Saru Kada Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 hahaha fucking dark phoenix mirror can you pick who to invade in dark souls or is it random? like, could you go wreck paul's shit ray?
BagLunch Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 I actually think that one of my favourite moments that I saw was of Laugh's Rose vs. Mago's Fei. It's down to the wire, with Rose in the corner and Fei holding a life lead. Rose throws Fei into the corner and takes the life lead, and then backdashes ALL THE WAY TO THE OPPOSITE CORNER. Fei chases by dashing dashing dashing... and then does a chicken wing, which the Rose somehow Soul Throws for the KO. sooooooooo great
MrDolphin Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Man, 50 hours and you're at the final boss, crazy. I'm like 46 or something at Ornstein and Smough. Fuck those guys. Trying to kill Smough first because I want Ornstein's armour, but so much harder fuuuuuu. Yeah that arch part was gay. I finally figured out that wearing a Havel and doing fat roll was getting me killed on that part so I just switched off to something lighter. Roll through arrows, yeeeeeah. The invisibility bullshit is the fog ring you get from joining the forest covenant. Makes it so you can't lock-on. I don't know what weapon you're using but trying to hit those guys with a spear is super annoying. From is apparently taking a look at it and maybe nerfing it.
ghostgoodboy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 All due to what HP touchpad does. For a game that's so unforgiving, I have had my homework done. lol I didn't know that you can get Ornstein and Smough's armor sets after defeating them, but really it didn't matter cause I wanted Ornstein's shits over Smough's cause it looks so good, and I had the fat one killed last(in the early attempts I actually had Smough first, but then Ornstein's souped up form is way harder so I gave up on that). For strategy against them, I think I also used spear, or dark knight sword, try to lure and kill them one by one although it's still very hard but you gotta be patient. Solo S's pattern simple and way easier to dough than O's, again, have to patient. Are you also doing a Knight build? it's easier I think if you are a caster as you can just run away and shoot shit but once you are out you are fucked. Mike no you can't choose who you invade, what's even worse is that you can't even choose what server you logged to. that's why people are saying online is bullshit because you have two variables, and getting help from summoning or giving help from being summoned is sometimes futile if you are unlucky and got logged into a server with low popularity. I've seen a world(server) with a lot of bloodstain and msgs on the ground and another time the ground was so pure lol. I'd rather From to fix online by adding some sort of diablo-like room hosting than the damn arch nonsense. also Yuan how the hell did you get Havel's armor before passing that part? now off to get O's armor set yeahhh, and forge weapons.
MrDolphin Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Man, I can get Smough down pretty reliably now, but powered up Orrstein is TOO STRONG.
ghostgoodboy Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 lol even it's almost one-hit-death grief, but I still love his lighting BBQ skewer move, too awesome. fuck, looks like the merchant will sell whoever you beat the very FIRST time regardless you win or lose, so I just bought Smough's set.. I'll gonna kill Ornstein next time first in the next playthrough.
MrDolphin Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 (edited) I thought it was whoever you kill second? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6gR8o8ISU7Q Crystal Ring Shield, so bugged, lol. Edited October 17, 2011 by MrDolphin
MrDolphin Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Dark Souls speed run, go go go. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9ymysN3qQ8
ghostgoodboy Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 by just watching it makes me don't wanna play anymore, cause it makes me feel that i'm horrible at it.
nagai Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 lol it took that guy 12 minutes to do what I did in 2-3 hours...
BagLunch Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Upcoming trip to Microsoft. GRAND FINALS LET'S GO
Saru Kada Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 haha what a speed run. he does so much damage. why can't you do that much damage long? I like how he beat the game in just under an hour and a half. not quite as bad as morrowind/oblivion speed runs though. 7/12 minutes, respectively, if I remember correctly.

How is it that when he smacks those boss enemies with the axe, it takes like 6 hits to kill them, even when he doesn't use any coating/enchantment? Is that normal?
ghostgoodboy Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 omg upgrading weapons and armors is so much work, but so rewarding especially Smough's whole set.
MrDolphin Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 Full Ornstein is where it's at. That and the spear, so badass looking. Shame the spear kinda sucks right now.
BagLunch Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 Evidently you can beat Fallout 1 in less than 10 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzSOKi_t5fg&feature=player_embedded Fallout 2 is well known for how rushing to San Francisco and getting power armor asap basically breaks the game, but with some more abuse, you can beat the game in under 20 minutes.
Saru Kada Posted October 20, 2011 Posted October 20, 2011 shit, SCIENCE ahh yes fallout. morrowind is a bit more memorable for me though because the proper speedrun involves waiting for some dude to fall out of the sky, die, then looting his corpse for the fling-yourself-through-the-air spell that he was using to get around

But how do you not die from landing?
ghostgoodboy Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 haha, apparently one of my colleagues made it on The dirty Vancouver. Gook is a bitch and the description about her from the website is pretty legit as I witness some myself. for more, ask me personally.
sweetvids Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 haha The Dirty. Just looked that up, it's hilarious.
ghostgoodboy Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 I remember that. But how do you not die from landing? control fall, oh wait
Saru Kada Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 (edited) I remember that. But how do you not die from landing?for the first jump, he actually uses potions of mark and recall right before he lands, thus negating fall damage (loooooooo) after that, he very clearly just buys some scrolls of slowfall, the more conventional way of dealing with it also apparently there's now a four minute speedrun of morrowind, although it involves a bug. I still don't think anything will ever top the ~1 minute run of Wizardry for the NES. Sure it counts on a lot of random numbers triggering just right, but how many games can you name that you can beat in around 1 minute? The only one that comes to mind is Myst, and I remember a friend showing me that wayyyyy back in the day.
ghostgoodboy Posted October 22, 2011 Posted October 22, 2011 Yuan, try LT on your 360 pad when you holding Havel's shield. I totally didn't know that, and luckily the Havel NPC doesn't utilize such kick-ass spell. It's like, fuck parry, my body can take it.
