GofG Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Recent GG convert (over from melee). I cannot for the life of me figure out the costume system. I understand Punch for the default costume, but how come its different for player 2? Where can I go to get a better understanding? lol
Silmerion Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Recent GG convert (over from melee). I cannot for the life of me figure out the costume system. I understand Punch for the default costume, but how come its different for player 2? Where can I go to get a better understanding? lolUmm...it's not different, unless both players pick the same character, in which the second person to pick the same costume gets assigned a different one manually to avoid confusion. Incidentally, pressing Taunt (R2 by default) switches between color sets.
Abominable K Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 Select also works for color switching. Useful if you delete the Respect button.
freelander Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 can you cancel special cancellable ground normals into TK specials?
Silmerion Posted September 21, 2008 Posted September 21, 2008 can you cancel special cancellable ground normals into TK specials?Yes, but it's not a special cancel so much as it's a jump cancel. Thus, you can only do it off of JCable normals.
ansem Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 What does it mean when a character is broken.? ex: Slayer
Prototype Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I know this isnt the best place but, I dont suppose there is a n00b thread or intro thread around here is there?
Blade Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 What does it mean when a character is broken.? ex: Slayer Loops, infinites, unblockables, frame advantage, priority...basically no matter what you do, you can't win against this or that character.
purify Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 What does it mean when a character is broken.? ex: Slayer Something "broken" means that whatever character/system mechanic/glitch it is "breaks" the game, making it unplayable. If you hear that in reference to something in late GG games, it's more used like "boo hoo this character is good". Something actually broken would be like the Gambit glitch, Rei infinite DP (arguably several things in that game), Rainbow Edition in general, sometimes the top tier in SNK games...
4r5 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I know this isnt the best place but, I dont suppose there is a n00b thread or intro thread around here is there? nah but there are a few in disguise
rtl42 Posted October 4, 2008 Posted October 4, 2008 I know this isnt the best place but, I dont suppose there is a n00b thread or intro thread around here is there? why do you ask, are you just looking to post up and say "hi"? or are you looking for basic introductory material?

Silmerion Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 in chipps command list there is a special move listed as "ariel R" what is R?R = Respect I'm pretty sure that's his shuriken command pre-AC.
Blade Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I'm gonna throw this out there for anyone who cares/doesn't care or knows... Does anyone know if there was ever a listing for GGX/GGX+ Robo-Ky's GG Mode Frame Information? Or at the very least an XX version of the info? I just need frame data and such for Mugen so that I have something to work with. I'm a persistent little bugger aren't I?
KD Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 There's info in the GGX Plus official guide. I'll try and get some pictures for you. I don't have the guide for the console versions of XX though.
KD Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Here you go Blade. Tried my best to get the info without screwing up the book. Robot/Robo Ky main pages from GGX Plus guide Frame data for Ky, EX Ky, and GG/Robot Ky.
Blade Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Now I just need somebody to help interpret the data and then I can work with that based on the moves I was working on. (Things like active frames for Ray Divider, etc...) Thanks KD!
KD Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 You're welcome Blade. You wouldn't happen to know if they are coming out for a complete guide for GGXX AC+ do you? I've been checking import sites and japanese stores and I haven't seen anything.
Blade Posted October 10, 2008 Posted October 10, 2008 'Fraid I don't...also check your Inbox for a PM I sent you a while ago about "blurry parts".

omski Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 who would you guys say is the most commonly played character in guilty gear in america? in japan ?
Silmerion Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 who would you guys say is the most commonly played character in guilty gear in america? in japan ?Well, that's hard to answer, but I can say this: 1) It's regional. My understanding is there's a part of California that's just full of May players, for example. 2) It's much easier to talk about which characters don't get a lot of representation (In America, in no particular order: Axl, I-No, Zappa, Baiken, Bridget, others?)
