insanity99 Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 i recently got blazblue and am completely in love with it. i have never played a guilty gear game before but have been told it's a better game. i was looking on the major review sites, such as IGN and gamespot but it seems to get an average of 7, while blazblue is a 9. not that this will affect my feelings towards the game, i'm not a sheep. i find it strange because i know it is a hugely popular game. also which guilty gear game do you recommend i play?
Abominable K Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 Sites hate on GG because you're either looking at reviews of Isuka, or they tend to be biased against revisions. If you're gonna pick up a GG game, get Accent Core, as it's the newest one.
Shazay Posted November 25, 2009 Posted November 25, 2009 When it comes to fighting games most critics don't know shit. From IGN's review of #Reload for Xbox: There will be plenty of reason for people to play GGX2 online, thanks to zero lag or latency (at least I never experienced any in my matches) and international rankings. Get Accent Core.
4r5 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 AC+ is like AC, but with more fluff (and possible more bugs)
insanity99 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 ok cool, i dont like my wii anyway...
insanity99 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 yeah no wonder, he is an asshole.
Shelcoof Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Seeing how we are on the subject of Isuka... can anyone provide any more info on the game? I'm interested in picking it up for multi-player party-ness. It's not something I'm seriously going to try to get into but I thought it would be a fun group game. Any feedback at all? Thanks
4r5 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 2v2 looked like it had some promise. But where are you going to find another dude to be your partner and practice 2man combos and setups with and then where are you going to find another pair to fight with? As a party game, I hope you like your parties reaal serious. 'Cause GG isn't very fun to button mash in, and it's double not fun when one of the buttons controls your facing.
Shelcoof Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 This game is actually for the kids. Pair them up with one of the adults there and have a 2v2 or 4 player free for all (I hope there is a 4 FFA available) Its just another idea for a party fighter for everyone. Usually when we have get together everyone gets super tired playing too seriously lol. I'm sure if you had very good competition you get exhausted playing competitively. So what your saying is pass on the idea?
4r5 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 They wouldn't be good competition if you got bored of fighting them. (that, or the whatever game isn't good competitively) anyways, pass, don't pass. shrug. I ain't know you. I dunno what you like. i'm sure you can find it some where for a buck, you ain't losing much for trying
Jam-Kiske Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 It actually works just fine if you explain that the trigger is for turning around and can be used to switch planes. I used to bring Isuka to the place at school where you could play games after school, and random people found it amusing enough without knowing anything.
rtl42 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 potemkin vs potemkin vs potemkin vs potemkin, everyone picks the same colour fun for the whole family, what's not to like!
Blackgenma Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 4r5 is pretty much right on the money. Isuka does not make a good party game unless everyone in the room is familiar and knows how to play GG. party games are supposed to be simplistic, and Isuka is pretty complicated, if anything, you'll just frustrate those your playing with. I don't know too many people who'd enjoy button mashing in that game due to it's format. I played the game with someone who plays GG and he's was like "WTF is going on"? but Isuka is pretty cheap now, so even if you do get, you wont be losing much.
Shelcoof Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 hey guys thanks for the input. I'll avoid it. I have too many games anyways. I'm always looking for an excuse to buy more lol
Effenhoog Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I wish I had a link to that video "review" where that one guy says GG sucks because he can beat his buddy by mashing testament's f.S
Aedesyr Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 the only good thing 'bout isuka are the musics. <3 Daisuke. for everything else, isuka sucks. And the final boss, is probably the worst boss EVER in the videogame history. seriously.
Shelcoof Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 the only good thing 'bout isuka are the musics. <3 Daisuke. for everything else, isuka sucks. And the final boss, is probably the worst boss EVER in the videogame history. seriously. even worse than those SNK and Capcom bosses? I'd look it up myself but info on Isuka is very very hard to come by. Even on here I can't find anything about Isuka.... and this is Dustloop. edit: Found http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpeBMhtjraI damn thats an ugly boss
SSMugen Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 I wish I had a link to that video "review" where that one guy says GG sucks because he can beat his buddy by mashing testament's f.S lol that was on Judgement Day that failure of a review show on G4 (or tech tv? dunno)
Blackgenma Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Isuka isn't so bad that you can't have fun with it. I mess around with it time to time and fight level 999 computers in a 4 player free for all. it's clunky thanks to the turn button, but there's some entertainment to be had with the game. it's the only 2d fighter of it's kind. and yeah, the boss is ass.
insanity99 Posted November 26, 2009 Author Posted November 26, 2009 so does guilty gear have a heavy metal soundtrack? or just references to metal? found guilty gear accent on wii for about £7 on amazon, not a bad price.
