Lets play some melty then! Lets setup a session and bawl.

No promises I'll be competitive like my old days when you had to mod a ps2. I didn't have a chance to get into Current Codes if you're speaking of that version, pc was god awful...how do people settle for pc versions? On another note, it's guaranteed I'll be down in town on the 28 of October for two weeks. Make the best of it before I leave.

ps- I thought this thread was going to die and was going to leave it at that. Maybe BBCP and P4UC will revive this mess hall at least.

....PC versions of games are fine, MBAACC on PC is the latest version of the game and it runs great.

when BBCP hits, we'll be too busy playing the game to post in this thread. P4UC on console won't be until next year around this time or possibly later.

Know how you feel. Austin's around hour and a half to 2 hours away from me. SA is like...4.

I might go this friday, but I'll definitely swing by next friday so I can get blown up because I'm awful at this game now.

The military is screwing me a little bit but I should be able to make next Friday as well, only like a 20 minute trip for me if some family let me borrow their car while on vacation. All is looking good with that digital download for me tomorrow. omg! It looks like people are actually planning for once here.

Proof the Austin scene is garbage:

https://twitter.com/SuperFlameIce/status/391426112456118272

I love how flameice still can't beat me all this time after all this time he's spent on the game, where as I've yet to sit down and play it. I guess if he wins 1 game out of 100, he's happy. Sorry for falling asleep during our matches.

EDIT: Holy shit, this twitter is comedy gold!

But whatever, I'm still not getting a twitter, lol.

But... How will you talk to ikki?? We already know our scene is not the strongest.

The scene is fine. Just that when a game is dead, there's no such thing as a "strong scene" for X game.

The issue with you guys is attitude. We have very strong players still in the Austin area. A reality check is in need, however weather you guys accept reality is the question.

Its true. Also a problem when people are deadset on playing only one game. The more games you play, the more overall well rounded you tend to be.

Quit trying to get people to play Chaos Code with you.

It seems like the real issue is that the game (whatever game it is) is dead, as you pointed out a sentence before you said this.

That's 100% not true, since in the past my previous opponent has been hsien and no one else, yet that was all we needed to gain a status.

Most players here think they're are better than they are, which is very apparent in flameice's case hence why he has yet to improve since day 1. Other players have also gotten cocky or have obtain bad habits and refuse to listen to advise from those with plenty of experiences. Naturally, these issues will continue until that "reality check" has been dealt with.

Watching videos +8 hours a day does nothing to your game since you're merely trying to adept tech that does not effect your style nor the opponents. Try to play at your own pace and figure out the best way to optimize that situation. It's funny how people say I have a good read among my opponents when I play, when in reality, it's obvious to see someone's style change completely. 1 style, being their own, and the other style over takes their youtube abilities into play. Which, in this case, it becomes very distinct as to what the player is attempting. Everyone in Texas has this problem, unfortunately (I guess you can say in America as well). It's an easy fix, it's up to you'll to fix it tho.

That practically goes for all games as well. Like if I would've watched videos on how to beat shit in dark souls I probably would've never been able to do speedruns. When you force yourself to not watch videos or at least not many, and experiment, you should theoretically get better naturally and start actually mastering something.

I think not watching any videos is doing yourself a disservice. You can learn a lot from watching players "Oh man, that's a neat setup maybe I should see if I can work it in to my play style". The problem comes from when you just try to replicate the person your watching's playstyle instead of learning different things you can do and then implement them into your own.

Problem with that is, no one knows how to figure that out and try too hard to implement that trick into their game, giving way when the players attempts to do it. It's hard to say what goes for a player's style, sometimes not watching videos ever is usually the best. Sure, at times they give you a "grasp" on things, but to use match videos as a tool to help educate yourself on that character aside from the basics will only make you worse.

It's really a problem if someone tries to implement one set-up and not several. I had/have this problem, admittedly. I saw inoue HOS do sweep and then double gunblaze and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, then I just did that on knockdown every time and didn't know what to do if my opponent blocked the gunblaze. But then again, that's just me, I like to do the same thing over and over again because I either don't know any better or don't think quick enough to do anything else.

As far as the 'scene' goes I'm pretty excited for CP release, honestly. A few newcomers have expressed interest and Markus is allegedly making a return, so there'll be more competition to go around at the very least. I'm interested in this 'reality check' of yours, though. Does it only go as far as player ego/confidence? And for that matter who are the people that you think have these egos? You mentioned FlameIce already, I imagine you're going to mention Marcell, I don't think Scottie has much of an ego but it'd at least be semi-justified considering recent tournament placement, you're retarded if you mention me because I've been nothing but self-deprecating for the past 2 years, et al.
