TaoFTW Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Oh yeah, John, I reserved the MPR for May 1. GET DEER HYPE, ITS GONNA GO DOWN IN DEVRY! I would be excited if it wasn't the same day as my sister's birthday. D: I have to skip out on the action.
CakeWasBannedd Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 OH NOE U DIDN'T!!!1!! I don't recall anyone from socal ever traveling to norcal and then OCV'ing every single team in one of our tournys before. /salty Honestly I would go to Norcal if I could, just since I've chatted with Rin quite a bit on Aim and Dacid a little bit around the forums, but my friend apparently hates all of you or something?

Personally I don't really care where you chose to go, its your trip, your choice, your money. But May 29th Daisuke and Toshimori's comin' to town, me and TaoFTW are for sure going as fellow Tao's. Also the monthly ranbat is happening that weekend and you know pretty much everyone who comes to that event. You're not gonna see the Godfather of GG/BB getting your ass kicked at AI by Dacid's uneventful 5a. And DF2K has opinions? lol.. Daisooke loves NorCal. Just my two cents :/
CakeWasBannedd Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 And DF2K has opinions? lol.. What's that supposed to mean? Just because he sounds like a robot doesn't mean he is one. DF3K is still in beta, you know.
CopperDabbit Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Hey gaiz, I'm a gonna be at SVGL from 4-8 today if anyone wants to join me.
STenSatsu Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Socal doesn't play fighting games or have jobs. They play Starcraft. :3 As for Norcal, well, we have raging hobos mashing marvel and the only Tsubaki troll in America. Psh, I'll troll with her once console comes out. =P
Coopa Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Screw Blaz Blue. I never knew jumps had throw invulnerability on startup. I'm going to go play visual novels until my rage falls over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGHhQlLUK_4&feature=related

Rin: uneventful?!

I'm going to go play visual novels until my rage falls over: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGHhQlLUK_4&feature=related Mix this in with the fact that air throws in BB aren't nearly as good as in GG and you'll see why I don't play this much Give me a normal air throw for every character that can be done at any height (like Bang TK'ing a command throw) and I'm there.

I don't know if we've been playing the same game, but BBCS air throws are GDLK
Spirit Juice Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 No, BB air throws are hot garbage. A lot of air dashing games have throw invulnerability for the start up frames of jumps.
Honnou Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 Sorry 5acidbro, I think you're playing a crazy game and Spirit Juice is correct.
Spirit Juice Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 MB also has throw invulnerability on jump start up. Not sure about AH, but it probably has that too. Can't really think of any other mainstream air dashing games that might have it. Maybe HnK? Not sure.
qwerty Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 jump startup is still 4 frames with throw startup being 7. and then you have that A+B+C garabge, so it's like uh.... plus at least on a personal level, i haven't been using air throws at all since hakumen gained his full retard j.C.
Spirit Juice Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 OS Throw is pretty awful now. You're better off doing regular throw if you're expecting it/reacting to it.
qwerty Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 except that i'm talking about the throw break option select, which is still very viable and good.

Who's going?
Spirit Juice Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 except that i'm talking about the throw break option select, which is still very viable and good. Considering the tech time for OS throw is 5 frames and the reject throw window after is pretty huge, I wouldn't say that. OS Air throw is pretty good though.

RinHara5aki Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 May's singles tournament will be on the 22nd, not the 29th. I thought it was every third satu- I'm an idiot. EDIT: Wait... or I thought it was every last saturday.. what now I'm confused. 4/10 was the second saturday and 4/24 is the fourth. Why would that change next month? D:
TaoFTW Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 I heard that Daisooke is coming to town during some fanimoo convention on May 29th. :3 Breakdown of May: 5/1: NCI GGAC, MBAA, T6 Ranbat 5/8: SVGL BBCS Doubles 5/15: N/A 5/22: SVGL BBCS Singles 5/29: Fanimoo

I'm just not sure how you would do it. Would you need most of the dustloop peeps to come?
Coopa Posted April 18, 2010 Posted April 18, 2010 :3 if you would kindly,Coopa-san If I use my connections to help make a pitch, that would be outside my jurisdiction. I'd probably have to talk to Haunts about it first, and then see if it's AOK, to get IPW behind us as well. Seeing how busy the guy is, I'm not sure if I can get IPW 100% backing John on the Minor idea. That, and I'm a lazy bastard. I haven't really done anything IPW-related besides grab some connections, but those were mostly for people, not IPW, as much as I hate to say it.
