BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 like i said, if you understand hakumen, this match shouldn't be very hard for you. in a nutshell, the matchup goes like this; you own the neutral game because you have better pokes (5B, 5C, j.C) and you can beat jin easily in the air (barrier jump, j.C, j.D). once jin gets in however, you have to be able to block (NOT MASH D) his mixups. this is probably where many of you are having trouble. jin's mixup isn't that threatening when you respect it, though. he has some good frametraps and can keep you in blockstun for awhile, but for the most part if you just (instant) block whatever he throws at you and use the frame advantage to jump out, he can't do much about it. note how i said ib and then jump, not ib and then press a button; because the latter is EXACTLY what jin wants you to do. i really can't stress enough how good ib is in this game, and particularly for hakumen. ever noticed how japanese hakumens always seem to have full meter about 15-20 seconds into the match? it's because they're instant blocking. even if you have shit reactions and subpar yomi, you should still be able to ib the obvious stuff like jin 6B. anyways, there's my two cents. and since i may not ever end up finishing that guide, i'll start to hang out in the matchup threads, though i can't really help much with arakune, hazama or the dlc characters. Good shit.
Wolf of Sorrow Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 -Watch out when you J.C or J.2C cause you can get counter by an Anti-air attack. -He can run. Does his 214B is invincible?
mAc Chaos Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 Do you mean his 623B? It has some invincibility but not frame 1.
Wolf of Sorrow Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 no not that one, the 1 that waste 2 Magatama.
LordSpectreX Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Jin doesn't use magatama. 623B is invincible from frame 5 or so. It makes it a good to stop pressure, but not so good on wakeup. 623C is invincible from frame 1, but severly lacks horizontial range. And if anyone doesn't care about that, it's Hakumen. 623D is invincible from frame 1, requires 25% heat. Has unblockable properties if charged and has good horizontial range and vertical range. Yukikaze is invincible from frame 1, as I'm sure you know. But it's only Highs and Mids. And what Hakumen's do an overhead on wakeup anyway? 6321436D is invicible from frame 1, requires 50% heat, has non-barrier unblockable propertieis and deals heavy damage. Overall, I'd recommend a very defensive, turtling Hakumen for this matchup. Jin's like to turtle as well, but Hakumen is better at it. Jin also lacks mixup and ways to keep you in pressure safely. And that's in general, I'm not even factoring in Hakumen's Counters. 2D will counter EVERYTHING Jin has without heat, apart from his overhead.
Wolf of Sorrow Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 never mine i was talkin about FIREFLY (214B, in air of HAKUMEN!not jin...)
