FRAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

not like you were planning to stick with sent in there anyways

no more akuma inf, noooooooo

no more spencer inf, ohhhhhhh?

13 changes in this patch

gotta catch them all

gotta catch them all

woaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

No I wasn't, but honestly I think this shit is stupid. Most high level players have already exposed Sent. Fuck even Clarence has exposed Sentinel since I lose like the majority of the time to his Wesker and Doom when I'm Sent. Also, has anyone even seen the Akuma infinite done outside of the lab? Once again, stupid shit, due to scrubs. DHC trick will probably still be in since they would have to make an overhaul on how cinematic supers work, but that'll probably in the next knee jerk patch. I don't even understand half the shit in this patch.

Dear Capcom,

I was born without arms and therefore I must block everything with my face. Please remove Sentinel from the game.

Signed,

scrub

PS: Please remove infinites that actually have no bearing on competitive play because I saw it in a combo video once and that that shit was broke. I mean El Fuerte won alot of tournaments because he had an infinite right? Same with people counter picking Juri with Fei.

They buffed dorm jumping M by 20K. Your god tier character is broken now.

this shit is BANANAS OH MY GOD IMABOUT TO SLAP MY GRANDMOTHER

fuerte's max amount of that slap loop isn't even infinite, because of the hitbox of most chars ray will tell you you can do it probably at most 6 times on huge characters. that being said, it's still A LOT of damage that requires GOOD execution, thus becomes an integral part of any good fuerte player's portfolio. akuma inf is just HURR J TATSU with im guessing some timing and that particular setup. scrubs over reacting? maybe, but it's just as much of a threat without being legitimately difficult to potentially deal that damage. fei's infinite on juri is a true infinite, so it got removed, because fei is already a great character. no one's won streams with it because no one is depending on it with a cast this diverse. seen jwong try it a few time though, but you get the point. now there's a limit to how many times it can be done apparently, so it's not a true infinite but still can do some damage by looping (?)

sent already got exposed p hard, i agree, no need to nerf his health. if anything to make the game better i'd like to see global 10% damage reduction with health the same and nerf on adv guarding spacing

Actually the tatsu infinite is pretty hard to do since you have to TK the tatsu with a forward jump and time it so that the last hit of the tatsu hits them right before you land. As well as it only works on standing characters, so even setting it up was hard. As well as Akuma having much better damage options, people would never go for the infinite anyways. Like I said, knee jerk. If shit is breaking the game with niggas using Akuma infinite to run down the clock or something then yeah, I would remove it. Yeah sure X-factor makes you need more reps, but in X-factor Akuma can enough damage with a regular combo to kill nigs anyways. I don't really care about the loop, but that it effects his air tatsu now just in general, possibly making it shittier just because of a potential infinite that I don't think anyone has seen yet in competitive play. Spencer, can't really comment. But if Ray can beat us everytime just by using it then yeah I'd get salty, but would he? When he can just do a much easier combo into Bionic Lancer?

The nerf does fuck up his "in your face" follow up though since a second one will cause you to be airborne instead of on the ground. Don't know how this will affect his other combos.

what even was dorm jumping M? also is there an actual list of these patch changes or are they going to keep people playing where's wally

yeah I don't agree with the sent nerf either, it would have been silly but understandable if they dropped it to like 1.2 or 1.1 but 900k is like, what?

besides we all know that this game only needs one fix: take out salt factor

It's like they went to Alexey for consultation. "yeah man that shit is so cheap. There's like nothing you can do about that. Please patch it".

That's right. Scrublexey. SCRUUUUBY.

Main piss off at the moment is just not knowing what they changed.

Well the nerf to sent has the side effect of making xfactor less effective for him since he can't just waltz in with offense anymore when powered up; it essentially puts a cap on how much health he can recover.

As for removing xfactor though I'm not sure the game would be more "fun" if you removed it. It obviously needs more tweaking but the fact of the matter is that mvc3 is funner to us than mvc2 precisely because every match goes down to the wire, and xfactor is designed to promote close matches.

Is it competitively fair to reward the loser? Not very. But losing one assist is big, and means you don't have all the tools required throughout the entire match; without xfactor the game boils down to who loses 1 char first, rather than 3. I know I have more fun watching matches that go down to 2v2, 1v1, gradually, than a blowout 3v1.

There really is no perfect answer as it stands. But I do know that patching the game one month out isn't an answer either.

probably the sons and daughters of the QA/balancing team bitching about how they lose all the time to online sentinels

DADDDDYYYYY

Haha, online scrubs so bad. Did Clarence tell you how his little brother who's like 13 or something(confirm Clarence?) asked Clarence how to beat people online and Clarence said "just call out assist with Wesker and teleport to the other side", and his brother started bodying online people.

I just hope that Capcom doesn't start pulling what Riot does with League of Legends.

They nerfed one hero, to which the public responded "wtf??? He's not even that good...", to which Riot replied that he was "stealth OP"... he was OP and nobody knew, and they pre-emptively nerfed him. Let the players find that out and have some fun with it, jeez.

Level 3 XF's bonus seems a little strong, but XF as a whole is pretty cool and I'm glad that there's something to deal with teams losing all integrity the moment they lose one member.

i think neto or scaling got changed too

chang, can confirm that our usual bnb of trijump L LMH S J. H,MH J. H,MH, J.MHS usually does 45x k damage

now it only does 405k damage, though the simpler corner bnb of trijump L LMH St. H magnetic grab st. H S MH dash HS does 431k

hahahahahahahahaha what did you tell him to do, run doom assists?

CLARENCE'S WHOLE FAMILY IS NOTHING WITHOUT DOOM ROCKS

I was thinking mostly of level 3 salt factor; your point about rewarding the loser is kind of valid, but the number of times I win because of level 3 salt factor and the number of times I lose because of level 3 salt factor about balance each other out, at which point I defer to occam's razor; in the end, it feels like a game mechanic that doesn't actually achieve anything. sure, it's kind of hype when someone makes a comeback by landing one random hit on each of the other guy's characters, but it'd be even more hype if he made that comeback by earning his way in with good pressure and sequential hits, not to mention it'd leave less of a bad taste in his opponent's mouth.

relating back to your point about being down a character, one thing I think they could do to salt factor is buff the damage output more while lowering its duration/forcing it to end when you kill one opponent character, and/or alternatively allow it to be used like a burst (e.g. defensive combobreaker). this way, in a 3v1 or 2v1 situation, you could still generate the hype of the potential comeback by offering a near-guaranteed kill of one character and evening the odds or allowing the underdog to survive one combo longer, while keeping even-strength matches largely unaffected from how they are now.

as much as I enjoy winning with LEVEL 3 SALT FACTOR MAGNETO VS THE WORLD (just as much as I enjoy losing to level 3 salt factor doom vs the world), they should really tone it down a bit; I get much more satisfaction from winning by locking down my opponent in the corner with magneto rushdown and mixups than from winning by landing 3 random hits on my opponent.

tl;dr: daddy please nerf level 3 x factor i'm a scrub

wu: i have no idea i'll see what comes up tonight. your 405k damage sounds right though because ... s (j.h adf j.mh)x3 j.hs does something like 430? and powder your hands puts out 445 if you squeeze out all six reps (436 on five)

So it's official: as of this past Tuesday, sans ceremony unfortunately, I have my M.Sc. in Math.

Kinda sucked about the ceremony getting cancelled, but I think it was cancelled because of the off-chance we'd get hit by a blackout during the ceremony, so there wasn't much choice, I guess.

Congratulations!

Did you get a chance to celebrate, or is the atmosphere still too tense there for partying?

Also, now that you're a Master, do you get to be called with the -sensei honorific?

Whenever I see the title "Dissidia Duodecim", I think it says "Dissidia DUODENUM", and I chuckle about the game being about Final Fantasy Small Intestine.
