You're right because any criticism towards "One More Bust",what it was formerly and more appropriately named, must be trolling. You see that little green thing under his avatar? Have you ever clicked on it? Oh well at least Ryan Harvey is making money off you with his venue fee, I wonder why no other tournaments at ufo ever had one that expensive...

The venue fee is something that he asked for, to compensate for loss of potential business. If you want to verify it ask him.

I believe that the $2 entry is for ranbats. Ranbats and tournaments aren't the same. From my experiene the barrier of entry for ranbats is expected to be lower because it takes place over a season. Where as a tournament is a one shot deal.

Also I host games at my place all the time. Fridays and Saturdays are the hot nights. GG, MB,BB, AH3, are the games, and soon p4u. Recently its mostly been scottie and kenji. Sometimes jeff.

The game is going to be young and the players need to be established in the game. P4U, BB, and (formerly) AH3, from an outsider's perspective, will look more like an anime circle-jerk than a fighting game tournament.

Don't get me wrong, I fucking love anime games. I am UFO's premiere Gals Panic S2 player and Cooking Mama extraordinaire. But I do acknowledge how the public views them.

but flameice what about this?

http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/apr-28-2012-arcade-ufos-next-tournament-event-midwest-texas-hipster-tea-time-austin-tx.157329/

--- Entry Fee / Prize

- $2 Entry.

- $5 Per game

this looks like a recent event.

tournaments previous to this had the same price.

hate to take sides but i dont think you know whats going on.

:(

Actually yeah your right I had completely forgotten about pozers $2 entry fee tournaments. The tournaments I attended I remember them either being free or having a higher barrier. I also though his price per game was like $10? Any way but yeah if the community feels strongly about a $2 venue I'll do it. I don't think lowering the barrier of entry should be a big deal, or I can add something to the tournament it self. Like I can get a shit load of baked goods ready like cookies, cupcakes, tea, etc. Let me know what you guys think. Please for the love of god be serious. Don't make me think you aren't.

@ Edit

Almost forgot. There was a Tao at the Arcade today. He like stormed off after I beat him(he wasn't bad mind you), but I really want to play him some more. I need the Tao experience. Does anyone know who he might be or when he comes to arcade?

a wall of ponies?! :O

flameice i was wondering who you are talking about when you mention the community.

ive spoken with the people at ufo and no one seems to know who you are.

unless you go by another name?

or is there a community in austin outside of the arcade?

people think that poser and ryan are hosting the one more burst tournament.

i know poser was really good in the old blazblue and ryan was good in street fighter 3.

very sorry im asking so many questions i know it can be annoying.

i just want to understand the scene here thats all.

There's a contradiction in this post, can anyone spot it? Also how are you going to lower it, is Ryan going to do it just because you ask? Just like with Arcana not being on the machine you're trying to promise a lot of things you can't guarantee.

what no pozer noooooooo

it's the 777 page of Austin thread..., we must make a partyyyy

Hell, no! The direction this topic is going is terrible, and I want nothing to do with it. Welp, my fault for trying to interact with those in the scene.

Fuck this, I'm out!!!

You kidding? Of course I'll never leave you guys! But I still hate you all.

Meow.

I told Ryan about Arcana via email. He responded and said that it was ok.

As far as venue is concerned i would talk

To ryan about it. If it he disagreed i would pay the $3 per person.

Thats surprising seeing how i go to the arcade a lot. Who did you talk to? Also I don't think I've ever seen you before when do you go to the arcade.

Also by community I mean the people within the community in Texas as a whole.
