaelstrom Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Kurushii-kun, perhaps you could do it, since you're online right now... b-b-but it's not like I want you to do it just because it's you!... baka.

MetalMaelstrom Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I misread it as "convince your mod to make you an account" as opposed to "convince your mod to have me make you an account." My apologies.
PozerWolf Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 WHEN ARE WE GETTING DAT GUNDAM XTREME.... The day someone requests it.
furix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Furi-poo, could you pretty-please make an account for me on the dustloop wiki? I PM'd Dusty around noon, but he didn't get on today I have nothing to do with the Dustloop wiki. Try PMing shtkn. I don't even have an account on it myself. lol
Yuushiro Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 that reminded me , I have to do Jin section.... but I never edit wiki before ahhh.... sh......
furix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Honestly, the wiki looks like a mess >_>... Someone decided on a really ugly format and like, it looks all messy and confusing and stuff. lol At this rate, it isn't even gonna help its target audience get any better (Beginner players). Wikis are meant for beginner players, yet the information there is all over the place and they are trying to put too many things that new players will get lost and give up, probably. Intermediate to advanced players don't really need a wiki. D: IMO the pages should just copy the format Mizuumi uses.
shtkn Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 you know... you coudl actually bring this stuff up instead of just staying silent and offer to help but nope, i guess it's just easier to sit back and criticize. i'll take a look at mizuumi's format later.
furix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Oh, I didn't really take a look at the wiki until yesterday... and yeah I found it really confusing. The format should really be simple, like... the frame data shouldn't be spread around the way it is. The whole thing is a mess... It should just be a simple and easy to look at page. http://wiki.mizuumi.net/w/Arcana_Heart_3/Lilica_Felchenerow Like that, it's simple and to the point. The current DL wiki has sprites posted after each move and normal.. that is so unnecessary as it adds useless clutter. People can just look at the move when they play. The moves and normals should just have a simple description followed by good ways of using them. Frame data should be kept completely on another section or kept closely together. If I want to look at frames, I wouldn't want to scroll up and down over and over to find the moves I want and compare them.
CrimsonDisaster Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 i'm going to offer to sit back and criticize
PozerWolf Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) you know... you coudl actually bring this stuff up instead of just staying silent and offer to help but nope I like how when people offer to help or criticize it, they're shot down. Nah, I'd rather stay silent and talk shit about it here then have the mods talk shit to random members. So how about that wiki, guys? ^_^ EDIT: Okay, I actually saw the wiki. Whoa... yea, I don't know about this. Maybe I'll just make guides, and whenever players who would like to play Blaz and are new to the scene, I'll just link them those guides. shtkn Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 the wiki has been in discussion in the staff forums since early december. why would a staff member wait so long to offer up any criticism about it and not even the the thread about the wiki that's in the staff forums? to me that's pretty insulting. as a result i snapped back a bit. i apologize for letting my emotions get the better of me. also how did i shoot him down? believe it or dont but i actually linked to his suggestions in the wiki thread and ppl are discussing it now. if you ahve any suggestions, please share.
Kurushii Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Yea, Shtkn did quote it into the topic and it is in discussion. :3
Circuitous Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 (edited) Oh, I didn't really take a look at the wiki until yesterday... and yeah I found it really confusing. If I want to look at frames, I wouldn't want to scroll up and down over and over to find the moves I want and compare them. Look at it from the perspective of someone who doesn't play the character. I don't mean a newb, I mean someone who plays another character but doesn't know shit about the character they're reading on the wiki. "What's with Dead Spike, how's that work so well?" Then they look up Dead Spike on Ragna's page, and rather than getting a generalized description, they can see the sprite (confirming that it's the move they're thinking of) and know its stats right off the bat. Frame data could still be organized into its own page (as it is now without the wiki) for people who JUST want to see frame data. Your argument appears valid on its own, but only when you consider that that's just how other wikis have done it. Edit: This page, on the same wiki that you linked, offers the same information in nearly the same format as DL's is using. Does this layout bother you as well? If not, what about this makes it more appealing, and how can we integrate it into the existing layout? Let's try and find common ground instead of shutting down ideas that could work out. EDIT: Okay, I actually saw the wiki. Whoa... yea, I don't know about this. Maybe I'll just make guides, and whenever players who would like to play Blaz and are new to the scene, I'll just link them those guides. I'd love to read a guide written by you. You can barely make it through a single post without sounding like a moron. Meanwhile, people who give a shit can work on a wiki for everyone else to use. Edited January 10, 2012 by Circuitous
PozerWolf Posted January 10, 2012 Author Posted January 10, 2012 to me that's pretty insulting. You're right, it is! BTW, have you guys convinced the SA to delay the SA tournament a week from the original date? I TOO WOULD LIKE TO GO, BUT THERE'S A KILLEEN TOURNAMENT, YA' KNOW!!!!
furix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 circ: That page has hitboxes, there is a reason for the pictures... The hitboxes are being shown. Anyway, I've already said my input. I really don't have anything else to add. It was just my feelings for it. TBQH I am not a wiki person, I don't like writing in them much nor do I use them much. The few times I use them I do like them to be as clean and easy to follow as possible. Like the Arcana Heart wiki was, the IaMP wiki is good too. It's just... all those tables all over the place in the DL wiki right now seems really messy to me. But, if you guys like it that way you can keep it. That's all. EDIT: Pozer, you shoulda been at UFO Saturday night, we had a lot of fun arcana matches! :<
furix Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 I don't. Which is why I posted here instead of the wiki thread. lol
