Mindgam3 Posted November 13, 2009 Posted November 13, 2009 I'll run XII. It's new, I own it, and it looks pretty. But I have a few questions regarding registration since this is a side-tournament. 1. Am I going to be solely responsible for handling entry fees, or will everyone register at the same time as the other games and I'll get a list of contestants from DM in order to make the bracket? 2.May I set pot distribution? I'm honestly not expecting many people to enter, so I want to give those who do some monetary incentive. I was thinking something along the lines of: 0-8 players: Winner take all (that's 24 bills yo.) 9-16 players: 80-20 (Winner gets 21.60 for 9 players, for 10+ he will receive 24+). 17-up: 70-20-10 (Must have 19+ players for the winner to receive more than the 80/20 split). These are my suggestions for the entry fee/schedule/rule set. If something seems misguided, feel free to comment. ------ Entry Fee: $3 dollars. Start Time: 6:30 pm The King of Fighters XII: -Double Elimination tournament. -Player sets will be best 2 out of 3 Matches. -Winners/Losers Finals will be best 3 out of 5 Matches. -Each match will be best 2 out of 3 Rounds. Each individual round will be 60 seconds. -Winner of 1st match must keep their team, but may change rotation of characters. -Loser may change their team or rotation if desired. If you need any more information, feel free to ask.

You can set the entry fee but they will keep the money at the front desk and registration will be the same as the other's which means fill out the sign-up sheet at the front desk. 2. You can set the pot distribution but you need to let DM know what it's going to be so they can split it. Question about the rules- Are glitches and infinites banned in the tourney? If they are please specify which ones so I can list them. I will put this info up and update it as needed. Here is the SRK thread so you can see what it looks like. http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=211528

Mindgam3 Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 1. You can set the pot distribution but you need to let DM know what it's going to be so they can split it. Question about the rules- Are glitches and infinites banned in the tourney? If they are please specify which ones so I can list them. I will put this info up and update it as needed. The most obvious glitch that I thought of at the time was the Raiden/Elizabeth handcuff glitch. However, that was patched in the update so we no longer need to worry about that. Concerning the infinites, at first thought that they were not technically glitches and thus could be used in tournament play. But after taking another look at them, it does seem that these infinites are specifically console-only glitchy goodness. So I think it's in everyone's best interest to not allow them this time around. I am open to discussion on this matter. The tournament will be run on PS3. Revised tournament rule set: ----- The King of Fighters XII: -Double Elimination tournament. -Infinites/Glitches (ex: Joe Higashi, Raiden/Elizabeth) are not allowed. The player who successfully performs an infinite/glitch will receive both mad props and a forfeiture of their current match.
Vigilante Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 SRk updated mindgame and just so everybody knows there won't be any refunds this time around and it will be posted on the first page of all sites thx.
agp24 Posted November 15, 2009 Posted November 15, 2009 So yeah... Anybody driving up that I could carpool with? I really don't want to miss this, due to it being the last DM.
Vigilante Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Hey everybody I would like to ask if you could check out this venue because I am thinking about making it the new venue for our tourneys. Check it out if you can before the DM tourney here is the address. The BattleGround Game Arena 378 Kelly Road, Unit #3 Vernon, CT USA 06066 It's alot closer to MA if wanted to know so give your opinion please.
Vyers Posted November 17, 2009 Posted November 17, 2009 Magically have Saturday off despite not getting one off for a month and a half. Will be coming for GGAC/TF. I'd like to check out KOF as well
Light_Nazgul Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 About the Battleground Game Arena, we held one of the ACTs there. The venue was ok, but food was not as convenient and the layout was more linear. It was more difficult to get around in as a whole, but that could be because of the MTG tournament that day.

Otakuchin Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Yeah the Battleground area is a nice place to hold tourneys. but trying to find a good amount of Tv's to use is hard at points and the area is small. Good thing about them though their open 24 hrs on Sat. so if you really wanted to you could host an all night event or some shit . I had plans for the place but the crowd got too used to the DM venue, so i just changed it back.
Gonzales Posted November 18, 2009 Author Posted November 18, 2009 so are you saying we would have to tell people to bring T.V's?
Vigilante Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 I asked them and they said it was ok for us to bring whatever we needed for the tourney. The only issue is he wants to do them on Sunday not Saturday but we could talk to him about that. If you haven't checked out the place give it a look because it looks like it has great potential.
blueNINE Posted November 18, 2009 Posted November 18, 2009 Still going, still planning to bring a PS3 with SFIV and a PS2 with GG. I noticed that I'm not on the list of people bringing GG setups. Battlegrounds should be fine for the tournament. As previously mentioned, ACT was there once, and though I preferred DM, the venue was pretty good, and definitely got the job done. While it is not right next to a Burger King, there is food nearby (including a Papa Gino's across the street). As for the issue of space...it was mostly fine, apart from the table used for the MtG (or whatever card game) tournament, but I realized that if they were to turn that table by 90°, there would be plenty of room. To me, with no DM, BG is the ideal location to move to at this point. Oh...and get hype for Saturday!
agp24 Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Blue, I hate to ask this a second time, but do you possibly have room for one more for ACT? If not, not a big deal.
Vyers Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 So I magically caught the flu and as such won't be able to make it to the last DM tourney. In other news there's a very good chance that Asian Dave will be making an appearance
MarlinPie Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 quotes and I are coming to this as well. if its the last of dm theres no reason for us to not go up there and hug dm for a goodbye.
MarlinPie Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 im just gonna assume the first page isnt updated for shit and there are more than 5 people coming. i hope?
Light_Nazgul Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 So I magically caught the flu and as such won't be able to make it to the last DM tourney. That is lame. Vigilante Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 im just gonna assume the first page isnt updated for shit and there are more than 5 people coming. i hope? That's for set-ups not for people who are attending.
Zoob Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 If Nazgul is coming, so will I. I can't bloody pick a starter for T6 for shit, though. I may go Mexican.
Fraga Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Bad news guys, for the 2nd straight tournament I cannot make it. Sister being a bitch so I have to watch my nephew (what isn't new?). Sorry but I will make sure Act is clear for me to enter, and I'll bring MBAA then.
