Sorry, I didn't quite understand. That's the Wheel Loop I do when in curse, but you're saying it does not matter what starter I use? Cause some, like 3A -> 3A -> 5CD -> Loop protate heavily.

And by 2C, I imagine that's doing it when they're locked by the D Bug in the corner? This is better than 5Cx2 in the corner?

I'm saying that the reps you specified, are the best in any case, so there isn't a different set of reps that will do more damage in any situation.

2C has slightly more p2 and the same base damage. Logically, you'll get more damage with that instead of 5c, your only issue is incorporating it into a rep.

Hey, I think Arakune looks cool and was looking to mess around with him and see what he's about, but I'm really lost. When I look on the sticky threads and stuff I still do;'t know what to do or if I am doing it right. He seems like a very diff and complex character and as a result I feel v lost. Any advice or tips are very appreciated

Yo I have been playing arukune for like 3 or 4 days now. I best thing for me was to watch the tutorial from the other thread and copy what they did. I was getting the hang of how he felt. Then I started messing with his moves. This is how I first picked him up. I played my friend today and I noticed that you need to learn how arukune moves and how you to space your moves and etc. For more detailed info, I played his tsubaki and Hakumen. I noticed that j.b was pretty good, but on the ground I was clueless what to do...

My best bet is to try and learn his loop carefully not mashing random buttons.

Oh, derp. Sorry, I realise I asked my earlier questions about starters stupidly. What I meant was that which way gets people in the D Bug Loop that results in the most amount of damage at the end? So for example, for some testing, 6A -> 5D (Curse)-> BCD -> Loop -> Does about 7.9k in 116 hits (no supers). At the end of the curse's life. While just a standing 5CD to get them into curse sends them to about 10k+ damage in 88 hits with some curse left to use one more loop then supers. (I used Ragna as my dummy. :psyduck:)

What I'd like to know please is what's the best way to get them into a full damage curse loop from an overhead, a low and normally (i.e, they're not guarding). I hear 2C propotates well, but looking at Skye's videos he posted, 2C apparantly doesn't do much. :P

Thanks again. Sorry, I know those videos will probably give me the answer, but it's like 30 minutes in all, my laptop has a slow connection and it's hard to remember what starter did what. >_<

The highest damage non curse set up into a curse loop would have to be 2c RC > 5d > 6b bug > cd bugs > etc.

That's just my guess. Grab > super > 5D could be it too.

Wait are we assuming that within the first D hit, it will curse them?

I can only think of C > j.D > D > 9j.a > j.a > j.c > D on CH if your on the ground.

i'll throw some ranges and mid curse building combo confirms out for you from the jp wiki. All for mid screen though. Things work a little different in corner.

5D CH > JD > 5D curse (tap 5D) > hjc JC > loops (8600-9300)

5D CH> JD curse> (tap 5CD)> land> 5C bug> 5D bug > loops (10200-10400)

5D CH curse> (tap 6C)> (tap 5D)> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (12480)

5D NH curse> (tap 5BD)> (tap 6C)> 5B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (10600)

6A> 5D curse> (tap 5BD)> (tap 6C)> 5B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (8600)

2A> 5B> 5D curse> (tap 5BD)> (tap 6C)> 5B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (7200)

J6D curse>> (tap 6C)> (tap 5D)> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (8400)

2A> 2C> rc> 5D curse> (tap 6BC)> (tap 5D)> 6B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (7200)

5C> JA> JC> A Dive> 5D curse (tap 6BC)> (tap 5D)> 6B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops(8600)

Gold Burst> 5D curse (tap 6BC)> (tap 5D)> 6B bug> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (7500)

Curious about the 5D CH. How good is 5D for countering your opponent?

Thanks Kousaka for the combos, im going to try them later tonight!!!

KUDOS!!!

5D on Ch is like Rachel's 6B on CH in CT, you have all day to follow up.

Not really a beginner question (might be idk). Im having issues nailing the CD bugs to restart the elevator loop, is there a certain time i should be releasing CD at?

(sorry if this has already been asked)

Wait from 1 to 1.5 seconds after pressing the buttons to release them.

5D CH curse> (tap 6C)> (tap 5D)> 6C bug> 5D bug > loops (12480)

That is so epic against Inferno Dividering Ragna's. Thanks Kousaka. :)

Also, I've noticed that Airthrow/Throw -> D Bug does really nice damage as well. About 10000 at the end of curse. All you have to do is press for the 5D bug when Arakune just closes his mouth (basically, when you cannot see the other person.) With this visual clue, it provides a great mixup during curse, and does great, practical damage. Cause let's face it, you're not going to 5D CH a blocker. I wouldn't do Super though. It propates it quite a bit.

EDIT: Extra note, against some characters, you have to walk into them the tiniest bit when the D Bug sends them down after the throw.

Well, I'm new to Ara, but I'm picking him up rather quickly and can do his 101-hit BnB, though setting it up is a little hard. My problem is his 6A>5D>j.D>5D nonsense tends to be full of holes, and I never know when it's safe to use 6A. Also, I have a hard time using Bugs effectively once people start to block them, I try crossing people up, but this doesn't work in some cases, and I end up losing my curse to their defense.

Lastly, I have a really hard time landing bugs in the corner. D bug almost never works there, and I don't know the timing of using C+D bugs after j2A dive>j2C dive (it's Challenge Mode combo # 8 I think).

Well in general I'm not used to comboing into and out of curse, but with a little more time I can get the hang of it.

5D > j.d will never combo on normal hit.

It's never "safe" to use 6a, you have to condition your opponent into blocking, so you won't get hit out of it.

The dive curse loop is not optimal, focus on continuing the spin loop, it's done no differently in the corner. As for mix ups, go to the video thread and look up the tutorials listed, from there practice and work on new mix ups.

As Skye said, you shouldn't need to do this. The Wheel 5C Loop is the best loop. However, if you're doing this for the challenge, then you do this;

j.2a them at the height of the D Bug's launch, the second it hits, do j.2C and drag your thumb (or whatever kind of claws stick users have) over from the C button to the D button and release. Easy.

j.2A > j.2C~D

Or if you want more style points.

j.2A~D.

You'll fall in front of them, A bug will hit, and D bug will pick up.

Anything that's j.2 in the corner will actually be j.3

Just so you know, in case that's your problem not being able to get bugs to work in the corner.

And Blade, 6A 5D j.D is garbage. I will troll you hard if I hear about you doing this again.

If you're actually hitting with 6A, you better get 5D > IAD j.AA > j.4B > land 5A > 6B > IAD j.D.
