Edge Reaper Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 Boombox and Oso brought controllers... pretty sure Kush never played before the meetup What I meant was, everyone else could play on stick, though Oso is weird and plays on the 360 pad...
TransientFaith Posted September 11, 2011 Posted September 11, 2011 I have faith in you, you could do it if you tried!
Qpunch Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 Hey do any of you guys have tips on using charge characters? I can't seem to charge mid-combo properly.
TransientFaith Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I don't play charge or claim to know what I'm talking about, but can't you buffer the charge motion during the middle of an attack (or attack string if applicable)? Then its just a matter of learning the audio/visual cues and timing
Mightfo Posted September 12, 2011 Author Posted September 12, 2011 disgaea 4 and cladunx2 are funnnn cladunx2 is $20 isometric action rpg on the psp, very fun, the level designs get pretty fun, and it's pretty addictive, and since it's 8-bit you can customize your characters' faces and weapons and stuff. Hey do any of you guys have tips on using charge characters? I can't seem to charge mid-combo properly. Any specific game? Just be quick on snapping back to 4/1 or whatever direction you need to charge in. After you start a jump, immediately go back to charging. If you can do an attack as 4<button> instead of 5<button>, then do it. just try to return to those locations as much as possible. Also, some games have little tricks..like in CVS2 IIRC you can only roll forward, so you can charge while rolling. In KOF13, when you start dashing, you can hold 3 to continue dashing, so you can charge DPS while dashing. I've never mained a charge characters, so i dont have much else to say.
Qpunch Posted September 12, 2011 Posted September 12, 2011 I was playing Vampire saviour and decided to use jedah and bb hood. @MightFo Yes disgaea is awesome
KUSHxCOMMANDO Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 best tip for charge char get used to olding down back immediately after u do anything. and hold it as much as u can. buffering. charging while doing another move. like u can be holding down back while doing low med heavy punch string and after the low h punch connects press forward and punch for sonic boom. partioning. spreading out the charge. like hold down for like 3/4 sec dash forward holding down as soon as dash animations starts then then press up and kick for flash kick as soon as dash ends try some may dolphin loops. i think they still had those on slash
Qpunch Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Thanks man. I don't think i'll use may though.
Ronin Jinobi Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Do any of y'all Play garou or last blade? haiiiiii~
Mr EckZ Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2011/sep/13/pandora-trailer-street-fighter-x-tekken/ Not quite what I was expecting it to be :/ but online training and 2v2 is gonna be sick
Qpunch Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Oh wow, Rolento and Ibuki in the same game? Now i'm hyped!!! Pandora seems kinda strange though.
Mightfo Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 Lupinko said SF X Tekken will have more characters than UMVC3. AKA more than 50. They've only shown 26 so far. Online training mode is cool. Being able to play "real" 2v2 as in, when you tag out another player is playing on your team, is cool. Scramble mode will be fun for silly brawl-esque nonsense and maybe getting used to cross assault. We'll see. Regarding pandora: Pandora might be interesting depending on the risk reward factor of it, because if the buff is dependent on how much health the character had when they are sacrificed (ie; High health = long/good buff, and next to no health = almost non existant buff) then it might actually have some strategic use due to needing to sacrifice half of your team/health for it to be worth it, but if it does the same buff no matter what then that just means that you activate it every time a character is right next to death just so you can have a buff effectively making it a brain dead mechanic. tl;dr: We don't know enough to say if it adds or removes depth from the game yet. But yeah. I also think it is meant to give players a way to start learning with just one character so that entry is easier. I'm pretty much just worried about 1)Cross assault being broken 2)unblockables dominating mixup/meter use 3)capcom being capcom and doing dumb shit with characters Otherwise, I like the cast and it's more my type of game than other capcom fighters, so i'm cautiously hype.
Mightfo Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 also the pandora story thing is hilariously generic
Mightfo Posted September 14, 2011 Author Posted September 14, 2011 also rolento walking jab pressure/combos confirmed for sf x tekken
Mr EckZ Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Lol yeah I think I saw that jab pressure. I'm hyped ibuki/raven and heihachi/akuma (if he makes it) hell I'm just hyped for the whole game. Me and Oso are going to body everyone in 2v2s muahahahaha
Qpunch Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 I hope this 2v2 is like sfa anthology dramatic battle

Kohatsu EX Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 This truly is an exciting time for fighting games. I might pick up Ultimate Marvel 3 just for S&G's, but will totally be prepared to take SFXT a lot more serious. Also I'm happy I've added some of you guys to my friends list on PSN. I totally feel like getting bodied in TSO again real soon. Any takers for this Friday or Saturday?
