Arcade Legacy Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Arcade Legends in Fairfield, OH is proud to announce SEASON 2 of the Ranking Battles. Come prove yourself amongst players in the local scene and spend some quality time with our 50+ arcade and pinball machines all set on free play. Season 2 will be slightly different than season 1. First, the season will last 4 months. Second, there will only be 2 weeks of ranbats per month. Third, the prize values have been raised to reflect the extra week. Since there isn't really anything obvious to go along with Tekken 6, it will be played on the same day as BB and GGAC but in the evening. I know a few T6 players are into BB so they can come early and enter that if they wish. The evenings with T6 will be open for whomever wants to run a side tourney alongside T6. If any of you in the Dustloop crowd want a money tournament after the ranbats, I'm all for it. PM me or post it up and we'll hammer out the details. Brent-quest Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 forgot to post JackG is banned for using gold Hakumen
Commanderoftroy Posted December 4, 2009 Posted December 4, 2009 I believe I could make it on the 12th for BB
doragonkoroshi Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Hey, kids. Just thought I'd bump this since there's a ranbat coming up in a few weeks.
GZ-Matthias Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 Going as well. More people need to show up for GG/BB though this time! Or don't show up and let me win cash prizes.
Circuitous Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I've got two guys willing to come along (2 BB, maybe 1 GG, I'll probably do both), may try and round up more but I don't really know any other players in the immediate vicinity. Er, you guys have controllers, right?
GZ-Matthias Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 I usually bring a ps3 pad and ps3 stick with me. If I'm not currently in a match I'll always let people borrow my TE if they need a stick for their match. Same with the pad. People are generally generous with Arcade Stick lending. It's not like it's a major or anything and no one out here really goes around smashing buttons to oblivion. edit: Also come to think of it, the arcade does also have 2 arcade sticks available.
Circuitous Posted January 3, 2010 Posted January 3, 2010 ...I'm not really a delicate person on sticks. Lack of experience I think. I could pad it up, though. (Would one of those really old PS1 sticks work on a PS3? )
Commanderoftroy Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Do we actually play on cabinets here or is it a console tournament?
doragonkoroshi Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 It will be console for now. They do have a Slash board, but we're playing AC, so...
Commanderoftroy Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 ahh i need to put in a lot of hard work in with a stick as of right now i can only play with the 360 controller, if this is on xbox i will definatly try to show up for the next time if you guys are looking for more players. I will have to grab a converter or something before then if its on the ps3.

Commanderoftroy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I hate the analogs on the ps3 controllers there is so much slop in them compared the 360, playing on a ps3 controller im at like 25 percent ha. I may grab a converter but i would need to test it for input lag. I can grab my 360 and bring it down with my stick if people want to use the TE stick i have. Im also looking to maybe get some tournaments going in michigan or toledo as well, im not sure how many go to this that live close enough that would be interested in going to those.
GZ-Matthias Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Someone did that for the SF4 ranbats. I don't think anyone would mind if you requested them using your TE on your 360 for your matches. No one really would want to play someone who is playing handicapped by their controller.
Commanderoftroy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I can do that if it would work I'm not sure how you guys run it or if it would slow things down at all. I will still look for a converter as well.
GZ-Matthias Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 The way things have worked recently, is that there are 6/7 monitors to set up on. we tend to only use half of the setups for the ranbat that is currently running while the rest are people playing casuals in other games.
Commanderoftroy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I can do that if people would want to play on the 360 with the stick either way I should be able to make it down. Its a good 3 hour drive from toledo
Heroic_Legacy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Mmmm Troy getting ready to show up some guys on his turf.
Commanderoftroy Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Ha I donno about show up but it will be a world of difference to play on a 360
doragonkoroshi Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Ha I donno about show up but it will be a world of difference to play on a 360 Yeah, since it's just a ranbat, I'm sure people won't mind as long as there's a stick available and stuff. People who play on dualshock 3 won't have a solution though. hopefully you won't run into that. I'm sure there might be a way to make it work. I'd definitely ask Jesse on SRK before going just to be sure though. You really should learn stick though, or be using a dpad if you're on a controller.
