Tired of going to the break only for nobody to dare go near the BBCS machine? Well so are quite a few people, myself included. After much deliberation it was decided that a tournament should be run here. Interested in it? Then start reading to find out where, when, and how it's gonna go down. So far the plans for the tournament are to do singles, double elimination style, on a bi-weekly basis. For our next tournament at 8 on the break arcade, we'll be holding it on the 22nd of August. Starting time will be 2:30 pm. Forget the cabinet, we have consoles now. There will be a minimum of one PS3 to run the tournament on (mine) and two sticks for it. If you wish to use your own stick or bring a pad, I advise you to bring it. If you wish to bring a setup to speed up the tournament please make sure to have all the characters unlocked. Unlockable and DLC characters are allowed obviously. Plans are so far for a 5 dollar entry fee for the tournament. The entry fee will go towards the pot with 1st place taking 70%, 2nd taking 20%, and 3rd taking 10% of the pot. Now as for the location, obviously as stated earlier this tournament is going to be held at 8 on the break arcade, which is located at 346 North Avenue, Dunellen New Jersey. For those of you coming from New York City, and would like to take the train. Simply take NJ Transit to Dunellen station from New York Penn Station, you'll have to make a transfer at Newark Penn Station. the Arcade is literally right across the street from the train station. If you're heading towards the municipal building from the train station you're heading the right way. There is no excuse for anyone not to come to this besides early start time or living mad far. So get hype New Jersey!

Starting time will be 2:30 pm. The nice thing about this is that the owner will be setting the machine to event mode. That means no paying each time to play your matches and no having to kill the winners character to let the new player pick his/hers, saving us alot more time to play matches. Plans are so far for a 5 dollar entry fee for the tournament, and since the owner isn't doing this out of charity, we're gonna have to pay a venue fee. The entry fee will go towards the pot with 1st place taking 70%, 2nd taking 20%, and 3rd taking 10% of the pot. To keep the venue fee down a bit and for times sake I'll try to limit the tournament to 24 players (The limit can and will change depending on how hype this gets) and set the venue fee at 3 dollars a person. I have no problem changing the date, its just that the place is in DIRE need of a tournament, and I don't want to seem like the person who said he was gonna do one a month ago there but never ended up doing shit. I figure this weekend is too early, but if people post saying they can make it this weekend I'll definitely do it then. If not I'll just have to shift it to like May 29th since ECT is on the 22nd.

Is this going down Sat then? well so far only you, me, and ril would be going. So unless more people decide to go I doubt it. Unless like 8 more people say they can go by tomorrow, I'll be moving it to the 29th. EDIT: changed the date to may 30th since there's really nobody who can make it. Alright guys end of the month break tournament get hype for this.

Achtzehn Posted May 26, 2010 Author Posted May 26, 2010 I have a feeling the first tournaments turnout is gonna be pretty dismal, but that won't discourage me... plus if no good players show up its like free money for me:v:... Albeit a small amount. Hopefully the tournament will be more hype next time (still who knows, maybe alot of break goers will show up for it and it'll actually be pretty good). EDIT: Oh yeah, when I ran the flyers by the owner about the tournament he told me to scratch the venue fee completely. Looks like he might be doing this out of charity afterall , though still be prepared in case he wants us to pay afterwards per game we played (somehow I doubt it, it seems that his mindset is that if the machine in event mode is set to free play and its illegal to take money from the players there's nothing he can do about it). So event mode with only fee being towards the pot, sounds like an awesome deal no matter how you look at it.

mAc Chaos Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I was totally gonna come to this but ended up getting swamped by Memorial Day stuff. FFFFFFFF You guys have the closest CS cabinet. Only thing is I never played CS and am still learning stick so I'd need to come in there and just mess around a bunch to figure out how to play, not enter a tournament.

mAc Chaos Posted June 2, 2010 Posted June 2, 2010 I heard that move wasn't that good, so it probably won't get used once people learn to deal with it. Like how everyone spammed ice car at first. Ah, OK. I figured this time around everyone would be playing the tournament all day, so I'd just wash out in the first round then spend the entire day watching everyone play. Which I would actually be fine with but I also had my friends back home wanting to hang out so I decided I'd come down another time.
