God_Of_Olympus Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 wouldn't he be able to punish you for doing 2c, if it's slow enough to 2c on reaction then obviously there are better options
Alex073088 Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 wouldn't he be able to punish you for doing 2c, if it's slow enough to 2c on reaction then obviously there are better options rachels normals are very slow and lack range, so taking the risk might not be worth it.
God_Of_Olympus Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 2c'ing his ice is stupid though, why not just retreat and throw some lobelias or back dash
Alex073088 Posted May 16, 2010 Author Posted May 16, 2010 2c'ing his ice is stupid though, why not just retreat and throw some lobelias or back dash Oh the senario was in the corner sorry, in the vid, you cant retreat because it will catch your jump, also, the rachel backdash and ate 3.6k damage into a corner knockdown for it. its in the vid =) and it was of my new rachel hero uate getting butt f*cked!
sanshiki Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Jin's game becomes exceedingly strong in the game where his abare from 6c loops can net 2x more damage than his bnbs midscreen, or abuse 236D/6D guard primer mash. Therefore a good Jin that wants to abuse that will move towards options that will bring you there. Take a scrubby example like: You knock down Jin in the corner. He roll techs out and has at least 25% heat. He is likely to use 623D to try sucker punch you into a big combo. Once you've played enough Jins like that, you can even the field by always being on the side where he has to deal with bad damage bnbs and actually have to work twice as hard to get you to the corner. After getting past this, alot of specific matchup information comes into play. Watch out for 2D antiairing your midair lobelia summon. He has to predict it so don't make it too easy for him to get into the right range. Punish ice projectiles with reaction j.236B. Mostly anything else is commonsense. I've got some tricks here. 5C 2D, 5C frame trap can be beaten by IBing 2D and using 5BD to punish 5C's range. eg. 5BD counterhit 3D j.B j.C 5B 3C. In fact I'm starting to use this recently since I was annoyed how I never did have range and was stuck with bucketfuls of wind meter while under pressure. After you've done it once or twice Jin will think twice before using the same old mixup again. This also works against max range Jin's 6D. Don't overuse 2C it tends to clash at the ranges Jin likes to throw his pokes. Backdashing against Jin is also a bad move. His moves have meaty frames throughout. Either decide if you want to hit him, gtfo via jumping, or block. I find that people tend to treat Jin like a nerfed version of Ragna. Don't. Respect his large attack range and be more aware of what he can or cannot do at any point.
Nhur Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I am a very good player but here some of my best tips in this mach up!. Long range: -Punish his Hadukens with an Airdash over his ice blade ith wind. From that pressure or combo. this will make him afraid of break your zoning with ice blades. -Now you should plant some lobelias at max range out of the range of his 2D, in ground B lobelia +D or C lobelia + 3D but try to keep one wind for punish his hadous. If you make too many jump comands maybe he will go under your lobelias and try to cach his 6C or 5C Jump lobelias work nice, If you make air lobelias is a nice idea got a post near to you (j.lobelia C) for stop his rushdowns. If you make this and throw some pumpkims/frogs you will got a nice zoning over jin. Just try to zone at max range and only try to go to him with some cover of /frog/pumkim/ IAD+Wind stay alert agaist is "ice cars D" and punish him later of block it. He can try to get you with a counter hadou this links into a combo with his 2D ----------------------------- Close range. His pressures are very poor, stay confident in your reflexes, guard always dont try to punish weird things, you will got some extra wind for punish his pressure strings. His options: -Overhead: very poor range and slow, they usually try it later of an jump combo ended with you character iced. If you block it its only cancelable with specials, (they probalby will do, srk/icecar/Smash-C) in blocksting whey usually make a short dash before try to do it. in this case just make a back dash, you will get out of any trouble, and if him try to make a grab you will evade it -His low pokes are, 2B, with sort range and 3C, 3C is very easy to punish on block. -Grab. Just try to repel it, it usually comes very easy to read. j.B for try to go again close to you, the best jins dont make this blockstring, if you dont got reflexes for punish it with 6A just make 5B-"A"lobelia/frog/pumpkim and presure him. Cat chair is a good option too!!! -6D for break your guard premiers, very easy to read, if he is close just make 5A>combo if he is more far away punish him with 5B wind CDC (try to use vaery soon the wind for ge close to him. ---------------------------------- His SRK mixups. Are to many jins that spam srks again and again, is little hard to aproach him, only try to punish him if he mises his srk and you are in ground, I need try if 3C can beat his A/B srks... just be patient and calculate the timimng for aproach him. Try to analice jins on his wakeups if he makes one or two srks on wakeups per round, he will probably will do if you are near to finish the round and both of you are with low life. when he end his combos just defend they will probably try to make resests with his D srk. punish him with IAD>combo. ----------------------------- At the first of the mach: If jin player know how play agaist rachel they can punish you easyly at the begining of the mach. If you make A lobelia he can make 66 3C>combo on you. if you jump back and trwo something they can jump and try to combo. I usually try to defend at the begining or jump foward and make j.A/j.B (im in the work and I have to leave the computer, i will try to keep posting later, sorry for the grammar fails, I dont have time now to read it and fix this problems. sorry) I will try to post more here for make more crowded Rachel subforums
Alex073088 Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 jins overhead is the fastest in the game being nineteen frames. and i have never seen the move canceled on block at all.it has always been a free punish for me. he also has some of the best throw mixups in te game.
Nhur Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 oh really?, sorry for the wrong info, I though that Jin overhead was very slow, I usually dont got too many problems for block it, and about cancels... damm it I think that you are right on black can not be canceled, Sorry again. Could you tell me some of this mixups with throws? The jin players that I have found on psnetwork dont make too many mixups with throws they only make some regular mixups like, 2A throw, 5B throw, some throw resets on combos... or for example throw>throw>throw x n XD. I forgot talk about his option for try to crossup and freeze with j.D I think that its very important talk about our recoverys when they end his midscreen combos, particularly wich we recover in air, please dont try to hit jin with a lobelia or throw some pumpkim they usualy try to cach us with his 2D, 2C or srk, in the last two options are some of the best damage jin combo starters
