Necrosis Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 No more broken than most games people take seriously IMO. Really, excluding one character you need to ban, how is this game less balanced than MvC2? >>
Jet Set Dizzy Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 No more broken than most games people take seriously IMO. Really, excluding one character you need to ban, how is this game less balanced than MvC2? >> It's definatley not less balanced than mvc2 without petshop, or probably even with petshop.
Koozebanian Fazoob Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Nah, MvC2 has a pretty decent roster of playable characters who are pretty balanced amongst themselves. Petshop completely runs this game, 9-1 ranks almost across the board. Remove him and it's not that bad, but you've still got tons of infinites and 100% combos all over the place. I'd liken this game more to a slightly less balanced HnK than anything else.
Villainous Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 I used to play this all the time when I was younger, I've got it for the DC, shit still works too. I was waiting for people to maybe pick it up one day so now I gotta get back into it. There's so many fun characters to play in this game.
CrimsonDisaster Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 more like HnK is Jojo's Post-Apocalyptic Adventure
Villainous Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 So what do you guys play this on? I'm trying to get mame to work but the shit doesn't even seem to have a button config >_< I can still keyboard mash my way to victory though.
Villainous Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Well, that worked. Now I have to figure out how to get it to read PS2->USB converter inputs...hmm..
Kix Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Well, that worked. Now I have to figure out how to get it to read PS2->USB converter inputs...hmm.. Will Xpadder work?
Kix Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Hmm, what's Xpadder? Never heard of it. It's a program that recognizes controllers and you press all of the buttons. Then there is a main screen and you simply hold the button and it will light up. Then you click it and configure it to anything on the keyboard! So if you can only configure keyboard the program then thinks that the button the controller is whatever key you make it. For instance, on the Ps2 controller let's say you make square b and triangle o. You could type "Bob" by pressing square triangle square.
Aurelious Posted December 6, 2007 Posted December 6, 2007 Yea, it's useful for anyone who likes to play MMORPG's with a controller. I played FFXI and it had PS2 controller support and it spoiled me. I can't play another MMO without a controller. Thanks Xpadder! Anyway, where could one go to get some guides on characters? I'm interested in Kakyoin and the guy with the Anubis Sword(forgot name) and the guy with his shadow as a stand and short (Iggy or Alessy I think, been so long)
Necrosis Posted December 8, 2007 Posted December 8, 2007 I play on the CPS3 emulator found here. No xpadder/joytokey/whatever required, it takes inputs from the joystick on its own. Also, I use the Final Burn Alpha that comes with GGPO for other games that FBA will play, since it does the same. Joytokey annoys me. Very much. Guides probably don't exist, but there's someone who made videos of every character's bread and butters and put them up on youtube. Strategy and such is mostly up to you, but those help a lot on combos. Here's a whole ton of links: Jotaro, Joseph, Abdul, Kakyoin, Polnareff, Iggy, New Kakyoin, Young Joseph/Jojo, Shadow Dio, Devo, Midler, Rubber Soul, Chaka, Khan, Anubis/Black Polnareff, Mariah, Alessi, Hol Horse and Boingo, Pet Shop, Vanilla Ice/Iced, Dio Missing normal Hol Horse and I'm pretty sure that's it. A lot of the Hol Horse and Boingo stuff applies to normal Hol Horse anyway IIRC.
The Chopper Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 Ah, Thanks alot. Those helped quite a bit. Been meaning to look into this game more. Now I have a reason to
F-12 Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 Does anyone know the code to unlock Shadow Dio & co. for the emulator?
woof Posted December 24, 2007 Posted December 24, 2007 kakyoin and hol horse are the shit that is all
Necrosis Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 Arcade code is: Go to Game -> Configuration Up down right left A B C D You hear a WRYYYYYY when it's complete, and you get all of the time-unlock characters. (A - C are attacks, D is stand button)
F-12 Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 I set my game to Japanese and I've been doing the input but nothing seems to happen, will try again, and if that doesn't work I'll switch back to the old emu :/
eien_tsubasa XD Posted December 25, 2007 Posted December 25, 2007 although i find the game broken, my favorite characters are Jotaro and Anubis Polnareff.
Necrosis Posted December 26, 2007 Posted December 26, 2007 It's balanced enough for me to take it seriously... mostly because of all the broken, but still balanced. F-12, you have to be in game -> configuration, are you doing that? Because I've actually had people just sitting in the general menu and telling me it wouldn't work.
Ryuk Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I found and bought the PS1 version on ebay for 50 bucks. Was this a good deal?
BagLunch Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 I found and bought the PS1 version on ebay for 50 bucks. Was this a good deal? The single player Super Story Mode is pretty damn awesome if you're a jojo fan.
The Chopper Posted January 7, 2008 Posted January 7, 2008 Yea, I just bought it too.(for 68, but it was new and sealed) Big ass JoJo fan. Kinda wanted the awesome Japanese cover art though, but being able to understand the story trumped that.
Ryuk Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 As, yes, mine was used. You got a pretty good deal though. I saw new sealed ones going for over 90
