(i can't imagine this being wrong, but anyways.) um, make sure you set the mode to "controller" for both characters. (but i assume that's what you already did??)

I tried calculating it by taking the move's original SD and then adding the difference of the move's total frames minus the frame(s) the move is FRCable on, but that seems kinda like a lot of + on block, which im sure an FRC is. Anyone confirm? Edit: Or like active and recovery frames or something
EclipsingBinary Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 For attacks that have FRCs during or after the active frames, calculate how many frames are between the FRC point and the end of the move. Add this to the SD. Yeah, in most cases, it should be a lot. Keep in mind that the frame data includes frame zero under attack start-up, the frame on which you input the command. This is not an actual frame of animation. So add up start-up + active + recovery, then subtract one to figure out the total duration of the move. For attacks that have FRCs before the active frames, there is no SD to calculate.

The hardest adjustment so far has been...... The Digital Pad I know it sounds stupid but either my fingers are too big or this is going to be a month-long affair of training my fingers to do a simple jump forward. I've tried an Arcade Stick, this is easier for me but not by much.... Any tips on how to use the digital pad effectively? Finger Positions, Short Cuts, anything? It's incredibly frustrating not be able to pull off the simplest of combos because my thumb keeps going 267P instead of 236P..... I'm a newb; laugh if you must....
rtl42 Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 go into training mode, turn on the input bar, and just practice practice practice. if you're having trouble with 236 motions, try to identify 2 and 6, separately, then do a slow 236 motion and watch the input bar. like: hit 2 -> watch the input bar, make sure you didn't hit other direction -> hit 6, make sure... -> do a slow 2-3-6, make sure... then do it some more. changing from one controller type to another always takes some adjusting (if you've never used the other before), so don't get frustrated if you can't master the D-pad right away.

Kjorteo Posted June 21, 2008 Posted June 21, 2008 I once saw a YouTube video where someone was having way too much fun with that particular glitch (or whatever it is.) It was a combo video, but they stopped with the normal combos to have a strange section in the middle where things like that would happen...and if I'm remembering correctly, the end result is that the animation plays and everything, the character is blown off the screen if appropriate, and then the attacker just randomly falls over dead once it's done. It's...quite interesting to see. I wish I remembered where that video was.

Kryian Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 A meaty is used to describe a move you throw out while someone is waking up from being knocked down where they get up in to the active hit frames, so that they can not do anything other than block or do a reversal shoryu, backdash, etc. Pretty much any move can be a meaty, but a great example would be Pot's 6HS. It has a ton of active hit frames, so it's not hard to throw it out while someone is getting up off the ground so that they MUST block it (or do something with invincibility frames).

You mean the extra menu in training mode? You have to beat all the missions in mission mode. There 30 of them. The last 5 unlock after you beat the first 25. It lets you add all the crazy buffs you get in survival mode like more attack and chaos roman cancels and more.

I own a Wii Hori stick and I primarily use that control set-up - I was just wondering if there were any gameplay changes or anything.
