ryokoalways Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Jin's fireball semi-spam is kind of like Ky. Can probably be used occasionally fairly safely. jC (counter) > 2D seems like as staple. Floating jC is a good keep away tool too. C fireball on wakeup is great now. It beats all tech timings due to its slow startup. And the projectile remains on block still, which makes it a good defensive tool in certain situations.
Sarsapari Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Millia H disc fireball :o Wonder if people will get creative with it
PhoenixBR Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 6B is looking pretty promising as well. It would be interesting if we started a combo list based on the videos, there are quite a few with sekkajin.
Jourdal Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 I'm really loving the JC and how it links to 2D...all around he looks like a much more satisfying character to play as
BANGER Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Does C fireball still shoot two projectiles? I don't think I saw any vids of any Jins using it yet. And 5C looks purty good. Overall, he looks more badass in his combos than ever, and I can imagine doing them would be more gratifying.

No. He shoots out an insanely slow projectile that gains speed (similar to 236A speed) after a while.

Agreed...looks more varied to me as well...I mean there's only like one good Jin video (of Kaqn as Jin) but it wasn't like before where everyhing goes into Jc>jc Ice car. Is the Jb that bad though? i haven't seen anyone use it..I'm also waiting to see what is done with Yukikaze..Hakumens could counter Barrier Bursts right? And i hear his Astral is the same command as Noels now?
PhoenixBR Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 jB is a lot worse, but I'm guessing it's still useful for some situations, and yes, Hakumen's Yukikaze could counter bursts, though it was rarely used. Not sure about the new Astral input, all I know is that it isn't a 720 anymore. There's a pretty good Jin vs Carl out there, and some interesting Jin vs Arakune and Ragna. If you haven't seen it yet and want me to give you a link, just tell me and I will search for it, though you might just try to search for it over youtube. I'm pretty hyped for new jC, it's really good so far.
BANGER Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I think new jB is kinda like Ragna's jC now. Slow startup, good for meaty IAD (it's still meaty right? Only change was less horizontal hitbox?), but with better hitbox (it's more like a forward-down sweep). jC seems to hit forward only, and j.2C hits up and down, so I think jB is a compromise of startup time for hitbox. Less hitstun than Ragna jC though. Can it cancel to j.2C on IAD?
PhoenixBR Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I think so, but I've seen people do the same jB > jC CT BnB with the new jC (air dash jC > j2C > 5B... you get the idea).

And i think Ryoko mentioned it was like Noels unless i read the input wrong. 2(hold)8D i think, same as hakumen's
PhoenixBR Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 There you go: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLlPdoVd2M0 Now that you mention Astral, is it still possible to combo it from 6D and throws? Edit: The air dash staple is j2C > jC, not jC > j2C as I said in my last post.
Jourdal Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Thanks, and i was wondering the same..if it's still possible to buffer the Astral during a throw since freezing doesn't last long. Is Jin doing a dp from wake up at 3:03 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml0MsOXlQyg I thought you couldn't do that in CS.
Killey Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Jin still looks really solid from those two videos. Looks like he has less rush down potential but didn't see those players use 6D offensively in guard strings but it there wasn't many opportunities to do it. The only time 6D was used was during an old corner combo. Fireball tech traps are still in but ground fireballs in general look really useless though they weren't used much in CT so no big deal here. Double crossover tricks with IAD D Fireball still exists though it looks a bit slower than usual. Maybe it was just me but Sekkajin looked faster but it could have been the video. As suspected Jin's new zoning game relies heavily on j.C and pretty much fishing for a CH much like you would with Litchi's j.B[M] in CT. Landing a CH j.C gives Jin a combo at any distance. Up close it links to j.D, from max distance if you are closer to the ground you can 2D (just like the loke tests), a little bit closer than max distance and you can land then j.B air combo (again being closer to the ground). Based on how it was combo'd in the two videos if you manage to CH with a low j.C in the corner you should be able to land then 5C, 6C, 6D into whatever. You can most likely still follow up with 6C, 236D but I recall ryoko saying you can't combo 623A in between the hits of 236D due to additional recovery 236D has.
koun Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I've seen the Jin VS Arakune, and Ragna but can you link me to the Jin vs Carl? And i think Ryoko mentioned it was like Noels unless i read the input wrong. here you go and here is all the jin vids i found so far. Jin vs Carl http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KLlPdoVd2M0 Arakune vs Jin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-ivqbqFKeo Shadow (Bang) vs Kaqn (Jin) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHUMOqzek2Q Jin vs Rachel Jin vs Tsubaki http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpy5on4TRlQ Jin VS Tager http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml0MsOXlQyg Jin vs Tsubaki(second one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oWaTno8XSbA Jin vs Tager(second one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Nqk724TtHM Arakune vs Jin Ragna vs Jin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yxq2UMqUOao Arakune vs Jin Ragna vs Jin(second one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e0Di6zNPAc Jin vs Tager; Jin vs Tager(second one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oZ6EWXdRtk0 I am so HYPED for cs Jin!He looks very solid overall. Most of the vids i have seen so far the ch look very solid i think they did a great job with cs so far. CS Jin GET HYPE(Sorry you know it had to done.)
lxMetalSonicxl Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 So the combos I saw that were legit in the videos, going in order from Flash’s post were: On crouching Carl: 6B > 66 > 5B (1 hit) > 5C > 6C > 66 > 66? 5C > Sj > j.2C > j.D > AD > j.2C > j.C > Land > 66 > 5B > 5C 3C didn’t work at the end of the combo. Does 3281 damage. After stuffing a move in the air with j.A: j.A > j.C > jC > j.C > j.D > B/C Musou. Counter hit on airborne Arakune: j.C CH > j.D > Land 66 > 5C > j.B > j.C > jC > j.2C May have height restrictions. Can possibly be comboed further? Counter hit on airborne Arakune in corner: Fubuki A > 66 SJ > j.B > j.C > j.2C > j.D > B/C Musou. Does 2081 damage. On standing Bang: 5B (2hits) CH > 2B > 5C > 2C > B Musou. Does 1818 damage On crouching Bang: 5B (1hit) > 5C > 6C > 2D > 66 > 5C > Sekka-Jin (8hits) > 66 > 5C > Sj j.B > j.C > jC > j.2C > j.C . Does 3339 damage. On Bang: 2D > 66 6C > 66 > 5C > j.C > j.2C > JC > j.2C > B musou. Does 2325 damage.Opponent can air tech after B musou. On Bang: 6C > 66 > 5C > j.C > j.2C > j.C > j.D > C Musou. Does 3243 damage. On Crouching: 5B (2Hits) > 5C >2C > 6C > Ice Arrow Super. Does 3096. A waste I guess unless you want to make sure the oppenent doesn’t burst. On airborne Tager : 5C CH > 5C > 2C > Sj > j.2C > jC > j.2C > j.D > C Musou. Can’t specify damage. On Standing Tager 2: 5C CH > 2D > 6C > 66 > 5C > Sj > j.C > j.2C > jC > j.C > j.2C. Standard air combo at the end but the Jin messed up. On Ragna: j.C CH > 2D > 6B > Sekka-jin > 6C > C Musou. Does 2727 damage On Ragna after ID near corner: 6C CH > 6C > Fubuki B > ? Probably j.C > j.2C > jC > j.2C > j.D > C Musou On Standing Ragna: Falling j.2C > Land 66 > 5B (2Hits) > 5C > Sekka-Jin > 6C > 2D > 6B > 66 > 5B > 3C. Does 2839 damage. On Standing Arakune: 2D > 6B > Sekka-Jin > 6C > C Musou Looks pretty nice so far. Also, no one seems to have even tried the new Distortion successfully.
Jourdal Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pGteSsuBH0 Some gameplay with Dennou... Idk if i was allowed to but i created a CS video thread separate from the the CT video thread...if the mods allow we should post videos in there..

That would awesome!shtkn should take care of that plz.
shtkn Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I figured that all the videos in one place would be more convenient, but i guess if that's what you guys want, ok.
Jourdal Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 I figured that all the videos in one place would be more convenient, but i guess if that's what you guys want, ok. Well since the CT discussion and video threads were separate i figured the same would be done in CS. This is the thread i made..i believe it has all the Jin videos that may be out there. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7786
PozerWolf Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 How do you do Jin's Astral Heat on the Arcade? It seems different than from what it was on console.
shtkn Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 i think i read somewhere it's now [2]8D, but that's not confirmed. can you test it out? i'll update the first post afterwards. also, what are your jin impressions pozerwolf?
Wolf Pup TK Posted November 25, 2009 Author Posted November 25, 2009 I need to find the video where I saw it, but I wanted to mention that it looks like 6A got MUCH faster. Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjAf5ftmYCA at 2:38 Hmm... not as fast as I thought, but it does still look faster than the CT version.

Yup, that works. Looks like flash kick motion for the AH is the way to go. The charge time feels really short too. Like in other words, I can throw you, hold down charge, and then do the AH and it will link. And impression? I'll type up about it some other time. Right now all I have to say is that he feels like a whole new character. Even tho he may LOOK the same, in no way does he play the same. It's to the point were I can't tell if he got better or worse. I need to find the video where I saw it, but I wanted to mention that it looks like 6A got MUCH faster. It's not faster, and you are still unable to special cancel it on block.
