Skye Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 [6a > 2b > 2a] x N Works well for conditioning. 6b is a good standing low. Mix ups are something you need to learn on your own, but those are my best tips.
Blade Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Um...yeah, I figured I'd ask it here: What the heck is this j.4B people talk about? j.B is floaty I know that...there's j.6B.......I'm confused.
CopperDabbit Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Holding 4 while doing an airdash with Arakune causes him to fall to the ground, rather than float upward.
Blade Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 I didn't know about the falling part in his Airdash. I'll have to try it some to understand it more.
Stafy Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 So yeah I haven't really bothered with it since I can get curse fine, but is 5a 6b j.6D just always retarded on Hakumen mid screen? It doesn't seem to hit all the time. Should I do an alternative if I get 5A confirmed?
dobiqwolf Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 I have problem doing dive cancel a second time in combos: NEAR 2C FC > 5A * 1-2> (JA> JC > J2A Dive Cancel > 5D) * 3 the 1st dive cancel will come out but I wont be able to perform more. I got the same problem whenever more than 1 dive cancel have to be performed. What is the trick?
ZONG_one Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Do j.A twice. It gets deeper than that for some chars, but just try it. Who are you trying it on?

ZONG_one Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 that's completely different. FCH 2C > 5A > 8j.A > j.C > j.2A > dive cancel 5D > 9j.A > j.C > j.2A > dive cancel 5D > sj.A > j.C > j.D

ZONG_one Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Yes. And that particular one works on lambda, noel, tsubaki, and mu.
King_Slime Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 So....while I consider myself a competent Arakune player (I give myself an overall B) I have trouble with "resets". I understand in theory what they are, and when they're practical to use, but I don't know the specifics. For example, let's say I land a loop combo with a move that gets heavily prorated. Instead of continuing the combo for crappy damage and wasting my curse, I decide to drop it on purpose and go for a reset. What exactly do I do to reset it while minimizing the chances that they'll escape? I've seen some resets used online and it seems the c bug has to catch the opponent during a ground tech/roll... is this correct? Any tips? I know in the tager reset loop, there's only a 50/50 chance you're getting out of that combo, ether jumping (if he tries using tager buster) or blocking/backdashing (if he goes for atomic collider). Thanks guys
Skye Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I'm gonna assume you're in the corner, since a reset with be best done there, one of my main ways to reset somebody is to do 3b > it catches roll attempts out of the corner and the b bug is a nice meaty. From there you really just want to mix them up until they crack.
ZONG_one Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Arakune's reset game is unneccessary, really. Especially since anything should get you 50% recurse. Reset only if you need to make a comeback/time is an issue with you obtaining the win. If anything, just drop your combo, and mixup with a better starter. It's a reset technically, but it's not because it's not fast. Skye is right, corner is easiest for a reset, and it's easy to get to the corner. But midscreen, just drop it, land, and try some teleport shenanigans with 5C bug for lockdown. From there it's mixup game again.
firesoul1 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I'll be getting a HRAP VLX stick soon. Is there a thread that has tips for comfortable usage? In Regard to button setting, which one is better for kune players A or B type?
Skye Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I find nothing wrong with~ ABC D But then again, I supposedly play sideways.
firesoul1 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Sideways? Like crooked? I agree that type B(eeesss) could be better. I think I'm faster hitting D with my thumb than with-that-finger-whose-name-i-don't-know...
Skye Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I don't use my thumb to play. Index on D, middle on A, ring on B and pinky on C. And I use the same method for GG too, I just move my pinky down to hit D(ust), it's still more comfortable than using my thumb.
firesoul1 Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 Now does that style work for bigger or smaller hands?
Skye Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 If I had to choose, I'd say bigger, my hands are above average in size, and my fingers are broad and sturdy, using my thumbs give me cramps.

Arakune - doesn't matter which layout you use, neither should be favorable over the other. If you're curious, I use B type though.

I see. In that case my fingers are long and skinny. Actually from the tip of my middle finger to where palm-meets-wrist is about 7 inches. Thumb on D it is.

Now on throws and barrier block, do you use the 2 assigned buttons respectively?
ZONG_one Posted October 22, 2010 Posted October 22, 2010 I don't even get what you mean. But I use A+B for barrier, and B+C for throw. Like everyone else, lol. Don't try to OS A+B+C that shit, it's scrub tactics and you will lose.
