toanenadiz Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I am sort of confused now. From a gold burst, can Arakune outright kill you or does it just put him into awesome mode?
ZONG_one Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I am sort of confused now. From a gold burst, can Arakune outright kill you or does it just put him into awesome mode? He's not going to kill you unless he drops and resets. But you will probably eat 5k.
shtkn Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 you CAN kill off gold bursts, however damage is prorated (i forget by how much). You CANNOT kill off Counter-Assaults (alpha counters)
toanenadiz Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 you CAN kill off gold bursts, however damage is prorated (i forget by how much). You CANNOT kill off Counter-Assaults (alpha counters)' I meant one of those one-shot kills everyone has been talking about for the last few pages. I didn't know that you couldn't kill from CAs, though. Thanks.
ZONG_one Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I knew that, Kevin. What I meant is basically 100% combo off of gold burst isn't going to happen.
A.X.I.S. Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 you CAN kill off gold bursts, however damage is prorated (i forget by how much). You CANNOT kill off Counter-Assaults (alpha counters) doesn't gold burst prorate 80%? also soujiro don't compare clap loop to ara's death combo. clap loop can be confirmed from full screen. ara has to be close and hit you with a j.C or a 2C. clap loop means you have to burst the first hit. ara's air throw only works midscreen, he can't get 100% curse way up high. ara's kill combo will never be as free as the clap. of course if you never got full screen confirmed clap then you wouldn't know where I'm coming from.
Dacidbro Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Ara's insta-fever still isn't clap, at all. Clap is a one shot kill off so many small hits, where if you do not burst you immediately have lost, with many characters. Ara, at best, will get fever, and THEN potentially one shot kill you if you fail again. So it's about half potency. Lol. kou, you are comparing previous curse combo damages to CS curse combo damages as if it is a valid comparison, whereas in CT curse did not open up opportunities for one shot kills, no matter how broken CT Ara's curse guard pressure was. Besides, in CT, you could feasibly successfully counter assault and curse was immediately over. Not so much anymore, unless it's very very late curse, in which case it's usually a waste. 100% curse everywhere just bothers me because I know they wanted Arakune to be a fun, tense character, where curse built gradually, and then exploded. But that's not what happens almost ever. Lol.
Skye Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I'd just like to say to Dacid that theoretically improving his offense (not his offensive options) is not proper compensation for removing a powerful defensive asset. The same result will happen, only with a back handed cherry on top.
Dacidbro Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 I don't understand at all. I don't believe I ever mentioned Ara's defense.
qwerty Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 hold upback, press buttons just be sure to pick the character with the best buttons
A.X.I.S. Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 jump back is so strong man, I lose to it like all the time. yars.
Dacidbro Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 What. Bang is second? What does Litchi have that's better than his 5A? And Arakune is now A tier. What. :8/: I was re-reading this thread to find the tier list for a friend, and was shocked to find someone really didn't know Litchi was better than Bang on all official tier lists.
Spirit Juice Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Horitzontal placement in tier lists doesn't really account for anything unless otherwise stated in the tier list.
Wirya Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Tier list is flowing like water in a river. You forget that and you'll get your head spinning EDIT: Ara is A? Oh no, I'm not gonna regret leaving him, never....
Dacidbro Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 Horitzontal placement in tier lists doesn't really account for anything unless otherwise stated in the tier list. Be that as it may, I don't really believe Ragna is on quiite the same level as Bang Litchi man, and the three have been in the same order every time. Though that gets incredibly subjective.
Lord Knight Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 There's a recent tier list? News to me. All I've heard is educated opinions.
mAc Chaos Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Who wants a new tier list??? HEre you go! [bBCS] Character Ranking 2010 April "Arcadia" S: Litchi, Arakune, Ragna A: Arakune, Hakumen, Carl B: Hazama, Jin, Taokaka, Lamda C: Tsubaki, Noel, Tager D: Rachel Well it looked like they fucked up and didn't proofread, Bang is still probably number two. Doesn't seem like the tier list changed Unless we got trolled, this is it. :P
smooshman Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Arakune's in two spots, holy shit. damn teleport shennanigans and invisibility.
dehumanizer Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Arakune's in two spots, holy shit. He should be in S and D tier for the fact that without curse he's shit and with it .
Spirit Juice Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 SJ: Define horizontal placement. Who wants a new tier list??? HEre you go! [bBCS] Character Ranking 2010 April "Arcadia" S: Litchi, Arakune, Ragna A: Arakune, Hakumen, Carl B: Hazama, Jin, Taokaka, Lamda C: Tsubaki, Noel, Tager D: Rachel Well it looked like they fucked up and didn't proofread, Bang is still probably number two. Doesn't seem like the tier list changed I'm referring to the order of each character in their respective tiers. In other words, Arakune, Hakumen, and Carl are not in any particular order; they are all equal. Pretty much in most tier lists, the order is not significant. The only time this is the case would be if you derived the tier list from a match up chart (which is not always accurate).
Neo Balrog Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Two times Arakune! Oh yes! Bang is miss tier? There are any matchup list?
ZONG_one Posted May 7, 2010 Posted May 7, 2010 Thanks, SJ. I was thinking about it, and came to that conclusion. I just didn't have internet access. I'm a scrub. haha.
Skye Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Two times Arakune! Oh yes! Bang is miss tier? There are any matchup list? First post bro. THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL CHART. THIS IS A CHART BY THE COMMUNITY, FOR THE COMMUNITY. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING. The purpose of this thread is to discuss BB:CS match-ups in a mature manner so as to fill out a chart with accurate ratios for the benefit of the community. I gathered information from the closest thing to a prior match-up chart (arcadia's magazine chart) and tried to interpret the disagreements as best as I could. BUT! That doesn't mean my views are correct, nor does it mean Arcadia is entirely correct, either, which is why I bring this chart to you, the community. I request any and all knowledgeable players to help clear up misunderstandings and correct incorrect match-ups. You don't have to be good at the game to be knowledgeable, but more experienced players are more likely to be knowledgeable than less experienced players. Here is a link to the old BB:CT Match-up Chart. Character Analysis for Match-Up Chart by Spirit Juice Part 1 Part 2 I will update this chart as the meta-game changes and as valid arguments are given. Update 001 - 10.02.27 The following counts how many kinds of match-ups each character has. This is used to break ties. T.G.M = Total Good Match-Ups T.E.M. = Total Even Match-Ups T.B.M. = Total Bad Match-Ups "Even" means "all even match-ups not including the mirror." Update 001 - 10.02.27 The rest of this post will act like a FAQ as I'm fairly certain most people on DL know what a match-up chart means. Each match-up is determined by weighing each character's abilities and what they can do to each other assuming the two players are of equal skill level at high level play. This means that we assume that both players know of every single match-up and play each match-up in the most optimal way to win.The match-ups shown are when two characters play 10 rounds against each other to see how many games each character would win. The number is multiplied by 10 to eliminate decimals (so 6.5-3.5 would be 65-35).The Rating is the sum of all match-ups for a character minus the total number of characters times the number for an even match-up. Ex.: sum of Bang's match-ups is 805 so: 805-(14*50) = 105Groups of characters on this chart are divided by uncommon large differences between two adjacent characters. This number can change from chart to chart, but will always be apparent. This is merely to make it easier to read the chart. The "Difference" column shows the difference between the character beside the number and the character above the number. Bang has no one above him so he has no difference. The basic format of the chart was adopted from Street Fighter's system. How to read the chart: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=458841&postcount=66 Feel free to PM me if you have any questions not answered on this post.
