  1. I'd like some advice on landing dash 5B after air blood scythe. It always seem such a long shot and I never got it to land. What are some common junctures where I could have gone wrong ?
  2. Definitely needs more frames of animation before this looks like anything but ass, but the sprites are okay. Intrigued by cooldowns applied to special moves, but it might be too gimmicky in the end.
  3. Wasnt it supposed to punish people from playing passive and sitting on a lead since opening them up is impossible ? Cause that's pretty much what you should do at all times and it's pretty boring. getting back from a 10% gap really feels impossible at 30 seconds on the timer if the other player plays patiently, and that really blows. Declaring a spellcard doesnt really help since the opponent can deny them, and most of them are unsafe (and you're punished for not using it, so if you don't see an opening you're forced to use it raw).
  4. Fuck yes Aerosmith I was losing hope that the other parts might have as much representation as part 3. But there is a distinct lack of villains.
  5. The popularity mechanic is stupid in a lot of ways (and doesnt do what it should be doing anyway) but it wouldn't be half as bad without that first hit bonus. Seriously what the hell ?
  6. Pushblock makes it so that keeping a constant blockstring isn't really a thing in this game, at least not at this level. Your best bet is to keep a steady offense to keep your ennemy's max spirit low. I just can't find any damage for Miko at all. It seems one loop of her 5AAA string with limit and 2k damage is my limit so far. Really sucks.
  7. Anything for Miko ? All I got is some basic 5C cancel stuff, mainly 5AAA > 2B > 5C > 3 > 5AAA > 8B > downward pillar It's just around 1k8 tho. Spellcard can make it 4k4 in the corner.
  8. Yeah I agree UMvC3 is so slow with all those character inserts during supers.
  9. Anybody that still uses Play-asia deserves to be ripped off.
  10. Is the game still a turtlefest where getting to 100% approval is a death sentence because you'll not land your last word and get the penalty ?
  11. Yeah I also remember how people coulnd't stop bitching about SF4 while still playing it. ST x TK was at evo that year purely thanks to its publisher's status while most sources were either criticizing the design direction and economic model of the game, or doing damage control "its not that bad guys". Yet people never really stopped playing it, and when the 2013 patched rolled around they could finally stand up and yell "eyh guys our game doesnt such as much anymore". Exactly like SF4. If you think games that aren't capcom are given even a quarter of this amount of attention/devotion, you are blind. In most hobbies most people don't judge games based on their individual merits, herd mentality just flocks to the biggest name around.
  12. Or maybe the mlp fandom is interested in mlp material, not new fighting games IP.
  13. They look like gen 5 pokemons. Not necessarily a bad thing, as the designs look pretty sleek and more detailed than those in MLP. Plus there's room for quite a bit of style. It looks like bronies haven't taken Lab Zero's hook, and donations havent picked up, still going at the same tranquil rate. I don't think they'll get the license for free.
  14. Yes that is the reason people where playing ST x TK day one and streaming it in big tournaments, because they tought the system was good, nothing to do with brand recognition. You'd have to wear pretty thick rose-tinted glasses to argue that the "maker" softwares (rpg, fighting, game) are absolutely fine for most purposes. They are tools for people that don't want to get through the pain of coding their own engine, and as such they are... functional, but it's still a crutch, and in a perfect world where you can have infinite development time, you wouldn't use that kind of stuff.
