I'm looking to improve in GG. I also want to learn to play on stick. Looking for sparring partners to help me practice my execution on stick around the OC area. I'm also most likely going to start GG sessions at my UCI sessions. If I held some biweekly tournaments, would people be interested?

More details please.

You told him what? Not to come to the arcade? :psyduck:

That 2 hours is a hell of a drive to make ~2-3 times a week.

Expensive if he had shitty mileage.

Dangerous if he starts to get tired. <- I know a lot about this one.

My constant mild complaining makes me feel better about myself for driving there.

Your dedication is admirable. :hat tip:

I'm afraid I do too. My brother fell asleep at the wheel and had a pretty bad accident (it didn't help that he was drinking). Fortunately, nobody else was involved and he walked away unharmed.

Besides always driving long distances it doesn't help that I'm constantly running on very little sleep. The time before last, when I left AI I had been up for 24 hours, lol. Caffeine FTW.

Have you had an accident or just close calls?

Just close calls all day everyday.

But like. Driving back from norcal, I was tired.

Had a 5 hour energy drink.

Had a coffee.

Had a starbucks double shot.

Had a huge red bull.

Had something else.

STILL ALMOST DIED BECAUSE NOTHING WORKED. D:

No surprise that nothing works when you're already loaded on it.

In fact, I think after a certain point it'd actually be dangerous to STOP the influx of artificial high.

Yeah I know how this is. :(

The worst is when you catch yourself veering off, you get startled and you're full of adrenaline so you're like, "HOLY SHIT, OK, NOW I'M UP!". Then, 5 minutes later you're nodding off again.

Story of my life.

@Alex: lol @ withdrawals.

Too much caffeine is bad. I would know. I collapsed at work once due to fatigue and overdosing caffeine. Bad bad combo.

Anyways, details will be posted as soon as I set them in stone and figure everything out. Gonna test out PS2 to the school projector for lag. If none, then I will use that as a setup instead of a small CRT (Although I'm horrible at telling if there's lag, so I'm gonna prolly find someone to help with that, lol).

Also, if biweekly is a bit much for you guys, I can do every 3 weeks (triweekly? is that a word?) or once a month. I would just like a decent turnout instead of like 3-4 guys, so I can and will accomodate to you guys if you're driving from far out.

I just want to be able to play GG and I really want to learn stick cuz it sucks loving to play GG but not being able to play cuz all I know is pad =(

Well, I'd say before you get too far ahead with planning biweekly tournaments, we should try to get casuals going first.

I might be able to borrow a PS2 stick from someone soon since I can't play GG on pad for the life of me (anymore).

You crazy people and not sleeping. DRIVE SAFELY, ASSHOLES or you'll make me cry at night. D:

As for the GG things, I can try and poke around with my friends to see if they'll go. They're all "OMFG GUILTY GEAR <3" right now. The only problem is that they're EXTREMELY lazy...

I'm also going to be bothering a friend to borrow his PS2 stick, lol. Really want to be able to play on stick so I can play at the random times I go to AI.

The reason behind biweekly tournaments is cuz we have UCI SSF4 ranbats every 2 weeks. Season 1 is gonna end soon and when season 2 starts, I'm going to throw a side tourney for a different game. My goal is GGAC. The only reason why it would be every 2 weeks, but thats reworkable.

This thurs is going to be the test session, with the PS2 to projector if anyone wants to try to make it out. Don't expect anything big though. It's mainly gonna be a SSF4 sesh for the UCI peepz while I try to configure GGAC to work on the projector. Might have some random MB people too, lol.

I don't have a ps2 stick atm either.

I'll try and build one soon. >.>

OMFGARZ DEM GUILTEE GEARZZZZZ. :]

It's a fun game, once you find your character.

I always have BB with me at the sessions, but playingit really depends on turnout. Usually I get my SSF4 heads than BB heads. But we tend to move to BBCS once the SSF4 heads, but that usually ends up being a late night session at someone's house, lol.

I agree, GG is a really fun game, and once you find a char its awesome. But I find every character in that game intriguing and fun, so I like hitting random and learning the character I randomed into for a month or so. Its really fun!

That's cool. Kind of what I did with BB when I started to get bored.

Who are you leaning toward atm?

Posted

I find out in 2 hours when I get home from work and pop in AC and hit random, lol. For the while being, I was re-learning Jam. She and Baiken were my mains for AC.

Wandering into AI randomly at 10PM on a Wednesday night has taught me that only SSFIV players like to go on any given day.

On the upside, I learned how to FRC Baiken's tatami mat.

On the downside, I still don't know how to play GG. :psyduck:
