I'm trying to get my TE and SE to work with this game. So far, I have only managed to get the buttons configured, but I cannot get the joystick to work. So I'm playing half on keyboard and half on stick, lol.

Go into the game controller settings window (the Windows/<insert OS here> one - something like Control Panel -> Game Controllers -> *right click controller in list* settings) and take a look at how the directional inputs register. WanWan is made in 2D Fighter Maker 2nd and, unfortunately, it will only respect axes for directional movement - it automatically assumes you want to use the X and Y analog axes for directional input, and doesn't let you change it. If your stick registers as buttons or a "hat", it won't work because 2DFM2nd doesn't look for it.

(protip: "axes" is the plural of "axis")

I don't know how TEs and SEs are set up, but my HRAP3 has a little switch that changes the stick between buttons (dpad) and axes (the left/right analog sticks) - setting it as the left analog stick works for 2DFM2nd games, whereas the buttons don't.

If you don't have such an option, then unfortunately you're going to have to either get another stick that does, or use a silly hack solution such as Joy2Key to translate your stick movement to keyboard keys for movement (warning - may induce input lag).

On a somewhat unrelated note, I probably should play this game more often, but my HRAP3's wire is kinda fucked up and I need to fix it. :sweatdrop:

TEs have that same switch that switch it from LS>DP>RS you need to make sure it's set to LS for it to work.

Did a Friede Combovid, with some practical things, situational things, gimmicky things, and completely impractical but potentially cool things in it. It's day 1 so nothing optimised yet, probably, but if someone wants to play the char and is lost, they should probably look it over. Or hell, just look it over anyway, might have stuff you didn't know. There's a lot still missing from it, but good enough for day 1 labwork.

Been checking this out the last couple days. PS3 stick is fucked up again, so I'm stuck using joy2key to make my 360 stick work with the game until I get that fixed. >__>

Some observations on Lunathia:

  • Gains meter a fair bit faster now. Not sure if it's just her or everyone.
  • Most of her combos from 0.5 still work. Typical BnB I use is a bit tighter (possibly floating the opponent a bit higher?), but still feasible.
  • I'll need to do more testing before anything conclusive, but it looks like her infinite might be gone. Feels like there's a bit more time between entering a jump or airdash and being able to attack in the air - this might be joy2key, though.
  • Possible damage buff? It's easier to fullkill Aiwhen compared to what I did in my 0.5 CV. Then again, it's also possible Aiwhen got an HP nerf (but that would be silly).
  • CH antiair 2H still rocks.
  • Disaster (puddle, 214H) feels like it sticks around a bit longer.
  • Hell's Rain disappears if Lunathia gets hit (it wasn't like this before, was it?)

The AI in this version is a fucking beast (hard mode).

This, quite a lot. They actually do some tricky stuff - it feels like I'm actually being mixed up by the fucking computer. :vbang:

Boss

Lynia

was rather fun, especially.

Also, CPU Duna is a whore.

They stopped coming out when she got hit, but any of them that were out already when she got hit continued to travel like normal.

Anyone still play this at all?

A friend and I just started to pick this game up for the hell of it and it is incredibly fun.

Started out playing Ryuza but I've been testing out other characters since he seems a little basic.

New version .62 released. Downloading now...

Wow, I haven't played this game nearly enough recently. Just checked out the latest version myself.

Lunathia got two new moves: 4S ("Phantom Whip"), which is a short-range but quick swipe (whose placement can be changed with O), and 236HS ("Coffin Blood"), a combo ender move (whose placement can also be changed with O).

That said, at some point they nerfed her jHS, since it now doesn't recover until landing. Dammit. Also I had to tweak around some combos; it feels like they messed with juggles a bit - not sure if it's for everyone or just Lunathia though.

Going by the game author's blog, Cielo also got a 4S, and Friede got a charge 4, 6S which creates a black hole halfway across the screen for some reason. :v:

Downloaded, thanks for the heads up!

Is there a change log anywhere? I wanna know if Duna was changed at all >_>

EDIT

Nevermind, seems to have been a fairly minor patch.

Are any of you WanWan fools planning on going to NEC? I'd love to be able to place against some good players! ^__^

i'm looking into a lot of the changes myself and the main change to Duna that i see is that hcb+S no longer links into 5P in the corner, however 2P still links so it doesn't break anything

otherwise all of her "old" stuff still works as far as i can tell, though I think her f.S and 2S may have been slowed down marginally just by feel

fullscreen j.236P still combos into O and ground 236P

ground 236P still links into 236236P both in the air and on the ground

shorter air combos into j.H 214K land 623S BRK hcb+S still work

optimal BRK confirm is still ...2H 214H (delayed BRK) 214K set O > j.S activate O > land 66 5H slow tk 236P > 66 2S 5H tk 236P > 66 5H > 214H/hcb+S

optimal meterless corner combo is still ...5H hcb+S > 2P 5H 623K j.H j.214K > land 5H tk 236P > land 66 2S 5H tk 236P > 66 5H > 214H/hcb+S

for cielo the midscreen combo doesn't work so currently i'm using the more stable and much easier combo:

...2H 214H (delayed or regular BRK) 66 5H 623K j.H j.214K > land 66 5H tk 236P > land 66 2S 5H tk 236P > 66 5H 214H/hcb+S

that should give you plenty of stuff to practice if ur interested in doing so

nice video, i think that would be useful for someone who hasn't played lunathia before

couple things though, i don't think you mentioned that her airdash cancels change stance and how useful her 4S is for hitting people outside of her regular stance range cuz of where it comes out

also i would not ever do an abbreviated combo into 2H, it doesn't offer much initiative that ending with coffin or hells rain doesn't already while doing more damage

guys who are gonna be going to NEC should PM me your cell #, we should get together and play at some point :3

Yea xD I meant to do a part on her ADCs, I told myself to cover that so many times and still forgot.

Also, you're right on the 2HS part, I don't use that combo much myself, but I'd already recorded it and just decided to put it in.

And for 4S, I never really thought to use it like that, thanks.

I plan on heading to NEC, I'll pass on my number when I get a new phone.
