Untechable time is always the same, whether you start grounded or in the air.

First of all, Kabari -> Tetsuzansen is techable unless done very close on an aerial opponent. It's not really practical to do Kabari at that close of a range, but I guess it can happen if they try to jump out of a string ending with it. ;o

The reason it's techable is simple - the opponent is airborne longer if you launch them while they're already in the air. This extra airtime exceeds the untechable time of the move, and the Tetsuzansen becomes techable once its untechable time runs out on your opponent, who is still in the air.

Do forced prorating penalties stack, or do they go according the last forced prorating move? To illustrate, take / Dizzy. She does her ground throw which is 50% forced prorating and then does her spike which is 85%. Would the hits after the spike now only prorate 85% or do the hits now take an additional 85% after the 50%?

Moves that force prorate will only drop to the lowest proration in the combo. In other words, in the scenario you listed, moves after the throw will only do 50% of their normal damage. Ice spike will not force another 85%.

discussed this b4. But yea only first hit prorates. However if you throw in a combo (stagger combo) and the throw prorates, it'll prorate by the throw now.. hope that's clear. i.e johnny counter hit j.hs, 6k air combo = awesome. but johnny counter hit j.hs, dash throw is stupid.

Actually, I think that is exactly how her ice spike works in Slash which is why she struggles to deal damage off combos now. The new 90% forced prorate on j.P is pretty bad, too, since that basically kills her best combo from #R: xx > ice spike FRC > IAD > j.P > j.H > land > j.K > j.S (JC) > j.S > j.H or j.D

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't realize we were specifically talking about combos off throws.

I found out that if I do an air tatami really close to the ground, there's no FRC point for it. :o

Why?

P.S: Or should I have posted this in the Baiken thread? Someone make a "Baiken Q&A Thread", so I can post my questions there instead of here lol :O

Or is it alright to post here?

dude, Soul Calibur 3... way better than this... i don't even really like this game anymore... to much work involved... play SC3, it's better.

Oh so it's too tough for you to handle? No problem. Do I have to show you the way out? :)

Haha.

I'm gonna have to disagree with everyone here and say save your money and get Soul Calibur 3. I mean, c'mon, 2d fighters? What is this, 1993?

Don’t be silly... in my opinion soul calibur is too slow and unoriginally basic towards my interest, don’t get me wrong its ok but compared to guilty gear I hardly ever bothered playing it again, besides guilty gear is not only a game filled with brilliant action, but a game with an incredibly beautifully planed out background and source of inventive characters, truly unique packed with reasons and hidden meanings for revolution towards rock and soul, soul calibur is a cool fantasy based genre but with all that said its quite pointless…

I agree with HmR.ks if you find guilty gear to hard to play and you prefer a more simple game just say that instead…

PS: GUILTY GEAR IS THE KING OF ALL GAMES

Don't post stupid shit.

Baiken wouldn't have an FRC point on the Tatami low to the ground because she's probably land before the FRC point came. Landing cuts off the part of the move where the FRC is, hence no point in canceling it anyway.

Huh? j.P has prorating, but not forced. So I'm thinking it's to weaken her IAD pressure strings along with maybe her fuzzy guard setup and overhead bubbles and whatever else you'd use j.P to start something.

Okay, I watched the wargasm vids on RC. At the end of A.B.A.'s segment, there's a combo clip on I-no where she uses a bloodpack but the graphic doesn't disappear, as if she still has three bloodpacks. But there's a timer at the top, so it's not a form of training--can someone explain to me wtf?

I know now to post all my questions on these stickied threads instead of making my own threads. Well I was wondering, is Guilty Gear X2 Slash going to be released in the U.S.? If not can you give me the link to the site that sells it? Also whats the best stick, I went to a tournament, and almost everyone I played had a stick, while I used a pad :(. I'm not sure why people use a stick, but I'm going to get one, can someone give me the link to the best stick? (Preferably the same site im ordering Guilty Gear X2 Slash. Also I'm a bit noob Sol and I was wondering if you guys could give me any tips on him :/.

Well most of these aren't gameplay questions but whatever...

The chances of Slash being released State-side are slim. So don't count on it. You can buy it at play-asia.com, yesasia.com, liksang.com, ncsx.com, etc...

There's no one "best stick" for everyone; using a stick is like using anything else, people have opinions and like certain things that others might not. It's a good idea to go to a local gathering and ask people if they would let you try out their sticks for a couple minutes. That way you'll get a feel for what you like in a stick (Sanwa or Happ? Or Seimitsu? If Sanwa: square or octagonal gate? If Happ: Comp, P360, or Super? Hard or soft spring? Happ buttons or Sanwa buttons? etc).

While a lot of people prefer Happ sticks, I think the majority of players prefer Sanwa. A solid stick that comes with a Sanwa already installed is the Hori Real Arcade Pro. If you google for it you'll find half a dozen sites that are selling.

You can find Sol tips in his character-specific forum.

can someone explain what are attack levels? i never really understood that part.

Posted

how much they modify guard meter and how long they put you in hitstun and random crap like that (they might modify stun too).

Posted

Aren't attack levels like which part of the body they hit? Like, low, middle and high?

If its attack level is high, that means it must be blocked by standing, etc.?
