Oi. The biggest problem between them is who know about the first known bread and butter better and who can use the movement provided from drive the best.

Delayed stances from mid range are suicide... free CH/FC combos... not pleasant, not pleasant at all.

So I'm a pretty bad Hazama trying to get used to fighting against the other beginner Hazamas. Is there a best way to punish people who snake in after you block their drive attack (5D->5B or similar)? I'm getting used to using just 5A, but I was wondering if there's anything better.

I feel like this matchup is a lot about being more offensive than normal. Hazama has a lot of good Guard Primer breaking moves that are safe on block. This becomes even better because Hazama only has 4 Guard Primers. I'm not saying that you need to rely on crushing a block, but the threat will be present in a good player's mind, which will mean they have to come out of their shell and take risks.

This matchup is all about whoever gets the first knockdown. Other guy can't really do much about it until he has the heat, and even then it's still risky.

In order to play this matchup effectively i find two things to be important. This may very well be alot harder than it sounds, but do your absolute best to not let the other hazama's chains touch you. Your ideal goal should be not to have to block or be hit by them. Drain him of his chains and force him to stay on the ground for 120 frames (2 seconds) to recuperate. Most hazama's like to jump and do j.6d (yoga sniper for you street fighter guys). An effective counter to that is to j. 5d. The basic idea is to guess what type of chain the opponent will do. If its j.6d, do j.5d. if its j.5d, do st. 6d. if he does st. 5d, do j. 6d. like ixRenegade said previously its rock, paper, Carnage scissors.

lastly 214d->b murders the other hazama's 214d pressure. interrupt that shit with rising fang. I know this is a given by now but don't be caught doing 214d pressure after 3c. Just do 236c (jabaki) and make it safe

It only beats 236236B if he's already in stance. At that point.. why would he want to 236236B you. It's obvious you can DP with 1 button.. It's like DP'n a guy standing there and thinking oh he won't reversal during superflash.

Been playing a shit load of this match up recently so...

-Ib chains whenever possible, its like a free anything if they chain in.

-houtenjin beats 214d~a and b so if you have meter and see one coming It's a free FC.

-If they whiff a chain and chain in with D you can easily get em with 214d~B

-Bait those chains

-I feel 2C anti air is somewhat unreliable in this match-up, it's just too slow. I say stick to 5a is the go to Anti Air, but that's me :/

-Watch out for command grab, It's the one thing that gives haz decent mixup.

-C follow-up can usually be stuffed by 5a.

-Keep your pressure safe and varied, abusing stance leads to getting houtenjined. You got 5b for a reason, use those frame traps.

P.S. Don't be free like me :/
