Unfortunately we're in East Hollywood without a car. So heading to AI would be a bit of a roadtrip by bus. We're considering it though cuz we really want to meet people to play with but before we make the two-hour treck, wanted to ask two things: - are there usually people playing bb at certain times during the week? or should we just keep an eye on this thread? - we kind of suck Well, okay, that's a bit harsh. But we've only been playing with sticks for a month or so, and we're still learning a lot of the more advanced tactics. Is the SoCal scene for JP EXPERT ONRY, or do you guys not mind playing scrubs now and then? anyway, hope to meet some of y'alls soon.

Randomly, people show up on other days (me), but it's probably best to just keep an eye on this thread. Everyone is super nice!

And, in my opinion, FFA is better than AI for BB in every way, except that it's 50¢ to play at FFA vs 25¢ at AI. I would not go without knowing in advance that other people will be there. Unless you're going on a weekend night in which case there probably will be, or if you want the cabinet to yourself so you can practice. Between FFA and AI I've only played a few people who are good enough to have an attitude like they're too good to play scrubs, but they don't. You may get trolled a little. I did, but not by Zong or Sev, and I just shrugged it off.
uglyloli Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 thanks everyone! i'm relieved attitude doesn't seem to be a problem - i actually really enjoy playing people who can beat my ass. the SFIV scene around here is like that, and i've made a lot of friends and gotten a lot of good advice that way. quiche (the so) was doing research on locales and he seems to think FFA might be the better choice. i'll probably want to check both out eventually. i'll keep an eye on this thread and maybe next weekend we'll try to make a trip. Beware of Trolls. Just sayin'. hahhahaa, do you mean they'll troll us irl, or within the game? either way, i think we'll be okay. you know, i could tell you a pretty cool story about trolling BB fans... but that's for another day (ominous)
