sanquerosa Posted Sunday at 05:28 PM Posted Sunday at 05:28 PM I dropped the game pre-2.0 because every gameplan was just to force inescapable offensive situations all the time at any cost and snowball with positive bonus, super wallbreak, and wild assault. Yes, I know I play HC. Laugh it up. Anyway, most of my specific complaints with the game have been fixed and it feels like a more neutral-focused game now with generally fewer blockstrings that go on forever and less reward on hit. I've actually been having a lot of fun with it. TarkusLee 1
ChungusBoy42 Posted Sunday at 07:21 PM Posted Sunday at 07:21 PM This game too fun now (until someone picks one of the champs that's still playing 4.0 )
Aransu Posted Sunday at 08:02 PM Posted Sunday at 08:02 PM I've been waiting 8 months for them to revert Johnny's 5H and now that they have the game is actually so fun again, Johnny's changes in general are all super nice so I'm having a good time.
TarkusLee Posted Sunday at 10:51 PM Author Posted Sunday at 10:51 PM I thought about switching to Venom with 2.0, but it seems my brain just fundamentally doesn't mesh with Strive gatlings, so I'm gonna stick to Nago
whatgoat Posted Sunday at 11:43 PM Posted Sunday at 11:43 PM strive 2.0 would have been a lot better if they removed goldlewis from the game but unfortunately they buffed his neutral
RedIAmNot Posted Sunday at 11:50 PM Posted Sunday at 11:50 PM Absolutely phenomenal update, but I do hope they revert a few changes. I honestly don't know why they removed throw invuln from command grabs in an update that already made strike/throw much more committal. I also think they should tweak how positive bonus interacts with tension penalty; I definitely agree with trying to reduce snowball potential, especially considering how the game was in Season 3/4. I'm just worried about how the meta is going to shape up as the patch develops, now that super wallbreaking isn't very preferable. nyxia 1
Secretpile34 Posted yesterday at 05:03 AM Posted yesterday at 05:03 AM 2.0 has me very excited about strive and future updates, my main is nearly the most fun he's ever been to play, and it seems as though the playing field balance wise is as balanced as it's ever been. As much as I am satisfied with the update, there are a few aspects that leave me a bit worried high key. As much as I think tiers matter the least, they ever have this patch (I sure am hopping this is true and we don't find out HC and 2 others are actually gods among the rest of the cast), I do think in some ways the game has become more polarizing. To me It feels like there are a few characters which aren't really playing in 2.0 but more in a weaker season 4 state if that makes any sense. These characters are largely comprised of the ones that mainly got buffs and a few outliers. It's hard to describe the exact difference for me as it's more of a feeling, but it feels like characters like Johnny, Pot, and Millia, just as examples, are operating outside of the general framework that 2.0 set. To me I feel as though I can feel a difference in their gameplay as compared to other prospective high/top tiers of this patch like Nago or Leo. This is really only a vague feeling I have, not really discernable through any actual criteria, but it does have me a lil bit on edge about the current patch. Considering the quality of 2.0 I do actually trust Arcsys to clean up the patch with a midseason patch as they always have. I'm just not 100% confident in how this patch is gonna turn out in the moment.
