Location: Buffalo NY, READ MOAR:psyduck:

By now most of you now know Buffalo is for real when it comes to fighting game communities, and that we have numerous underrated players and efficiently run tournaments. We aim to up the ante yet again.

Bringing in a POT BONUS for SF4 and SC4!! (details below)

With all the hype out there for crap ass tournaments run by people who don't have a clue on how to run shit, and let the inmates run the prison at their events, you can EXPECT better in Buffalo.

There will be:

- Huge pot bonuses, worth traveling for (will hopefully get larger by time of event)

- An extremely well organized and run tournament for each game.

- Brackets that WILL start on time and END on time

- No hassle or deception, 100% of the money goes to the players

- A large crowd, this tourney grows every time we hold it

- Space for everyone, no more cramping in small ass venues

I hope the BONUS + pot money will garner a little more travel interest from NYC, NJ, PA, OH, MA and MI. I want to see everyone possible make it, this will be an event to remember, please spread word and help this thing grow.

So on to the details you actually CARE about:

Date:

Saturday, November 14, 2009

Location: University of Buffalo- Student Union Assembly Room (North Campus)

http://www.buffalo.edu/community/visitor_directions_north.html

For those coming off the 290, get off at the Millersport exit and take Millersport North to Flint Rd (should be first intersection, if Flint isnt the first intersection with a light then you are going the wrong way on Millersport)

- Make a Left on Flint Rd

- Proceed on Flint into UB campus

- Make a right on Ausburger Rd (if the street isn't labled it's not Ausburger)

- Proceed to the parking lots immediately to your left, but park towards their middle section (Jacobs Lot)

- WALKING directions from here:

- Head up the first walkway leading away from those parking lots (towards Jacobs Hall, passing it on your left)

- Cross Putnam Rd and continue in between Baldy Hall and Lockwood Library through a walkway.

- The Student Union is directly in front of you now, head to the first floor, make a left down the first hallway near the stairs and you will be at the assembly room (rm 145)

Time: Doors open at 12pm for casuals, tourneys start at 2pm.

(may be slight delay to any early birds as we have to wait for building maintenance to give the "ok" on the room when it is being set up, stupid University politics at work here)

Venue Fee: FREE

If players would prefer DC or PS3 version, please let me know.

(Will be run last due to lowest interest generated, should have 360 casuals all day)

So again, we had a huge turn out at RitT 2 despite no hype, over 70 players showed up. We plan on even MORE being here this time for that extra pot money.

If you have any questions on crash space, directions, tourney ideas, side tourney ideas or anything, PLEASE ASK and keep this thread HYPED.

The tourney will be run well and done in a timely fashion, all you have to do is- SHOW UP and STOP TALKIN MESS FROM BEHIND THAT KEYBOARD.

see you soon!

Pittsburgh crew still plays GG, I believe. I think a few Buffalo players would throw down as well. I know some of Toronto's big BB players will be there, maybe they will enter GG as well. I think you could probably get 16 players.

GG players arent gonna even think of coming to this if you dont even put GG in the game list. WTF is wrong with this community? isnt this DUSTLOOP.com? Plz play GG ppl.

far as I can tell, this is a forum for both BlazBlue and GG, Blazblue is happening, GG has ran it's course in my area, sorry. Yet I'll run a GG tourney on the side if wee can get 16 ppl for it, but definitely not going to if we don't BB will be on ps3 Doesn't mean it won't be a dope ass tourney without GG, stop being all butt hurt over bb, gg players! :psyduck:

The way I figure it a lot of BB players are former GG players, so I'm sure getting 16 people won't be too hard. But if you're coming JUST for GG, you may be disappointed. If you're willing to play both, you'll have a good time either way. It's not like Chach hasn't played in and run big GG events, think about it. How about getting a list of people who want a GG event and will show up? Gauge the interest, and then decide based on that.

I'm interested in BB. How big of a crowd are you expecting for BB?

I'd say around 30 players or so. Buffalo only has me at this point, a couple others might enter but all they do is play dumbass SF4 all day. However Toronto will be bringing talented players, Pittsburgh crew is coming for sure and has always been good in GG, and will no doubt be a stiff challenge in BB as well. Upstate NY as a whole is pretty hype for BB, coming out from Rochester/Syracuse area.

Hell Buffalo is probably the only main region in the state that didn't get on the BB train, despite my best efforts. It's pretty much JUST me at this point and I'll probably be the worst player there, but players from other regions are already confirmed to show, including some NYC players that are coming for Calibur and SF4 as well. The competition level will be strong, Toronto and Pittsburgh players are a force.

So reaching 30 players shouldn't be an issue, probably more if all these people saying they'd be interested in GG show up. Pittsburgh will also be down for that, I think 4-5 people in Chach's old crew? Chach always runs a solid event, no bullshit, money goes to the players and tournaments are run fast and efficient. We've got a wide open venue on UB campus now, walking distance from hotels, awesome food spots locally (it's Buffalo, c'mon now), everything you need to run a great event we've got it. All we need is players to show up and make it hype.

Buffalo will have 3 players for BB at least Kowtow ;p actually for. Me, you, des and jon so far.

Doesn't look like much GG interest yet. But we'll keep lookin!

Oh you're actually gonna play? We need to get Jug back on board with this shit too, he can't really spend ALL of his time playing SF4, can he?

Oh wait, he can. :psyduck:

Oh we have Juan too! SPARK VOLTO!

Not sure who you are? But I'll be playing mostly Calibur anyway, you should try to play Pittsburgh or Toronto, or people that are actually good at the game. You keep calling out Buffalo players, but I really don't think they (or myself for that matter) care as much about BB right now as we do about other games (Calibur, SF4). We're just trying to run a good event for the players, we know people want to play BB, and we got that. If you want to run team challenges or whatever, I'm sure Pittsburgh would be happy to get some games in. But beating players who don't even practice or play locally anymore really isn't that impressive.
