A game historian friend of mine was asking about older GG Games and wanted to know if EX Mode characters actually had Frame Data.

I doubt it, but I wondered if there's an actual way to obtain Frame Data outside material books?

I've thought about this before, and I was wondering how effective just observing footage frame by frame could be. I think active and recovery frames would be the most difficult, but I think you could figure out startupĀ and even advantage. With input display on in training mode, you should be able to discern exactly when the attack starts, and count how many frames until the attack hits. You could use the old trick of having both characters hold up during the attack, and see on which frame the jump startup animation begins. I can't think of a way to determine active and recovery frames.
