PH33R Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 im on my way for tonight right now, hope to see everyone i saw last time there!!! =)
Vyers Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Ranbat? Ranbats (ranking battles) are tournaments run in a series, usually over the course of a year. Each tournament the top players (either top 3 or top 5) are given points. The next tournament seeding of top players/priority for byes is determined by the amount of points a player has gotten so far. For example: TGA used to run bi monthly ranbats for all their fighting games. In each game the Winner would get 10 points, 2nd place got 7 points, 3rd got 5, 4th got 3, and 5th place got 1 point. If in a particular game you took 1st place in the first ranbat of the season, and 3rd place in the second ranbat; you would have a total of 15 points when seeded in the third ranbat, and if 15 is more points then anyone else has so far you would be the first seed (first priority for byes, seeded on the opposite end of the bracket from the second seed, etc).
Kayin Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Good games, everyone. I had a great time, cracking out on MBAA was a fucking blast. It's so good to be back on the east coast.
Nuclear Cheese Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 GG's to all. Kayin - once again, great to have you back! It's too bad they kicked us out before we could get the MB and GG tournaments going, but oh well ...
PH33R Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Great seeing everyone again, and always good to see some new faces, although i am a tad upset that the MB tourney never finished... seriously cheese, u know i would have beaten your ass... 4 perfects in a row, with neco-arc... no competition as for street fighter 4... lets not talk about it.... its pretty terrible... *sigh* i tip my hat to kayin, as he is one hell of a mb player, nice meeting you man, hope to see u next week
Fraga Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Well, I would have the Information for the SF4 tournament, but my CPU crashed before I got home before I put all the info down. I do know the Top 4 though: 1) Tony B ($20) 2) Bryan 3) Gonz 4) Shady J And for the Mess that was the SF4 tournament, we need official start times, because people entering Mid-competition isn't right. Even if I was misinformed in some areas, it just shouldn't happen. I'm thinking 11:30, with MBAA starting earlier, maybe 11:15. Thanks alot to Gonz and Tony B for helping to fix the situation. Last-Night Brackets =

so moe kona Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 I'll eventually get my shit leveled up in Guilty. Then I'll actually have fun playing against people who I normally get bodied by on a weekly basis. Too much HnK. Mad broken but mad fun. :D Also, Tales and I had our anime "money" match in Garou: Mark of the Wolves at blueNINE's place. I won 3-1. I played Tizoc (The Griffon). Tales played Kain. So the anime he has to watch is Naisho no Tsubomi. Thanks for the idea, Furok. :D
agp24 Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 *Cries* I couldn't break my anti air for crap. Next week, we're practicing some more Garou if you're up to it. Now I've got to go watch an anime about puberty. -_- Ugh.

so moe kona Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 He was gonna make me watch English dubbed One Piece. FUCK THAT.
Fraga Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 He was gonna make me watch English dubbed One Piece. FUCK THAT. Why not the English dub of Ranma 1/2? Or possibly Naruto? Maybe even Lucky Star? It doesn't matter, they're ALL BAD DUBS!
Kayin Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 English dubbed One Piece is worse than all of those combined. English dubbed Lucky Star at least has this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn5qV8HTsF8
agp24 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Am I the only one who preferred the dub of Lucky Star? By the way, I was joking about One Piece, Kona. -_- I was going to make you watch Gurren Lagann.
so moe kona Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Also, I love the fact that English Konata sounds like Eliza Thornberry from The Wild Thorberries. BITCHIN'! :D
Zoob Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 But Gurren Lagan is manly and it was a slice of life match, as well.
Fraga Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Oh Zoob, when will we start up Serious Casuals again? Those were fun
agp24 Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 I know Gurren Lagann is manly, it's my favorite anime. When was it a slice of life match? I remember saying that I was probably going to have to watch a slice of life anime, but I don't remember saying I'd make him watch one. If I did, I apologize.
so moe kona Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 It was an anime match. I just happen to chose slice of life which is my genre of choice. If you won, you would've chose Gurren Lagann. I'm just an asshole and kinda want to make you suffer if you lost. I thought if it was something bad, it'd give you more of a will to win. :D
