Hmm...Ok I wanna say my 2 cents then be done with it. Why the hell is everyone beating around the bush?? If people want shit to change, FUCKING SPEAK UP. DON'T JUST BLAME IT ON EVERYONE ELSE AND THEN LEAVE IT! That won't fix a damn thing. So heres how I understand the issue at hand: GG/MB people are pissed cause streams and recordings are all one sided towards BB. Yes, that is insensitive as NCI was originally GG/MB ONLY. BUT, some people need to understand that we have people like Rin and Coopa who are doing they're best to promote the game and the scene to everyone. Rin and Coopa and IPW have been doing an amazing job promoting everything and making it known to people who we are. Its just that as of right now, BB is the most popular game because its newer. Honestly, I think thats kinda dumb cause I have watched extensive amounts of GG/MB and I enjoy watching it just as much as BB regardless of my knowledge of the game mechanics. But people are ignorant to some things so I'm not surprised it came down to this.

Now heres the biggest issue, no one ever fucking talks about it! All I've seen GG do to try and get some kind of word in is having someone yell at Rin for not knowing to work Tsubasa's stream setup. What the fuck is that gonna fix? NOTHING! So instead of yelling "RETARD!!" fucking talk to whoever is running BB and ask them if GG/BB?MB can trade spots or whatever. Its not that hard! Now I do understand that no one in BB probably thought of this until after it happened but that doesn't mean change is impossible. So I am personally apologizing to all of the GG/MB players who started this originally. It isn't right to have one sided publicity towards a community scene. But there have to be compromises and lots of planning.

Solutions are simple, first off, I think BB needs to repay GG/MB for being ignorant to the whole thing and trade spots entirely next ranbat. GG/MB split on the main stream and BB top 8 when we get to it. Easy enough right? Now as for after that, it gets a bit harder to coordinate as its 3 games on one stream. It can be done but it will require early setups, meaning we get there at around the same time when we first started being around 11am. We get the stream set up and running. We figure out who gets streamed first and go from there. I personally think doing GG and MB first and second are best as setting up those are easier than BB. We start at noon and we stream GG/MB for however long we decide then we switch to BB. From there, we do top 8 of all 3 games in the same order. After that, we can run any MMs or whatever people want on Stream until we pack up and go.

Now this is how I would speculate the general timeline to look:

10or11am-Noon: Setup streams and consoles.

Noon-3pm: GG Matches until top 8

3pm-5pm: MB matches till top 8

5pm-8pm: BB matches till top 8

830pm-11pm: Top 8 for all games

11pm-whenever: MMs, Casuals, clean up, whatever

May not be the best solution but at least I'm fucking trying to fix it rather than just arguing over whos fault it is and what happened.

Point is, we're a COMMUNITY, we need to man up and talk shit out when we have an issue and NOT fucking troll like an idiot who just likes to instigate conflict.

So lets quit arguing over this fucking shit and FIX IT! I'm getting tired of hearing people still argue over whos fault this shit is when it happened 2 weeks ago! FIX IT!

EDIT: I do apologize for being harsh, I'm in a severely bad mood today and this made me crack.

I made the assumption that the previous NCI format was more than enough to cover all scenes, and let the IPW stuff and the promise of the stream on BBVLog run its course. As a person that enjoys both the Melty Blood and Guilty Gear scene, I'll be amending the layout of the games to keep the area from being so segregated, and hopefully garner interest in the games. Ultimately the previous go was a test experiment and was re-arranged on-site to avoid the fire hazard issues and keep the tournament calling efficient. That way things don't seem so separated.

there were problems with the NCI ranbat at berkeley aka BB TAKING TOO LONG and MB FINALS GETTING DELAYED FOR A FEW HOURS (not the first time this has happened btw but whatever) EXHIBITION MATCHES SHOULD BE AFTER ALL TOURNAMENTS FINISH etc but i digress... yo i didnt hear anything about these backup CRTs at SJSU. we could have used those.

also this time melty blood only got 7 people where it usually gets at least 12 but whatever

although the emotion behind john korea's words may be unwarranted, he is giving criticism that shouldn't be ignored regardless of how it was presented

on the topic of next nci, jake presented the idea of having tournament setups in one room and casuals in the other. i think this idea has some merits to it but ultimately it needs to be given some more thought so we can weigh out all the pros and cons

Okay, time to play the role of PAPA JUICE since two people have IM'd me about the situation and, since I'm the one who is supposedly taking over for John, I guess I have to say something. Unfortunately I've been dealing with RL shit for the past month and my priorities in terms of the community have, understandibly, not been very high.

I'll start off first saying that AJ and David bailing us out was much appreciated. You guys pretty much saved IPW's ass on that day, so thanks for that.

That said, I'll start breaking the situation down.

Haunts was supposed to stream for us on IPW. Unfortunately, he bailed on us. That left us with David and AJ, who had streaming equipment of their own. When I arrived, I think somewhere around 2:30, the stream had not been set up. As we all know, tournaments never start on time, and that is fine. However MB and GG were supposed to have started at that time. MB was supposed to start at noon, GG at 2 PM, and BB at 4 PM. When I arrived, sign ups had not even started yet, and the stream was not set up either. That is a problem.

I wanted to have equal streaming opportunity time for GG, MB, and BB, but given the reality of the situation, that was going to be difficult. We were really strained on time because the event pretty much started three hours late. Had the stream been set up on time and with all the tournaments starting on time, we would have never run into this issue, regardless if Haunts showed up or not.

The idea was to have MB run at noon, stream it in its entirety, GG start at 2 PM, stream it in its entirety, BB start at 4 PM, and stream it in its entirety. Unfortunately, all the tournaments pretty much started at the same time, leaving us in a bad situation. It was a series of unfortunate events, essentially. Even if every game started an hour late (MB at 1, GG at 3, BB at 5), it would have gone a lot smoother.

That did not leave us with very many options. While I did want to give MB and GG more stream time, it would have been difficult to juggle all three games without screwing ourselves on time management. If we didn't have a stream at all, I would've expected BB to finish in two hours since we had five set ups running.

Sometimes shit just happens and you got to roll with it. This was one of those situations. We couldn't have our cake and eat it too, essentially.

The main issue here is that BB isn't swallowing up other games' time or some other straw man. People dropped the ball and either didn't show up or showed up extremely late. I can't do anything about people being late or unable to show; that is their own prerogative.

The obvious, BEST answer to this is that everyone shows up on time like they are supposed to. That means MB should be starting at noon, GG at 2 PM, and BB at 4 PM. That way everyone is happy. Even if it starts an hour late for each game, every game will have equal stream time. If people do not show up on time, then there cannot truly be equal stream time for each game due to time restraints.

That said, if the above cannot happen, we don't have a whole lot of options. We could have no stream at all, which means every game is treated equally, or we could just let each game stream their own game on seperate streaming channels, letting viewers decide which game they want to watch the most out of the three. A system of staggering the tournaments out was in place to prevent the previous sentence from happening, but that didn't work out due to people being... people. If everything had started on time or even an hour late like it should have, none of this would have been an issue.

As far as shit talking goes, I already know Jiang was a huge part of it and already told him to tone it down (which he said he would). To be honest, Jiang wasn't even talking shit; he was just being an annoying asshole for the sake of being an annoying asshole. There is a difference between talking shit and showing up at an event and berating people. If Danny is being annoying, just feed him hotdogs and he'll shut up.

TL;DR version: there is none; stop being lazy and read the entire post. Also, Danny is fat.

*Laugh*

People don't need to get mad at BB/GG, instead, we should band together as a whole community and start raging at SFIV/SSFIV. :D

First, I would like to apologize on behalf of Iplaywinner. As mentioned previously, it was due to the goodwill of Tsubasa and Magz that the stream was able to be up in the first place, and I feel not enough thanks has been expressed to these two on my part. My sincere apologies to these two individuals and the GG and MB community, as these events might have been prevented had some problems on our side had not arisen.

That said, I have discussed with Tsubasa, Magz, Chun, and Haunts on a possible solution to the next NCI, and together, with the community and those who helped us, will be giving you an Iplaywinner Stream that will equally represent each aspect of NCI.

The stream will be provided free of charge.

Also, to help bond the communities, a sort of special tournament is under works for the next NCI thanks to some thinking from Tsubasa, Chun, and IPW. Hopefully we can put these things behind us and look forward to the next NCI as a model for NCI's to come.

just for the record, if there's any technical trouble with the streaming setups, feel free to call me over to take a look at it. i would have gladly helped and potentially have spared aj and david had i known what was going on.

Yeah I'm not really sure why people are even getting mad.

Because we don't have a gauntlet where one person faces other people in other games like WCG.

How about we abandon all the games altogether and only play CvS2 instead.

Even though all of you suck miserably at the game. Especially Danny.

Hey, Nakoruru Ratio-2 K-Groove almost got me that runback!

Honestly, I don't really care to say too much, but I've been encouraged to say something about my thoughts on this last NCI, so I'll make it brief.

-I don't mind that my streaming equip was used primarily for BB streaming. I think other people are more upset about it than I am.

-I appreciate the consideration being put into streaming more GG & MB. MB especially since it's my main game & since US MB streams have been decreasing in frequency recently.

-I think it's a good idea to try to encourage the communities to mingle more, which is apparently something that is being kept in mind for the next NCI's room layouts.
