Only saw the first episode of Ika, but I liked it, it was pretty funny.

Also, big news guys, I joined the Air Force and now my shipping date is on Jan. 11th., so the A-1 Tournament will be my first and final BB:CS tournament. I will also be FINALLY going back to the Philippines for the holidays, and then when I come back I'm going to have a nice going away party with family.

I'm going to miss my family and friends when I go, and I'm going to miss this thread. You guys always make my day with all the random BS that happens here every day. Nor-Cal will be missed.

Guess I'll learn Ky first then.

I just want to clarify that, although I think Ky is a great choice for a beginner, if there is a character that you really like and really want to play, then you should learn that character. Just know that it's gonna be a more difficult road. Otherwise, if you're pretty indecisive about who you want to play and just want a good foundation, yeah, give Ky a shot.

Tenkai beat me too it, but this is probably the most important mentality to go into fighting games with.

Seriously, if you see a character you want to learn, nothing but you will stand in the way of learning them. All in all I think you'll probably enjoy the game more if you play a character you like than one people tell you to play. Just remember it is a game, and games are generally meant to be fun.

Also, on the topic of easy characters, I'm surprised no one mentioned Anji. Fucker's so easy to learn.

Ky is the easiest in terms of pick up and play. I use him because I don't practice at all, and there's not that much you need to know.

However, since he's so easy to pick up, winning with Ky is a whole different ballgame altogether.

It's like being in Hajime no Ippo where you're Kobayashi and everyone else is Ippo. You will be dancing around, clinching to avoid getting killed and grinding your opponent down with your wimpy ass jab while trying to win off points in a war of attrition, and then all of a sudden eating a LOL liver blow because of one miss and getting KOed. If that analogy doesn't work for you, then here's an example:

If that kind of thing appeals to you, then go for it.

Otherwise, I think you should simply pick a character that suits your playstyle the best.

TBH, I don't think Anji is easy at all, both from a strategy and an execution standpoint. At least if you want to win with him...if you just want to play LOLTROLLAnji, then meh.

zidane reminds me of tom green; goofy facial hair, makes an ass of himself, and doesn't know what a punchline is.

Qwerty reminds me of jealousy; doesn't know how to troll, points out false things about other people, and doesn't know what being witty is.

Yeah I'm not 100% sure who I wanna play, seems like a few fit my style. I play Jin/Bang in BB if that narrows it down.

Although on another note, I tried practicing Ky's impossible dust and for some reason after the jS it doesn't seem to want to read my double jump unless I mash 8/9 a few times.

I don't claim to know Ky that well (I pretty much just imitate stuff I see Ernest do), but wouldn't it be easier to input the 88 before even touching j.S? I'm pretty sure if you hit j.S at the peak of the double jump everything works out fine.

Also, Ernest seems to think Anji isn't easy to play, to which I disagree, but then again I've been messing around with Anji for coming up on 2 years now. It's very possible (and highly likely) that after you play any character long enough they will seem easy to you. So, I don't really think it matters who you pick cause once you adjust everything works out fine.

Mmm, so are you like the rushdown type? If you feel like you are you could try sol/chipp. Those generally want to stay in
