Setsuna Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Im wondering what everyone thinks the best tactic against Hazamas are
madaxe_munkee Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Erm, well don't run straight into Orobous. Learn to block his attacks when he pulls himself in, esp when to block low. If you drive spam while he's far away, odds are he'll Orobous you for a free combo.
NoirMorpheus Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 Against Hazama I usually use 5D ALOT. His low attacks will counter 5D but usually they just throw out his standing C and I get a counter. 6A and 3C are good, but I use 3C too much and I get punished for it. I also use 5C alot in this matchup but Hazama has better normals than Noel so it's usually 50/50
Senovit Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 5D actually now has full invincibility, so it will counter lows.
Mizzet Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 A lot of Hazamas have a bad habit of gattling into 214d~a and 214d~c after their blockstrings, 5d and 2d will beat these respectively and give you a nice combo.

Both have nice combos on counter-hit... 2D has smaller proration but 5D has more damage. I have a feeling that 5D is going to be a better choice in both cases however.
Atreides Posted August 20, 2010 Posted August 20, 2010 Doing 5D/2D against their 214D~A/C works until they start doing 214D~B. It beats both drive and combos to 2-3k. Can you punish 214D~B at all? It's -20/-18 for level 1 and 2, but it pushes you back enough that nothing seems to hit.

But it seems outside the range of 5C. Anything slower than 11 frames won't counter-hit. I'll mash it out in training mode later...
Atreides Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Hmm, yeah blocking it at point blank 3c is able to barely hit, but can't combo after it though.
LunaKage Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Hmm, yeah blocking it at point blank 3c is able to barely hit, but can't combo after it though. 3C leads to a combo at any distance, if they are too far away to hit 6C, use this combo: 3C(Max Range) > 22BC > 66 > 5B > 5C > sj.C > j.B > dj.B > dj.C > dj.236C (should do around 3k)
bluecarrot Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I was wondering if anyone knows a way to punish hazama shooting ourobouros down from the air or from halfway across the screen. Specifically when he uses it to dash. While he's whipping through the sky he seems soo punishable but idk
eLPointe Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 (edited) when he is moving through the air and coming in from his chain, you can 6a him before landing to punish for some okay damage, 2.1k-2.5k. and depending on what he is doing, you can simply 5d him and abuse your IFs for 3.5k damage or more. In the air it is best to not try and attack him because he can get a counter hit with his chain and hit you up for 3k or so. What I like to do is right off the start dash in the air to him and throw, every single Hazama online jumps off the start back a little to try and shoot off his chain. Air throw is pretty good against him, but you have to be able to predict or react fast to his jumps. With zoners, I find Noel has a very difficult time dealing with them, so once you get him down, stick to him and don't let him get away, poke him on his wake up for some hit confirms to drive combos. Bait his DD, and punish accordingly. If he is in the corner and does this you can light him up for 5k-6k on counter. Edited December 5, 2010 by eLPointe
