Generally speaking there are 0 air juggles in Jojo so if you're testing something in training mode and it leads into some kind of repeated jump attack/infinite or air combo or something then it doesn't work in matchplay.

That said, some characters have good ways for hitting an opponent who has air recovered and in doing so keeping them in the air.

SQ is the best jojo player I have ever seen... every time his site updates with a new digest vid it's like an early Christmas!

Sadly, the last time that happened was around this time LAST YEAR.

His site also contains some useful info like general guides to Hol Horse and Black Polnareff as well as links to other sites that contain more detailed systems info.

Another thing about the big huge cancelling window: Try this: take regular Dio, put your opponent into the corner, and do 5C xx 236C. Do it fast like you normally would, and then mash on 5C for more hits. You'll see that your opponent gets slammed to the floor very quickly. Now, do the same thing, but delay the 236C slightly so that your opponent floats just a little bit before The World comes out. You'll notice that you can tack on a LOT more hits. Do you guys know about the lever/stick/N-cancel technique? (Zo-No calls it lever/stick cancel, SQ calls it N-cancel.) It allows for impossible links from rapid fire light attacks. e.g. Black Polnareff cannot normally combo "5A, 5B". It just doesn't link. However, if you do "5A, (tap down), 5B" with correct timing, it will combo. By changing the character's standing/crouching state during recovery of a rapid fire light attack, you can cut the recovery down and buy yourself enough time to link into a move that you would not normally be able to. Insert LOL CROUCH CANCEL LOL. Does anybody know how many frames of input delay there are on the CPS3 emulators, and whether it's a consistent delay or not?

I still quiet don't grasp tandem attacks.

Let's see.. if I saw correctly, what is Kakyoin doing in those vids?

2AA 66A(or B) Tandem Attack(Mash on A? or go ABCABCABC etc..) > Roll to other side > Mash on A

That's what I think I saw for basic tandem combo, but I am not sure, I can't get it going. D:

That's the basic idea yeah... I'm pretty sure the input for the Tandem depends on the character though. But yeah, the basic idea is to do tell the stand to do ABC and then you want to connect your A in time so that the stand can combo the C into the next A. I'm not sure if there's any trick to the timing or not. I do know that the whole works is VERY complicated with Kakyoin and you can do lots of insane net setups and such with it. I'm sure you've seen the kind of combos I'm talking about. :I

Since this game is ancient and CPS3 is a fucking scam anyway, I'm fine with people putting up the roms/emulators for download here.

Oh alright, I'll upload the emulator and rom later, then. It's cool how fast CPS3 emulator has been coming to place though. And yeah, I've seen his combos, pretty great stuff but I am still trying to practice it, I got a hang of his tandem combo now though.

I'll be happy if some multiplayer is ever released. I always play this game once in a while just because the concept is really cool and I'm a big Jojo comic fan. Now a question of mine I don't quite get, maybe you can help me baglunch. For meter building Jotaro does 5C->236S->unsummon Stand->Repeat. That's all fine and dandy but it's actually a little slow when I do it. However, if I MASH the Stand button like hell after inputting 236S it will randomly unsummon really fast. Is there a real technique to this? I've seen some matches where someone does this repeatedly and non sloppily(IE I accidentally resummon my stand due to the mashing), so is there a technique to it?

Hmm dunno if it goes here but since this is a CPS3 it won't hurt to ask. How come there are very little CPS3 games? There are 2 ingenious ones like Jojo and Warzard (4 characters is it actually balanced ? lol Can imagine Leo being top.) while it has some solid fighter which is SFIII. Why no further development? The spritework in all of these 3 games (not counting the upgrades) are amazing.

I'm not 100% sure on this one.

On one hand it seems that there's a point in the attack where you can just hit the S button and it'll quickly disappear. On the other hand, this seems hard to do. I don't know exactly what the input delay is on the emulators for CPS3, but it's probably enough to make a difference.

On the other hand, if you try holding the down direction after doing the attack, you'll find that you can flip the stand off quite quickly quite reliably. Dunno if it falls under N-cancel.

The only games for CPS3 is: Red Earth, Jojo 1 and 2, the 3 SFIII games. Reason behind this is because it was a bit expensive making games for this system, or so did capcom say, thus they stopped using it. As you can see they made their last 2 games on the Naomi board instead.

Random point of interest: After regular Dio does 236S, he can dismiss his stand very quickly seemingly with almost no special timing. However, his 236S does not build super meter like Jotaro's.

To add to what Baglunch said, it's not just down that lets you turn off the stand quick. Walking forward or back will have the exact same effect. So it seems that at some point, you can cancel the animation with crouch, walk forward/back, and immediately cancel any of those into unsummon. Lever/Stick cancel now makes sense to me, you basically want to cancel move recovery with either standing up, crouching, or walking left or right and immediately cancel that into your intended move. Which explains the whole thing about not seeing yourself crouch. Like you could do 236S, tap duck, S~LP it'll look like you cancelled the stand attack into that knee without ever crouching or moving forwards/back.

Just out of curiosity, who plays this and was at Evo North? I had my DC and was all ready to set the game up, but they stole all the TVs for CvS2 on the only day I was there.

i don´t know if it already has been asked, but how do i use `Ol Horses bullets effectively (i know i can put in the direction while he freezes) but when do i do it, they just dont seem effective enough....i never touch the stand button when playing `ol horse ! all i do is 623 into 214 into super of choice and i´d like to know how the fuck challenge mode works...i play and play, and then my life runs out and i get killed by the 8th opp. sometimes vanilla ice comes around and fucks me with his unblockable invulnerable super crap...so, no extra chars for unlocked so far >_<

Stand button is good for hol horse, I personally just let it go straight (optional up afterwards if I predict a jump) and use it as part of my keepaway game since he's not too much about combos IMO. Challenge mode ends at stage 10 after you fight Dio/Jotaro IIRC. Basically arcade mode + survival mode. I've been playing this on the emulators recently. I can finally play my scrubby Dio on stick, and make him slightly less scrubby as a result!

Whats the official tier list? Oh, my mains are Iggy, Jojo, and the native american dude. Its been awhile since I playeds this game but I still want to play it with peeps.

O SHI- I have strats for hol horse to post! Oki game is stupid, you can basically loop this one unblockable all day and if they reversal roll out you throw them or something I guess, otherwise they're completely screwed. Or just wait and do it over there too, or something. Anyway, the unblockable is glass move -> sweep. No idea on tiers but Pet Shop and Shadow Dio are apparently often considered the best in the game.

Go a few posts back.. There was some tiers posted. I believe it is agreed that Pet Shop is God-Tier(Soft banned) and Kakyoin, Jotaro, and I forgot who else as top-tier.

Joseph tips please. What is the best way to deal with Dio's teleport? PS I might just buy a cabinnet for this within the next year.

The best way to deal with Dio's teleport is to get grabbed by Dio.

How do you do Dio's The world super where he freezes time?

6CA6D for za warudo I think. Also Joseph sucks, that is why I stopped playing him. I used to think he had some nice stylish combos that did decent damage, then I found out you can air recovery freaking everything in this game.
