Yggjrasil Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 lol im pretty sure I could learn Johnny, I mean how could I not when there's like 10 Johnny players in norcal and they ALL PLAY ALIKE D:<
STenSatsu Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 May is super easy to pick up and win with imo. Her combo is fairly universal and you get into it from just about everything. Her FRCs aren't too bad either. Can't say she'll teach you a ton of techniques though.
Yggjrasil Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 idk Sten, Im able to charge Sonic Booms way faster thanks to what Ive learned with May. :o
smooshman Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 lol im pretty sure I could learn Johnny, I mean how could I not when there's like 10 Johnny players in norcal and they ALL PLAY ALIKE D:< the hardest part of Johnny, imo, is combos and setups. They're not very universal, they're very dependant on distance (more so than alot of characters) they require strict timing, and then you have to set them up..... coins, mist, enkasu uses, while not hard, are irritating to do. but other than that he's not that difficult (atleast on the offense game).
TD Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 May is not easy!? lol hrmm l still think ABA is one of the easiest. lnsane priority, insane damage, insanely easy combos... She hardly even needs FRC's (in casual play). People with a small knowledge of the game can pick her right up imo.

She's easy if your opponent doesnt rush you the fuck down. :/ otherwise she's a glass cannon. Not only that, Moroha Mode is a double-edged sword, 3 knockdowns and you're dead. Unless you're hella good with Herp-a-derp rushdown and poke zoning, A.B.A's not really easy, but of course she's loads of fun to play and after doing one combo with her,you can look at your opponent's face and say "OMG LOOK AT THE DAMAGE!"
smooshman Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 hardest part of playing johnny is footsies oh right, I just remember going to training and spending forever on combos...... now I remember standing there in actual trying to figure out what I should be doing at that moment.

TD Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Okay? And why do you say that? (The cursing wasn't necessary btw.)
qwerty Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 aba is anything but easy. in all honesty, she is probably the single hardest character to use in the game; one mistake and you're done. at least, that's my reasoning behind her being the (seemingly) least used character in japan.
TD Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 In terms of defense yes you are right. But offense wise she's really good (also l said casual play where they don't beast on you mercilessly lol) and very easy. Of course this is solely my opinion, but yeah that's what l think. But then again, anyone will say their mains are easy ( except I-No players T_T LOL)
qwerty Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 nah, i think even most i-no players will admit to their OMG IMPOSSIBLE combos not being all that hard (assuming, of course, you have the execution to do your own character's advanced stuff).
Jais Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Question at hand is easy to use and the question is not easy to win with, yes? Bridget
TD Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Once you get used to the unorothodox style bridget has (Not using hs to attack and using s for everything is a bit confusing o new players.), he's pretty easy. Fun too tbqh. But uhh... yeah good luck winning o.0 Youre either a pro or a minor threat... that's what l think about Bridget. l do love his tricks though.
SSMugen Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Question at hand is easy to use and the question is not easy to win with, yes? Bridget Actually, I'd say Anji fits that role pretty well but I can see where you got bridget from
Jais Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 Shhiii lol Anji might even be easier than Bridget, he has no crouching only or standing only hit confirms....
STenSatsu Posted July 9, 2010 Posted July 9, 2010 I'd still say May is easier to learn and win with than either of them. Coming from a May/Anji player. May/Slayer/Test/Jam are probably who I'd recommend for somebody who wants to play a strong character that is easy to pick up.
TD Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 l think Testament is also a great pick for beginners. Not to mention, every friend l played with mained or subbed him, t'was ridiculous. -_-
