Soothesayer Posted July 18, 2010 Posted July 18, 2010 I remember seeing this game previewed a while back, but it's been years since I last heard about it. For those who don't know, it's supposedly a freeware fighter that uses a crapload of characters(probably not licensed lol) from different video games. The main site is in Spanish so I can't give the exact details but here's a link Main Site They had a few test matches up. MegamanX(Megaman) vs KOS-MOS(Xenosaga) Cloud(Final Fantasy 7) vs Link(Legend of Zelda) Etna(Disgaea) vs Crono(Chrono Trigger) Green Card support system, they're basically assist characters. Here My thoughts: I highly doubt this will come to light as a finished product anytime in the future, and it seems like they're trying to do waaay too much. Balance? Lol. HOWEVER, I must say that it looks quite fluid in action and even sort of fun. Seems like it could be fun to play, you know, for fun. Reminds me of Smash + MvC2 which sounds like a recipe for pure disaster but here it looks a bit appealing. Another thing that turns me off a bit is that the engine is supposed to be based off MUGEN, which is ehhhhh.
MouseWonder Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Looks interesting to at least mess around with if its free. If it is based off MUGEN that's a big negative, but I like how the sprites all look like they go together and aren't just a bunch of random shit thrown together. I found this and it's not that hard to look at trailers by just dicking around from there. But I assume these are the characters they have planned for right now. Current Characters *EDIT* That video is dated and I meant to say that it seems like the best place to see the main characters compared to the Spanish site.
2nd_God Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Hmm.. I like the sprites, they look really nice. Someone put some effort into detailing them, that's apparent. Fighting seems kind of slow as is, however. Also, beside from clanging effects, I really can't see anything that sets it firm in the genre of 'fighting game'. It looks mour like a beat-em up from the way the characters have to approach the other and place damage into its corresponding collision box. No grabs or anything.. :*( ...let's go play streets of rage. It's mugen engine though.. maybe it's still young yet.
superscience890 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Ahh, I remember first seeing this... what feels like to be 4 years ago >_> Though I have to say, looking at the way it is right now, it still looks pretty awesome ^^ I like how the maker of he game is actually making the character sprites rather than just borrowing them from already made games :D I do have to wonder though... When will it ever be released as a demo D: Well, at least he's still working on it ^^
SolxBaiken Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 That's weird... This game STILL looks hype :3 I'm glad they're still working on it and the final product should be something indeed
Starlight777 Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Me too. Even more sad is that its a game where I could play as CRONO and it will never come out. Why is it that such brilliant and beautiful things never see the light of day?
Aureliano Posted December 25, 2010 Posted December 25, 2010 They used to say they would release a demo with four playable characters. But their most recent videos show characters (Etna, Crono and Soma) that aren't part of this big four. So I guess they've given up on this demo.
