MY BODY IS READY FOR KOF13, should arrive soon today, i'll have both 360 and ps3 versions. if someone wants to play me online, just tell me, ill haev tons of time today and tomorrow and maybe thursday.

So, yeah, that does a great job at explaining how shorthops and rolls work with the game.

Another thing you should be aware of is basic comboability. In early rounds, you dont have any meter so combos are generally normal->command normal->special, or crouching light kick->crouching light punch->special, or whatever other chains your character has.

Eventually you have more meter and you can do stuff like EX special into some sort of link, and there are some meterless corner loops.

I'm sure most of you have seen those crazy videos with 100% combos which use 5 bars and hyperdrive. Those are useful, but you can get 50% combos out of just 1 bar and 1 drive cancel, so you dont have to do the crazy stuff, you can do smaller, efficient combos. EX moves are of course useful as well, so saving up your meter too much can hurt your options.

Here's how meter normally works, btw: You have your super meter and your hyperdrive meter. (Bars=super meter, stocks=hyperdrive)

EX moves and supers cost 1 bar each. Supers usually dont have invuln. Dont think of normals supers like supers in BB/GG in terms of invincibility, they usually dont have much. EX supers usually do, though. Those cost 2 bars. Neomaxes cost 3 bars and do an assload of damage.

Drive cancelling lets you cancel specials into other specials on hit. It costs half the hyperdrive bar. So you can do like kensou's DPkick and cancel into his dive and do another DP.

You can enter hyperdrive mode by hitting Light kick+Heavy punch. This lets you cancel specials into others for a period of time, even on block.

Hyperdrive mode also makes all normals special cancellable as well.

Also, you can cancel normals into hyperdrive mode, which makes your character dash. So you can do a ranged poke that normally doesnt combo, hit BC, and then do close range attacks into a large combo.

Also, when you're in hyperdrive mode, neomaxes only cost 2 bars.

oh god this game... I'm feeling all the emotions.

Need to try netplay on a wired connection. The latency on a 2 bar connection made it to where i couldn't block short hops on reaction. lol...

Also, kyo's 3d is so easy to cancel into 236b/d in this game, I'm hitconfirming like a boss.

KOF is here again! I'm looking forward to playing with you guys one day, when I can somehow claim my weekends back. Well, until I get my copy on friday (Payday); I'll just play 3so/skyrim for a bit.

Figure I would say I could grab jet before I head over there. I might be leaving to get over there at 3 or 4. Got some stuff to take care of in the afternoon before I go over there. I have yet to even put my copy of KoF13 in the 360 so I hoping I might have a little bit of a break after dinner with my family to see how the game actually play.

Shoutouts to a great meetup. Played KOF for almost 6 solid hours. I learned a lot and upped my game quite a bit I think. Need to lab more but yeah. Glad to see peeps again. Hopefully my schedule will clear up and I can host more in the future. Untill then see you online.
